Chapter 56 - chapter forty nine

The living room now looks like a workshop...or a mini version of it because I didn't let him use the whole of it for his numerous projects. Furniture had been moved around overtime that I was sure I couldn't be able to recall what it looked like before.

What I know is, atleast the clutter is being dealt with. If it had been that week, I wouldn't have found space to even stand. He seriously needs to start using that room we agreed would be his workshop.

It was the end of the year period, there had been exams which got him stressed enough to get him working on the winter collection. He'd wanted his work in the magazine issue at the end of the year and the designs he'd made were giving my designers a run for their money.

"How is it?"

He moves the easel and allows me to see the masterpiece he'd kept me waiting for for hours. I nod smiling.

"Perfect! It looks great."

It really felt like the perfect showstopper.

Over the months, he's been improving quite a lot. His masterpiece looked magnificent. He took a photo of it sending it to the team before breathing in a sigh of relief.

After that piece at the auction, he's been designing more jewelry for sale. Getting his own share from the collections to work on. Now working and collecting money seemed to be something he was looking forward to.

I place a glass of milk into his hands, he has exams tomorrow afternoon. He needed to rest well. He smiled up at me before taking a sip, nodding at the taste.

**********

The person holding me has the most perfect scent, one I liked more than others. It was the reason that I stole his clothes to wear even back then...now I do it to feel like I was close to him when he wasn't near.

"I know you're awake babe."

"How?"

"Nose twitching like a rabbit, ears twitching like a cat."

I shot my hands up to said body parts pouting as he laughed.

"Can we get one if those?"

It was the perfect time to talk about it...I really want to take care of something that isn't me.

"I asked Jenny and she can help us acquire one, just only if you agree."

"There's litter, and scratching and breaking."

"I know!"

He was silent for a while and I was thinking he was going to refute it as well.

"Cats are pretty savage...but they're better than dogs, pandas and humans at this point."

"I still want a kid, just not this immediately anymore."

I'd asked him about having kids and he'd used every way possible to stop me and anyone else asking. That was before we went and met and carried Paula's kid.

He said it wasn't that he hated kids but we still had our life ahead of us...I understand that. In future, I want us to settle somewhere, take the longest vacation from work and come up with and take care of our own spawns. He calls kids human spawns.

"If we get kids now, will you skip school to take care of them? Also you're male and I am male, if we go down that road, we need a hospital and a surrogate. It takes time, something you and I can't spare right now."

He'd been right. Why is he always right? Adoption had not come to my thoughts as much. I want a baby that will look like him. A kid I'll look at and tell myself this is my family's child.

"We going back to that talk?"

"No!"

"We'll go for a class, or ten. As much as we can. It's good the holiday just begun. Then let's choose the best kitten out there...it should be neutered, for now. Too many of those could go south faster than predicted..."

I hugged him, smiling brightly. He was already making a plan for us although I knew this season had to be the busiest for them. Although Quint now wanted more and more duties but this meant a lot.

I love this guy, I don't think I could ever say it enough. Seeing him and recalling my parents I could see two total polar opposites. They still sent money, I think they got used to that, I don't need it I am working for my own. Nana sends a message or two once in a while that I don't know how to reply to half the time.

Those few things and him, his home...he felt more than family.

"Before papa and dada bring a kid home, shouldn't we be official?"

I blinked, easing my head to the present...what now?

"Aren't we official?"

Our parents knew we were together, Riley's mom has been gunnering on meeting my own parents which to me was hard. I wanted to tell her my family wasn't that...cordial but it was still gard to put it into words.

"Like engaged engaged to be married once I graduate-offocial."

I looked at him sitting up straight, glancing at me. Though it's not the same situation, now I think I know why Nicole wanted nothing to do with it back then. This feeling was overwhelming, my chest felt like it could burst, I had butterflies.

"I love you so much darling, so much that I want to spend my whole life with you...will you do me the honors of staying by my side as well?"

"I love you too."

That was all I could manage before warm lips were on mine and he seriously got t eating me up. Before I fell into it this time, I want through my iterenary but didn't go far. Good, or else...I think I'd have stopped him.

The evening was long, the night longer. I wanted to seriously curse him out. He knew I had to go out the next day yet had made me an invalid.

The pillow under my touch in the car helped me some. I stared at the diamond infinity ring I hadn't known had been on me the whole night.

When had he slipped it on? He had a matching one on and I liked that he did that.

I love diamonds though over time I have learnt. They shouldn't be too ostentatious and he'd gotten one with a meaning I loved. A real gem, high value hidden in it's simplicity. TSK! A proposal in bed, so out of time but I loved it.

"I am glad you like it."

"Have you told anyone yet?"

"Not yet! I am proposing to you, not everyone else and we have years to let them in on the news. Six years ain't much."

"Good, not the years part but good. Once I finish school, I am getting married. Your course can think about itself later on."

If I didn't clutch onto his family, where else will I feel like I belong?

Also, I wanted to be the one to tell them. I motioned for him to stop the car which he pulled into a parking lot. Once he was done, I got a tiny notebook from my pocket and handed it to him.

"No charades baby, just tell it to me straight."

"Can we get that somewhere?"

"Like a tattoo?"

"Yeah!"

He looked at it then at me smiling.

"Been a while since I had a meaningful one."

"That a yes?"

"Yes! Looks nice, let's get it."

I hugged him smiling wide, I hadn't thought he'd agree they readily...it kinda looked cutesy, away from his originals.

"Where do you want us to have it?"

I pointed towards the side, several blocks from where he'd parked.

"Good thing I agreed huh!"

"I would have gotten the lotus I always talk about."

Pasting it in the middle of my back. I've imagined it many times, hm seeing it as I dropped my bathrobe. TSK! Sexy, right?
