Chapter 1 - The Lesson

The clouds roared ominously, darkening the sky above the graveyard that had become my reluctant home. Thunder cracked like a whip, and bolts of lightning illuminated the twisted branches of ancient trees, casting eerie shadows across the tombstones. I huddled in the hollow of a towering Deodar tree, my heart racing as I watched the gate creak open. "Please don't let them see me," I whispered to myself, pressing deeper into the tree's embrace. Two wild humans stepped through, their bodies draped in leafy posakh —a strange amalgamation of foliage and fabric that made them look both fearsome and otherworldly. They strode in with an air of authority, wielding weapons that glinted menacingly in the storm's light. Instinctively, I pressed myself deeper into the tree's embrace, my pulse quickening. "These are the wildings," I thought, recalling tales from mythic tomes. "Beings of legend who dwell in darkness." Whispers of their past echoed in my mind. Once, they had roamed the surface freely, but a cataclysmic event had driven them underground, where they now lived in fear and darkness. My breath caught in my throat as I realised I was witnessing something extraordinary—and terrifying. "What do they want?" I wondered aloud, barely able to suppress my fear. From what I had learned, they consumed anything their teeth could crush, and their presence sent a shiver down my spine. The wildings were not just brutish marauders; they followed a peculiar religion called Traucism, worshiping strange deities and practising bizarre rituals that were foreign to me. But enough about them; you must be wondering about me. I am Ragner, a 17-year-old homeless novice from Baston City whose profession is that of a learner and I am one of the weakest in this world. Baston is situated in the heart of Arcemedece, bordered by lush forests to the north and expansive plains to the south. This vibrant city serves as a cultural and economic hub for travellers and adventurers from across the land with its towering spires and bustling markets.

The pinnacle of power, where individuals possess direct ties to Heavenly Beings.

These figures wield continent-shaping influence, their abilities transcending mortal comprehension.

Access to all dungeons, including SS-tier dungeons and Asteral realms (multi-layered, one-way dungeons with infinite possibilities).

Only a few reach this tier, and they are often seen as living legends.

Legendary Tier

A rare tier of individuals who act as intermediaries between the mortal and divine realms.

Can enter SS-tier dungeons but not boss area .

Their skills are awe-inspiring, with the ability to manipulate cosmic forces or alter the flow of events on a global scale.

Arcane Tier

A realm of highly skilled individuals, steeped in mystical knowledge or refined combat prowess.

Access to S-tier dungeons, advanced A-tier dungeons, and secret magical labyrinths containing ancient knowledge.

Those in this tier often master rare disciplines, combining intellect, agility, and power.

Arcane-tier figures are the cornerstone of great guilds and powerful organizations.

Dominion Tier

Masters of strategy and leadership, individuals in this tier wield both physical power and social influence.

Access to A-tier dungeons and some S-tier dungeons with restrictions.

They often serve as regional leaders, commanding armies or overseeing significant territories.

Resilient Tier

Defined by perseverance and adaptability, individuals in this tier overcome hardships to rise above the ordinary.

Access to B-tier dungeons and mid-level A-tier dungeons under the supervision of higher-tier guilds.

Many bear scars of the past but use them as stepping stones toward greatness.

Emerging Tier

A category for those showing promise, with untapped potential ready to ignite.

Access to C-B tier dungeons, ideal for honing their skills and gathering rare resources.

Many in this tier are apprentices or rising stars preparing for greater roles in society.

Foundation Tier

The entry-level tier, where individuals begin their journey.

Access to E-D tier dungeons, suitable for basic monster-slaying and resource gathering.

These are the backbone of society, focusing on learning and building essential skills.

Mythic Professions

Beyond the tiers, there exist mythic professions, rare and enigmatic roles.

Access to dungeons according to capability.

Their power doesn't conform to the system—they can be stronger than Ethereal or fall below the Foundation tier, depending on their nature.

Even inside these there were three stages Lower, Mediocre and Higher.
