Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The Plan Against the Storm

Lisa's considerable enthusiasm was pressing against Jiang Chen's arm.

Jiang Chen coughed awkwardly.

"Lisa, stop joking around."

"It seems that because of Stormterror lately, I've been visiting the Good Hunter less often… and Jiang Chen's heart has already been stolen by someone else."

Lisa spoke in a slightly resentful tone, casually glancing toward Jean.

"Lisa, isn't it inappropriate to talk about slacking off in front of Amber and the others?"

Jean reminded her to pay attention to the setting. After all, there were junior Knights present.

Lisa had a habit of going to the Good Hunter for afternoon tea.

That alone was fine.

But when she came back, she never brought anything back for Jean!

Even Jean had begun to accumulate a little dissatisfaction.

"Well… actually everyone in the Knights already knows…"

Amber said awkwardly.

Lisa was famous for avoiding work whenever possible and often ordering Amber around.

However, whenever it came to actual work, Lisa always performed perfectly, leaving no room for criticism.

She was still one of Amber's role models.

"That's not slacking off," Lisa explained calmly.

"Proper rest helps you complete work more efficiently."

"It's a method of achieving twice the result with half the effort."

Then she added,

"If possible, I'd love for Jean to learn from that."

"Mm-hmm."

Jiang Chen nodded in full agreement.

Jean looked helpless.

"How did this suddenly turn into a discussion criticizing me?"

"Well, everyone's nerves have been tense lately because of Stormterror."

Lisa smiled gently.

"A little joking helps people relax."

"But Lumine, arriving in Mondstadt at a time like this isn't very fortunate."

"Since Stormterror awakened, it has been causing chaos outside the city."

"Especially after the disturbance just now."

"The elemental flow and ley line circulation around Mondstadt are now like a ball of yarn clawed apart by a cat."

"For mages, this is the worst possible situation."

"It ruins both your skin and your mood."

When she finished speaking, Lisa looked meaningfully at Jiang Chen.

She clearly wanted a beauty-enhancing iced drink.

"Qingxin flowers are out of stock recently."

Jiang Chen shrugged.

Jean rubbed her forehead, unable to deal with the two of them.

"Anyway, because of the current situation, the Knights can only help by posting missing-person notices."

"We can't provide much additional help right now."

"You can stay in Mondstadt temporarily."

"Once the crisis is resolved, we'll help you search for clues with all our strength."

Jean added.

She felt a little guilty.

After all, Lumine and Paimon had helped defend Mondstadt against Stormterror, yet she couldn't offer them immediate assistance.

"Jiang Chen?"

Lumine looked toward him.

"Lumine should help too."

Jiang Chen said.

If he wanted to level up, going into the wilderness or exploring ruins would make no difference.

"Exactly! We want to help too!"

Paimon added enthusiastically.

She had already noticed that the Knights were generous with rewards.

Lumine nodded.

"So Boss Jiang Chen is willing to help as well?"

Kaeya asked.

"Well, the Good Hunter is right here in Mondstadt."

Jiang Chen said matter-of-factly.

After all, the reputation of Mondstadt's citizens and the Good Hunter restaurant were both sources of his Mora.

Of course he had to care.

"That's great."

Kaeya felt some of the pressure on his shoulders lighten.

"In that case, let's start planning our operation."

Jean continued the discussion.

"This attack by Stormterror has actually given us an opportunity to find the source of the disaster."

"Through Lisa's magical detection, we've identified the origin of the hurricane surrounding Mondstadt."

"And the answer is?"

Kaeya raised an eyebrow.

"The abandoned Temples of the Four Winds," Lisa replied.

"Stormterror is able to generate storms of this scale by using the residual power in those ruins."

Jean nodded.

"Our targets are three of the four abandoned temples."

"The reason we're only targeting three… I believe everyone understands."

"I don't understand!"

Paimon raised her hand.

"It's probably some kind of insider talk," Lumine whispered to her.

"We'll ask later."

Jean continued outlining the strategy.

"With Jiang Chen and Lumine helping, this will greatly ease our manpower shortage."

The Knights still needed to station guards inside Mondstadt.

After the recent dragon attack, they had to deal with its aftermath and keep watch over the Fatui delegation, preventing them from taking advantage of the weakened defenses.

"Amber, you will investigate the nearest temple."

"After completing the preliminary reconnaissance, wait for Jiang Chen and Lumine before taking action."

"Understood."

Amber nodded.

The temple closest to Mondstadt was also the safest one, and she knew Jean had assigned it to her considering her abilities.

"As for the remaining two temples…"

"I'll handle them with Kaeya."

Lisa volunteered.

"After all, I said I'd help."

"I have no objections."

Kaeya smiled with interest.

"An abandoned temple suddenly being used again… it feels like someone is working behind the scenes."

"I'll investigate it."

"In that case, we shouldn't waste any time."

Jean declared firmly.

"The storm continues to rage, and passive defense is meaningless."

"Before the dragon disaster spreads further…"

"We will take the initiative and advance toward the ruins of the abandoned temples."
