Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Internal Affairs of the Hyuga Clan

Hinata executed the techniques based on the memory she had observed. Even after completing the full sequence of Gentle Fist, she felt no discomfort. She looked at Boruto in confusion, unable to understand why he had fainted, but she still turned to her father and asked, "Father, is there something special about this sequence of Gentle Fist?"

Hiashi Hyuga snapped out of his thoughts as he noticed Hinata calling him. He replied, "Oh, I've finished observing the form you demonstrated. I find this set of techniques very unique. Let me think about it carefully." With that, he no longer addressed Hinata and drifted into contemplation.

Seeing her father in such deep thought, Hinata decided not to disturb him further and went to look for Boruto instead.

"Where has Boruto gone?" Hinata wondered as she searched the main house but couldn't find him. She returned to the front hall and saw Hiashi fully absorbed in practicing Gentle Fist. Seeing this, Hinata refrained from interrupting him. Just as she prepared to continue her search, Hiashi suddenly paused. Hinata, noticing his pause, waited quietly nearby, preparing to ask what he had discovered. After a moment, Hiashi turned his attention to her and called her into the room for a private conversation.

They entered the reception room. Hinata poured tea as she asked, "Father, what did you perceive from that sequence of Gentle Fist?" She handed a cup to Hiashi.

Hiashi took the tea and blew on it to cool it. "Earlier, I broke down that sequence and integrated it into standard techniques. I found that the training effect doubled. But don't tell anyone except those you trust." He took a sip of his tea. "Hinata, your skill has not declined."

"Thank you for your praise, Father. I've only been persistent in my practice," Hinata replied humbly before asking how this technique could be applied further.

"Hmm… First, teach Boruto. Then find a few trustworthy young members of the clan to test it. But the knowledge must remain strictly confidential." Hiashi decided on a preliminary plan, intending to discuss the details later with the elders. Even though his daughter marrying the Hokage had given him significant influence within the clan, he could not be sure which elders might oppose him. Managing the family was not a task he could control alone. The thought brought a faint headache.

"Hinata, do you think it might be better to choose a new clan head?"

Hinata was stunned by the sudden question. Once she processed it, she asked, "Father, why do you say that?"

"I feel it's time for the younger generation to take the lead. Let them guide the clan into a new era."

"Then, Father, do you have a suitable candidate in mind?"

"Hmm… How about Hizashi Hyuga's son, Masamune? The elder was a reformer, and his son has inherited those ideals. If he takes over, the Hyuga Clan should move forward rather than stagnate."

"Everything is up to you, Father," Hinata said respectfully.

"Originally, I considered passing the leadership to you or Hanabi, but most of the clan opposed it. They would say, 'If a woman leads the Hyuga Clan, wouldn't it cause chaos?' But wasn't our ancestor a woman? Why can't a woman be clan head? In the end, I decided it wasn't worth arguing. You two don't need to concern yourselves with this."

Hinata noticed her father's concern. At that moment, she thought of her cousin Neji. If he were still alive, perhaps he would have been considered for clan leadership.

Seeing Hinata's guilty expression, Hiashi understood that her thoughts were with Neji. He gently patted her back and said, "Neji had no regrets. You must not disappoint him. Live your life to the fullest."

"Yes," Hinata replied firmly.
