Chapter 55 - The War That Ends Everything

Chapter 69: The War That Ends Everything

War didn't wait.

It didn't ask if you were ready.

It didn't care what you had to lose.

It came.

And this time—

They were ready for it.

The mansion was no longer just a home.

It was a fortress.

Armed.

Guarded.

Prepared.

Sophia stood at the center of it all.

No fear in her eyes.

No hesitation.

Just clarity.

Luciano watched her from across the room.

Not the girl he had taken.

Not even just the woman he loved.

Something more.

A queen.

Her father stood beside him.

Silent.

Observing.

For once—

They weren't opposing forces.

They were aligned.

Because Vittorio had made one mistake.

He gave them time.

And time—

Was all they needed.

"He'll hit us directly now," Luciano said.

Sophia nodded.

"He has to."

A pause.

"He's revealed himself."

Her father stepped forward.

"He'll want to finish it fast."

"Then we don't let him control the ending," Sophia replied.

Silence.

Luciano looked at her.

"What's the plan?"

Sophia stepped toward the map.

"This ends where it started."

A pause.

"With him."

She pointed to a location.

Remote.

Heavily fortified.

Vittorio's base.

Luciano's eyes darkened.

"You want to walk into his territory."

"I want to end his control," she corrected.

A beat.

"We hit everything at once."

Her father tilted his head slightly.

"Explain."

Sophia's voice stayed calm.

"We divide his attention."

"Multiple strikes."

"Make him think we're spreading out."

Luciano caught on immediately.

"But we're not."

Sophia met his gaze.

"We're going straight for him."

Silence.

Dangerous.

Calculated.

"He won't expect that," Luciano said.

"No," Sophia agreed.

"He expects strategy."

A pause.

"So we give him inevitability."

Her father studied her.

Then—

He nodded slowly.

"This ends tonight."

The operation began at dusk.

The sky burned orange—

Like it knew.

Multiple teams moved out.

Targets hit simultaneously.

Explosions in the distance.

Gunfire echoing across the city.

Chaos.

Exactly as planned.

Vittorio's forces responded instantly.

Divided.

Pulled in every direction.

And in the middle of it all—

Luciano, Sophia, and her father moved forward.

Toward the center.

Toward him.

The base was massive.

Guarded.

But not enough.

They breached it.

Fast.

Deadly.

Luciano moved like a storm.

Precise.

Unstoppable.

Her father was no different.

Experience.

Control.

And Sophia—

She kept up.

Not reckless.

Focused.

Every move calculated.

Every step forward earned.

"Left," she said sharply.

Luciano turned instantly—

Taking down a hidden attacker.

"Clear," he confirmed.

They moved deeper.

Closer.

The air grew heavier.

Like the building itself knew—

This was the end.

They found him at the center.

Waiting.

Of course he was.

Vittorio stood calmly.

Like this was all expected.

"I was wondering how you'd play it," he said.

Luciano stepped forward.

"It's over."

Vittorio smiled faintly.

"That's what they all say."

His gaze shifted to Sophia.

"You came."

She didn't hesitate.

"I finish what I start."

That amused him.

"I can see that."

Her father stepped forward.

"You betrayed me."

Vittorio's expression didn't change.

"I outgrew you."

Silence.

Luciano's voice dropped.

"You targeted her."

Vittorio's eyes darkened slightly.

"She's the future."

A pause.

"And I intend to control it."

That was the last thing he said calmly.

Because the next moment—

Everything exploded.

Gunfire.

Chaos.

The final battle began.

Luciano moved first.

Fast.

Taking down attackers before they could react.

Her father covered the other side.

Sophia stayed sharp.

Not freezing.

Not breaking.

She moved when she needed to—

Fired when she had to—

Survived.

Because this wasn't just war.

This was the end.

And she wasn't losing.

Luciano reached Vittorio first.

The two men faced off.

Power against power.

"End of the line," Luciano said.

Vittorio smirked slightly.

"We'll see."

They clashed.

Not clean.

Not controlled.

Brutal.

Because this wasn't about strategy anymore.

This was personal.

Sophia watched—

Heart pounding—

But she didn't interfere.

She trusted him.

Just like he trusted her.

Her father moved to her side.

"This ends now," he said quietly.

Sophia nodded.

"Yes."

Because no matter what happened next—

One thing was certain.

This war—

Would not continue.

It would end.
