Chapter 42 - Shibuya Omake 1 : Vs Jogo

A/N : Ever wonder how the story would have gone if the author had done things differently? Of course you do, we wouldn't have "fanfictions" otherwise.

I can't explain how grateful I am to you guys, seeing how well the story is performing. If you ask me, I wouldn't change a thing with how much love you guys have given me.

And yet, the author inside me can't stay still when I wonder—just wonder—how things would have gone differently if I had taken different directions, which I had many of for the story, believe me.

Constantly balancing his power, not letting the story go off the rails by doing something stupid, making sure key events stay intact so the story goes on. And no more.

And as I said, I wouldn't change a thing in the story as it is right now, but I do wish to explore what would have happened if I had done things differently.

So, here it is, an Omake.

I intend to write an Omake of an entire arc which I completed, at the ending of it—like how I just completed Shibuya—and explore a few possibilities. Hope you like it.

These are the things I intended to do, more or less, but couldn't for the story's sake...

Also have a bigger chapter since I was not able to upload last few days due to being busy. Hope this makes up for that.

-X-

[Omake starts at chapter 12... till the end. Exploring what would have happened if I wasn't balancing his power early on...]

[I believe I don't have to state this separately, but none of what I'm about to write is part of the story. It's just a what-if... just making sure you don't fill my comment section asking why suddenly things don't make sense.]

[With that, enjoy the Omake]

[MC vs JOGO]

"Maki."

My eyes widened watching a 7-inch-long blade insert into the girl's abdomen so cleanly that even blood didn't have space to leak.

Maki's pained face, a line of blood leaking down from her mouth, burned inside me like I was the one getting stabbed. That was intended for me, and she took it to save me.

Anger—that was the only prominent feeling I felt then. Anger at the ridiculous situation I found myself in, anger at myself for being so weak, and anger at the curse spirits who just couldn't give me any break.

For God's sake, I just came here, got dragged into Satoru Gojo's domain, got my mind shattered, and ever since, I was just trying to survive. Just give me a damn break already.

Eyes bloodshot, I poured more cursed energy into my fist and punched with all my power, with nothing but getting even with that volcano bastard on my mind.

Of course, Jogo saw the attack coming; he was ready. However, at the last moment, he got distracted by something. I too felt it—malicious cursed energy—but I didn't care. I just wanted to punch him.

Jogo's momentary lapse of concentration was enough for me to drive my fist right into his skull with everything I had.

A shockwave tore through the station, followed by a bolt of black lightning, which I was quite familiar with.

Black lightning erupted out of my fist, distorting the very space, and the next second, I felt a jolt of clarity inside my mind, and the special grade volcano head was airborne.

The result was Jogo getting blasted into the wall of the lobby, breaking it outright, and still going strong until he met another building on the other side of the street.

Before I knew it, I was already moving toward the damn curse spirit, my eyes wandering toward Maki just for a second before snapping back at Jogo.

"The best way to help her is to take the special grade spirit away from here." I knew this, and so I did exactly that.

I sprinted at him and halfway got ready to deliver a flying kick onto the curse, but he surprisingly moved first, moving out of the place just in time and rotating his body to land a haymaker punch at me.

Adrenaline was coursing through my blood, I moved just in time, shifting my body mid-air and catching his hand, using my velocity and weight to throw him away.

Both of us stood up just in time and were already rushing at each other again.

My fist shot toward his face, he tilted his head slightly too easily, and my punch grazed past him, his counter came instantly, a straight strike aimed at my throat.

I blocked in time, however, the impact still numbed my hand.

But I found something, I was getting the hang of this power slowly. The elevated output and cursed energy were helping me stand up against him as I learned mid-fight.

He was both stronger and faster, and if the technique cooldown ended, then a lot more destructive, but I was catching up surprisingly well.

Though that didn't help me on the technique front, talking about actual fighting technique, that is, I was still a newbie in that.

Seeing his momentary lapse in balance after that blocked punch, I sent dozens of punches his way, most thrown at random, only focused on making them fast, while only a few had real intent to hurt behind them.

Jogo weaved through them all with ease, while his own fist slipped through my guard and slammed into my ribs out of nowhere, I could have sworn I heard something crack.

I was right, my lack of fighting experience was the biggest issue for me.

I staggered back with pain but stood my ground, because if I fell now, I was done for, not just me but even Maki.

I grabbed his arm before he could pull back and dragged him forward, throwing my head into his face.

"Don't get cocky..."

Blood spilled from my head, the world spinning for a second or two. My vision split into two, then four, and then eight, haze clouded my eyes.

I shouldn't do that anymore.

Self-harming as it was, it still did what I intended to do, Jogo recoiled back hastily, his own head seeming to bleed like mine.

I followed immediately, driving a punch straight into his chest. I couldn't even focus on him properly, however my instincts and recently found sense of cursed energy were telling me exactly where he was, so I just focused on that, followed my gut feeling, and punched.

Cursed energy surged once again, I felt my fist connecting in time, and then for a split second everything aligned again.

Black lightning tore open the space once more, erupting a shockwave which almost cleared my haze.

The world distorted as the impact landed.

Jogo's body folded before being blasted backwards once again, this time much faster, tearing through the ground as he was sent flying across the street, carving a path of destruction through concrete and debris.

'Follow... follow, follow him, don't let go,' my mind resonated with only this mantra, hammering the point into every breath I fought for. Because I couldn't let him catch his breath.

However, that was when my mind snapped—not the bad kind, but the kind which reminded me that it had recovered.

My technique... it had recovered.

It was much faster than I first anticipated it to be, and the obvious culprit was the two Black Flashes I landed.

I didn't even have to think before my body was already moving, gathering all the cursed energy into my hand, I pushed it down to the ground with force.

The second it hit, the ground burst open, a crack formed along the side of the smoothly built Shibuya street, and water came out like a natural disaster.

Jogo noticed it, of course, but that didn't prepare him for what came next.

A tsunami rose behind me.

Water roared into existence, vast and violent, swelling into a towering mass that blotted out everything in its path before crashing forward with unstoppable force.

The wave swallowed him whole, dragging everything along with it—cars, debris, concrete—everything reduced to nothing more than weight in the current.

And I knew this was my chance... I could end this fight now, this instant, and thus I ran along the destruction, chasing the breaking edge of the wave until I spotted him again, emerging from the aftermath, drenched and furious.

He reacted faster this time, faster than I expected honestly, slipping out of my landing spot by the nick of time.

However, that was the plan. What would I have done falling on top of him anyways? Crush him to death under my ass?

No... I just needed to get close enough. So I can do this.

"Domain Expansion."

My hands were already in my domain sign when I landed, Jogo's single eye widened when he realized what I was doing, he tried to move, to stop me, but it was already too late.

"Death Trade..."

Darkness swallowed everything.

My domain's barrier was faster this time, much faster, I was getting the hang of it. As the barrier spread, so did the darkness inside my domain. The dark fog rushed out, covering the surface of the barrier, until everything was bathed in it.

The familiar giant cross rose behind me, with weighing plates in its arms, and with its emergence, my domain finally encased us.

As for Jogo, he was helpless, his technique was still on cooldown. So he couldn't use his domain to counter mine.

However, he wasn't completely out of options, the technique which he learned to deal with Satoru Gojo was a trump card he held in his hands.

Cursed energy rolled off of him, turning a particular shade of white until it flowed like liquid, encasing his entire body like a bubble.

It was Domain Amplification.

Of course he would use that. I rolled my eyes in irritation. Should have thought of that earlier, that he also had that move in hand.

I exhaled slowly, not letting my anger distract me. God knows I needed focus to get rid of this bastard.

"…Did you really think you can win? I can hold like this until your domain collapses and then I'll burn you and that woman alive to a crisp," Jogo said with menace, his single eye narrowing as he took in the space around him.

"Yeah I know, I know... all villains do that, explaining their big bad plan. I'm not interested."

That seemed to enrage him more. Unfortunately for him, I wasn't planning to have it his way like before. While I indeed didn't take Domain Amplification into account, barely even recalled he could use it,

However, I did have a backup in mind.

Jogo was already moving, right at me, he couldn't use his technique because of cooldown, but even then he wouldn't have been able to, since using Domain Amplification and one's own technique wasn't possible. It goes against the nature of jujutsu itself.

So instead of throwing another fireball at me, he came himself, fist pulled back, aiming right for my head.

And just as he was near, something intercepted him. Just as his punch was near my face, it was stopped by another hand.

A smirk curled up at my lips at the curse spirit's astonishment when he saw who actually stopped him.

Red shell, hard as iron, looking like a cheap knock-off Cthulhu cosplayer. Who got the color theme wrong?

Jogo's eyes widened as much as they would go, to the point I could have just plucked them out if I had the reach.

"Dagon!"

He muttered in disbelief. All the strength from his earlier punch gone, he was too surprised to even move.

Dagon stood there, just a step to my side, hand raised to block the punch for me, his cursed energy, presence, everything was exactly like the curse who died a little while ago.

However, he was different in many regards, like there was no intent behind his actions, no consciousness or recognition. He just stood there like a puppet, like a robot waiting for orders to be given so he could execute them.

Jogo for a while just eyed the copy of Dagon standing beside me, protecting me, then his eye shifted slowly from him to me and then back to him again. For the first time since this fight began, something close to confusion flickered across his face.

"…What did you do?" he asked, voice low, controlled, but there was a sharp edge beneath it now.

I could practically feel heat radiating out of him even when his technique wasn't active currently.

I blinked, and then rolled my eyes, "I wouldn't have minded explaining my technique to you or anything, but I believe we are on the clock, aren't we? I can't let you recover your technique in due time now, can I?" I grinned and my body moved first.

And Dagon moved with me. At least the copy of him did.

We closed the distance at the same time, no signal, no hesitation, just instinct and command aligning perfectly as we attacked together.

My fist drove straight toward Jogo's face, forcing him to raise his arm and block, but the moment his guard shifted toward me, Dagon's strike came from the side, a heavy blow that slammed into his ribs and forced his stance to break.

He twisted, trying to recover, but I was already stepping in, not giving him even a fraction of space to breathe as I drove my shoulder into his chest, forcing him back just enough for Dagon to follow up with another hit, this one aimed higher, pushing his balance even further off.

Domain Amplification was supposed to dull everything, until they were cursed techniques that is. As for real physical attacks? Amplification can't do much against that.

I could feel it.

The rhythm of the fight after that was repetitive if anything, I punched, he blocked, and Dagon capitalized on that to land a hit of his own or vice versa.

He was getting jumped and he didn't have any way out of it, at least not until his technique recovered, which I wasn't planning to wait around for.

Jogo tried to create distance, his feet shifting back, but the moment he moved, I was already there again, forcing him to stay in place, while Dagon closed in from the other side, cutting off any attempt at escape.

A shikigami tore through Dagon's stomach, heading right at Jogo which he barely avoided, but I was already at his escape route and landed a powerful haymaker punch on his face.

He was thrown a few steps away but then got bombarded by water from Dagon.

At first it was small, barely noticeable, just a slight delay in his reactions, a fraction of a second where his movements weren't as clean as before, but as we kept pressing, kept forcing him to defend without pause, that fraction started to grow.

Even a domain can collapse if the user suffers enough damage inside it, this was still amplification.

The damage had his output on the decline, and even Domain Amplification was getting affected.

The tag team between me and Dagon was even better than, dare I say, me and Maki. Mostly because he was doing exactly what I wanted and how I wanted. There was no clash between our actions that way.

Jogo retaliated when he could, his strikes still heavy, still dangerous, and more than once I felt the impact of his attacks slip through my guard, sending jolts of pain through my already wrecked body.

Yeah, it hurt like hell, I better get a good compensation from the Jujutsu society after this, or I'm freaking losing it.

As time passed, I was getting more worried that at any moment he could recover his technique, and as time passed he was suffering more damage.

My punches, Dagon's shikigami and water.

Everything.

And he couldn't keep up. His breathing grew heavier, his movements now rougher and the cursed energy around him flickered, just for a moment—

Then stabilized again.

Just a little more, a little more and he will have a lapse in his focus, just enough for that amplification to wear off. Because when that happens, I can actually use my domain's function.

I forced myself forward again, ignoring the pain all over my body, throwing another punch just to keep his attention on me, and as expected, he blocked it, his focus shifting—

And that was when Dagon's next strike landed clean. A solid hit directly on his volcano head, strong enough to make his entire frame shudder.

And just then it happened, his amplification broke.

I didn't hesitate, not when I finally had that opening which I wanted.

"First Trade, I won't use Dagon as a fighting companion, and in return, you shall not use any anti-domain techniques."

The domain responded to my will instantly, the weight in the air shifting, and a little further away from me, Dagon's image flickered out. He was no longer for me to use until I changed the trade rules.

Jogo felt it instantly, he could no longer use Domain Amplification.

"What did you do?" He asked, both surprised and in haste.

"Nothing much, it's just a trade. Like this other one...."

The cursed energy once again shifted, tightening, the very space around both of us locking us into place as the trade I imposed took hold.

It was the simplest of trades, no movement from either side.

His eye widened as he tried to force even a single muscle to respond, but there was nothing, we couldn't move.

I exhaled, the breath coming out rough and uneven, my entire body trembling now that everything had finally aligned in my favor, "…Got you," I muttered, though even to my own ears the words sounded distant.

"Wh-what is this?" He panicked, unable to move.

"Welcome to my domain... you wanted an explanation right, well here is the gist of it. Inside my domain I can place trades, something with equal value.

Like how we both can no longer move, since the value on both sides was equal I could execute it." I stated, and Jogo blinked, finally figuring out what was happening, but then his mind went to Dagon.

I could practically hear what was going on inside that hot head of his. I didn't let him ask, I didn't have much time.

"Dagon, right!... you wanna know about him." I asked, and though he looked a bit taken aback, he nodded nonetheless.

"Placing trades inside my domain is secondary. All trades, in fact my domain, are secondary because it always comes with a preset trade applied to anyone who stands inside the domain.

The Trade Of Death..." I stated with a smirk.

Jogo didn't get it, his face said it all.

"Basically, I get all the power of the human or curse I kill inside the domain, it also goes the other way if they kill me inside my own domain. Well, I don't see that happening anytime soon, but that is indeed possible." I shrugged.

His single eye widened to epic proportions.

"Dagon..."

"Yes, yes..." I nodded, cutting him off, I didn't have much time, I had to explain my technique, get the boost to finish him off before his technique recovered.

"As for your friend, you see, besides using the power of those who died inside my domain, I can manifest them as well.

There are two ways, one outside my domain, which rather permanently erases their power, but they appear as a secondary fighting unit outside me, so their use of their technique doesn't exhaust me or use my cursed energy. Though later on I lose everything I had from him.

This one, which you saw, is a far more economical way, they only appear inside my domain and are not as strong as their original self, however, I get to keep their technique and power for later use.

Nice, isn't it." I winked.

Jogo was flabbergasted. Was that even possible? What kind of god-sent technique was this?

Anger clouded his mind when he realized that his friend's power was being stolen and this human wasn't letting him rest even after he was gone.

However, he was helpless. He couldn't even move, let alone do anything.

"And, what now? We both can't move, what is your great idea? Wait until the domain is down or my own technique recovers and then I'll kill both you and that woman out there by my own hands. I'll avenge Dagon." Jogo stated.

I just rolled my eyes, mostly ignoring him.

"Dude, if I didn't have a plan, why would I have done it?"

"Third Trade, exchanged cursed techniques between us temporarily."

"Huh?" Jogo blinked, anger at how easily I ignored his claims, but also confused at what I meant until he felt something inside him.

Like his very essence was changing internally. Cursed energy inside changed, twisted. The fire building inside him suddenly lost its heat, changed by something much calmer and colder.

Water...

He felt like drowning. He felt like his very nature had been altered.

And on the other side, I felt a jolt of heat ring inside me. There was so much that it almost felt like being burned alive.

However, I controlled the heat in time.

It was his technique, a trade between techniques, only possible as long as I had another technique outside the main original technique, Death Trade, to trade in.

"WHAT DID YOU DO!" Jogo shouted, he hadn't felt this uncomfortable in his entire life.

It was understandable, unlike humans, curses are very closely linked to their techniques. Their very nature revolves around it in fact.

So, if I were to change his technique for mine, it would affect him, especially when the given technique being traded actually came from Dagon, a water-based shikigami, the exact opposite of Jogo.

I checked out my own hands, focused and slowly the fire came to life, it was hard but I could use it.

Since it was a temporary exchange until Jogo died, my control was worse than what was possible with his fire.

"Good thing it's only in name, called technique burnout." I chuckled to myself, otherwise I would have given a completely usable technique to Jogo in exchange for a technique which was still on cooldown.

In reality, while it was called technique burnout, the part of the brain where the technique exists is at burnout. Not the technique itself.

That's why I can still use his technique while he can't use mine.

"Anyways... I hope you're ready." I grinned, and a slowly condensed line of fire left my hand.

Jogo's eye widened at what he saw. Not only was I using his technique, but I was also manipulating it better than him.

I shaped the flames and slowly an arrow was formed in my hand. Using both hands, I got into an archery stance.

"That...? how is this possible?" Jogo muttered in disbelief.

"Why not, I have found much is possible as long as one has the right value to pay..." I grinned and locked onto him.

Jogo clenched his fist, that was the only movement besides talking he could have afforded at that time.

"Don't be so down, Volcano Head...

Be proud, you're strong."

xXx

A/N : What you guys things, this are the ideas I didn't implement cause it would have made him too strong, there are few more you will see as this Shibuya Omake continue. And as states, I'm not capping his level and power here so he'll be getting stronger real quick.

Tell me If you have an Omake Idea and I'll see if I can do it. I'll be happy to see what else if possible with this technique.

And if you guys didn't like the Omake and rather focus more on the original story then that fine as well, just have to wait until they are over. There ain't much of them so don't worry, I got you.

Would appreciate stones if you can spare any. Thank you.
