Second-floor attic of the Good Hunter Restaurant

Ever since the former owner of the Good Hunter Restaurant transferred most of the restaurant's shares to Jiang Chen, this place had naturally been renovated into Jiang Chen's residence in Mondstadt.

Jiang Chen, 19 years old.

A handsome guy.

At least that's what he thinks.

"But considering how popular I was with girls during my freshman year of college, it should be about right."

Jiang Chen stretched lazily and walked out of the attic.

Following the principle of a transparent kitchen and the need to attract customers, the Good Hunter Restaurant's kitchen had always been set up outside. Mondstadt's customers also preferred eating at the outdoor stalls.

So the number of customers eating inside the restaurant was relatively small.

But at lunchtime, it shouldn't be as empty as it was now—without a single guest.

"The Stormterror has been getting more and more violent lately."

Jiang Chen muttered to himself. There was a faint trace of anticipation in his voice.

"The traveler from another world… should be arriving soon, right?"

As his words fell, a voice came from the four-person table behind him.

"What do you mean 'arriving soon'? Isn't Brother Jiang Chen himself a traveler from another world?"

"?"

Jiang Chen turned around.

A girl wearing a pure white priestess dress and a nun's hat, with linen-colored twin tails, was sitting on the long wooden bench with her knees bent.

Her pair of small black dress shoes were neatly placed beside her.

Her feet, wrapped in warm white stockings, rested on the bench as she gently rubbed her calves with both hands.

Her cute and delicate face occasionally showed a painful expression whenever she pressed on a sore spot.

"Barbara?"

Jiang Chen froze for a moment, but his mood instantly brightened.

Don't ask why.

The answer is simple:

She's extremely cute.

"When did you get here, Barbara?"

"Just now."

Barbara continued rubbing her calves and said,

"Brother Jiang Chen only woke up at noon. Being this lazy isn't good."

"Your expectations for an ordinary citizen are a bit too high."

"You're someone recognized by both Mondstadt's citizens and the Knights of Favonius. Brother Jiang Chen should work harder and set an example."

"Yes, yes."

Jiang Chen spread his hands helplessly.

"Things will probably get busy soon anyway."

"You mean the Stormterror situation?"

Barbara looked at him with clear blue eyes like a lake, full of anticipation.

"Brother Jiang Chen has already found a way to solve the Stormterror problem?"

"That's not for me to decide."

Jiang Chen shook his head without giving a direct answer.

Stormterror becoming more violent meant that the Abyss Order had been more active lately.

That meant the "Prince" or "Princess" should already be in place.

The remaining one between those two would be the key to solving the problem.

Jiang Chen had been waiting here for an entire year.

After all, transmigration wasn't something he could control. What could he do if he arrived too early?

Jiang Chen felt quite helpless.

If it weren't for familiar characters like Barbara, Jean, Kaeya, Diluc, and others around him, he wouldn't even know how he'd get through this year.

"By the way, Barbara, you ran here at noon. Aren't you afraid Sister Rosaria will scold you?"

Jiang Chen asked.

"Ah! Please don't tell Sister Rosaria!"

Barbara waved her hands nervously.

"So you're risking being scolded by Rosaria?"

"Well… today's lunch at the church is a bit… plain…"

Barbara poked her fingers together while her gaze unconsciously drifted toward the independent stove on the second floor of the restaurant, which currently had no smoke coming from it.

She swallowed quietly.

Jiang Chen smiled and gave her a gentle head pat.

"What do you want to eat?"

That stove had been specially forged by Blacksmith Wagner after Jiang Chen moved in.

After all, if he wanted to cook something for himself, he couldn't possibly do it downstairs in front of so many pedestrians and customers.

"I won't grow taller like this…"

Barbara muttered softly, but Jiang Chen's question attracted her attention much more.

"Mapo Tofu!"

She answered immediately.

"Money?"

Jiang Chen asked again.

Barbara pressed her soft lips together and reluctantly took 10 Mora out of her pocket.

"Hahaha!"

Jiang Chen burst out laughing.

"So stingy."

Even the cheapest dish at the Good Hunter Restaurant, Teyvat Fried Egg, cost 200 Mora.

Not to mention Mapo Tofu, which wasn't even on the menu.

"That's all I have!"

Barbara blushed and shouted.

"Next time I'll treat Brother Jiang Chen to a meal at the church."

If she had to spend any more money, she wouldn't be able to eat Mapo Tofu anymore.

"Alright, alright."

Jiang Chen took the money.

From what he knew, Barbara, who came from a noble family, was definitely a little rich girl.

He really wanted to see her savings jar someday.

Jiang Chen went to light the fire and heat the stove.

While doing so, he opened the window and called outside,

"Sara, bring some tofu up here."

"Yes, boss!"

Sara replied from the stall outside.

She hurried upstairs carrying a box of tofu and couldn't help complaining,

"Boss, there have been far fewer travelers and merchants lately. Our business has dropped a lot."

The Good Hunter mainly relied on foreign travelers for business. Locals only came occasionally.

"After all, Stormterror has been active around Mondstadt. Merchants and travelers don't dare come."

Jiang Chen nodded in understanding.

While speaking, he casually chopped up Jueyun Chili, and the pungent spicy aroma quickly filled the air.

Barbara sniffed the scent.

Her eyes instantly lit up.

Unable to resist, she walked closer to watch him cook.

With her hands behind her back, standing on the floor in her white stockings, she slightly rose onto her toes.

Her skirt fluttered gently as she hummed a pleasant tune.
