Chapter 37: A New Home for Rin

The doctor began examining Rin again.

First, he performed a basic medical examination. He checked her overall health, heartbeat, breathing rate, and physical condition. During the examination, the doctor noticed several small wounds and bruises on Rin's body.

He carefully examined the marks and said softly,

"It looks like someone may have hurt this child. However, according to the rest of her physical examination, she is currently stable."

The doctor then began treating Rin's wounds.

Obito, King Leon, and Queen Elizabeth stepped outside the Royal Medical Room so that the doctor could examine and treat Rin without any disturbance.

Silence filled the corridor outside the Royal Medical Room.

After a few moments, Elizabeth asked Leon worriedly,

"Leon, have the people who tried to attack Obito in that alley been captured?"

Leon answered seriously,

"Yes. I ordered the Captain to find and arrest them and have them punished according to the law."

Elizabeth thought about Rin and said,

"I have a feeling they may have hurt this child as well. I don't know how long she had been alone in that alley. Perhaps she was waiting for her parents, hoping they would come and find her."

Leon took a deep breath.

"The Captain has distributed Rin's picture throughout every part of the Kingdom. If her parents are still somewhere in the Kingdom, they will surely come to the Royal Palace when they see her picture."

Elizabeth silently nodded.

A little while later, Obito looked at his mother and asked,

"Mother, Father... where will Rin sleep?"

Elizabeth gently replied,

"In your room."

Obito was surprised.

"In my room? But there is only one bed."

Elizabeth smiled.

"We'll have another bed installed."

Obito thought for a moment before saying,

"But... we have so many rooms. Why can't Rin sleep in another room?"

Elizabeth walked closer to Obito and lovingly placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Obito, we don't know how long Rin was alone in that alley. At that time, she didn't even have her parents with her. She is very frightened."

Obito quietly looked at his mother.

Elizabeth continued gently,

"If she stays alone in a room tonight, would you feel good about that? Think about it. If you were in her place and had been alone in that alley for so long, what would you do?"

Obito lowered his eyes.

Elizabeth said,

"You might become frightened too... You might even start crying. But Rin isn't crying anymore. Perhaps she has cried so much that there are no tears left in her eyes. She is terrified. If you stay with her, perhaps she will feel a little safer."

Obito thought for a few moments before nodding.

"Okay, Mother. Rin can stay with me in my room."

Elizabeth smiled.

"That's my boy. Until we find her parents, take good care of her."

"Yes, Mother."

A little while later, the door of the Royal Medical Room opened again.

The Director Doctor stepped out of the room. His expression was serious.

King Leon immediately turned toward him.

"Doctor, how is Rin?"

The Director Doctor replied,

"Your Majesty, we have completed a full physical examination and X-rays. Fortunately, there are no problems with her bones. We have also treated the small injuries on her body."

Leon breathed a sigh of relief.

But the doctor was not finished.

He said seriously,

"However, there is one concerning matter. This child is very weak. The weakness in her body is quite noticeable. It appears that she may not have eaten properly for several days."

The doctor looked at King Leon.

"Your Majesty, her body is extremely weak for a child of her age. She needs proper nutrition, rest, and care."

Leon immediately replied,

"We will take complete care of her. Thank you, Doctor."

The Director Doctor bowed his head.

"There is no need to thank us, Your Majesty. We are all your servants. We would even give our lives for you and your family."

Leon silently nodded.

Then he looked at Obito and said,

"Obito, thank the Director Doctor and the other doctors."

Obito stepped forward.

"Thank you all very much for treating Rin and me."

Rin was also standing near Obito. She looked innocently at the doctors and softly said,

"Thank you."

The Director Doctor and the other doctors smiled.

"Take care of your health, Crown Prince Obito and Rin."

A little while later, Obito, Rin, King Leon, and Queen Elizabeth returned to their private section of the Royal Palace.

Night had fallen.

Elizabeth was about to head toward the kitchen to prepare dinner, but after walking a few steps, she stopped.

She looked at Rin.

"Rin, dear, what would you like to eat tonight?"

Rin innocently replied,

"Anything."

Elizabeth smiled.

"What do you like?"

Rin thought for a moment and then softly answered,

"Rice."

A smile spread across Elizabeth's face.

"Alright. Then tonight we'll have rice and some vegetables."

Obito immediately added,

"Mother, chicken too..."

Elizabeth smiled.

"Yes, we'll have chicken too. Don't worry."

With that, Elizabeth walked toward the kitchen.

King Leon called Obito closer.

"Obito, I asked the butler to have another bed placed in your room. Necessary clothes and the other things Rin needs have also been brought into your room."

Then he gently said,

"Now take Rin to your room so she can rest. Give her the clothes and the other things she needs."

Obito nodded.

"Yes, Father."

Leon continued,

"When the food is ready, I'll call you. Then both of you can come downstairs."

Then Leon looked at Rin.

"Rin, if you need anything at all, tell me or Aunt Elizabeth. We will get it for you."

Rin slowly nodded.

"Yes."

Obito looked at Rin.

"Come on, Rin. Let's go to our room."

Rin quietly followed Obito.

For the first time that night, Rin felt that perhaps she was no longer truly alone.

Perhaps there were now people who cared about her.

And perhaps the Royal Palace was going to become a home for Rin—a home she had never even imagined having.
