Chapter 8 - Chapter 008: Rank Immunity!

"Bind term: crystal palace!" Su Ye said slowly, choosing to bind the term.

The moment Su Ye bound the term...

Lilith, sitting by the lake, looked toward the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary: "Has the potential increased?"

Then, with a smile, Lilith watched the Original Sin Fallen Angels playing naked in the lake. These Fallen Angels hadn't noticed yet, or rather, they didn't have the strength to notice.

Su Ye looked at the Lord's Heart panel; there was now an additional term.

terms are something that must be bound. Every time the Lord's Heart levels up, there is only one chance to bind; you either give it up or bind it—there are only those two options.

Not binding is also an option, but it's equivalent to wasting that level-up for your Lord's Heart.

"There are still two thousand nine hundred origin crystals left." Su Ye looked at his origin crystals, and after hesitating for a moment, he chose to give up on the idea of continuing to level up.

It wasn't that Su Ye didn't want to keep leveling up to get more terms.

The main reason was that as a Lord's level increases, the difficulty of the Void Trial also increases; this is adjusted in real-time. Currently, Lilith and the others were only black iron 3-Star.

Although they were God-grade troops, the Lord World has a very special mechanic: Rank Suppression. There is a rank gap between black iron and Bronze Rank.

However, Rank Suppression is a type of level-based suppression. In terms of data, a black iron Rank creature deals at most fifty percent damage to a Bronze Rank creature.

This kind of Rank Immunity is the most terrifying thing. It's only after reaching diamond that such Rank Immunity gradually decreases or even disappears.

This is something all Lords know. Back in school, teachers constantly emphasized not to level up the Lord's Heart in the early stages, and to only consider it after the troops' levels have caught up.

This is a suppression regarding levels, a system similar to a rule, and has nothing to do with the troop's grade. A troop's grade represents its strength relative to others at the same level.

Because of Rank Immunity, Su Ye didn't plan on taking risks now. After all, Lilith and the others were only black iron 3-Star. To put it clearly, they were invincible at the same level.

If he raised his level and opened an Abyss difficulty trial, there was no guarantee that Bronze Rank entities wouldn't appear. If he suffered a setback, it would be quite embarrassing.

To suffer a setback with God-grade troops would truly be pathetic.

Mainly, the number of troops was too small. Su Ye only had twenty units of troops right now. If he had more, he might consider giving it a try.

With few numbers and low levels, there was no need to take risks. He would just follow this step-by-step stable development. Raising one level a day was already enough to surpass other novice Lords.

origin crystals are a hard currency just like gold coins, only more valuable.

Don't think obtaining origin crystals is easy. According to the information released by the Lord World, origin crystals cannot be obtained from Normal difficulty Void Trials.

To get origin crystals, one needs to play at Nightmare difficulty for a chance; there's no chance below Nightmare. Furthermore, in Nightmare difficulty, they can only be found in treasure chests and cannot be obtained by decomposing corpses.

For other Lords, being able to level up within the first ten days of the novice period is considered a good thing, let alone one level per day.

Su Ye opened the chat channel and looked at the messages inside.

[Brothers, let me ask, has anyone passed the Void Trial yet?]

[Stop asking, there are definitely people who passed. Don't choose high difficulty; just pick Normal difficulty to scrape some resources together first and develop slowly.]

[If you want to die, choose high difficulty; that way you can die faster.]

[Asking weakly, I have Rank 10 troops, what difficulty should I choose?]

[I suggest you go straight for Abyss difficulty! Rank 10 troops, you're the chosen one! Brother, remember to carry me when you take off.]

[Fuck you, choose Abyss difficulty? Do you think I'm an idiot?]

[You're not an idiot, you're just a poser, you dumb dog.]

...

Su Ye looked at the messages in the chat channel. Well, it was very unpretentious; greetings to family members were everywhere. Some were jealous, some were posers getting shut down, and others had already started blaming everyone but themselves.

This was normal. If Su Ye didn't have a good talent and a good novice barracks, he would probably complain a bit too. People are double-standard, and Su Ye was no exception.

[Otherworld Traveler: Buying seed of darkness, PM me if you have any, price will satisfy you.]

[Otherworld Traveler: Buying seed of darkness, PM me if you have any, price will satisfy you.]

[Otherworld Traveler: Buying seed of darkness, PM me if you have any, price will satisfy you.]

...

Otherworld Traveler was Su Ye's handle in the chat channel. When out in the world, what decent person uses their real name? Do you? Well, I certainly don't.

The seed of darkness is a treasure of the Rarity grade; treasure grades are the same as wonder grades.

They can be opened from the rating chests of the Void Trial. There are at least billions of novice Lords in the same batch.

There should be novice Lords who have opened a seed of darkness, and some who have opened barracks, but it's unknown if they are willing to trade.

Su Ye had no other choice but to try this clumsy method to see if he could find someone willing to trade.

Although the Trading House was sealed, novice Lords could PM each other for private trades; this was limited only to private trades between novice Lords.

This could be considered the will of the eternal world leaving a lifeline for some novice Lords.

Some novice Lords had poor troops but good territory resources yet couldn't trade, while others opened resources they didn't need and also needed to swap. This was the significance of PM trading.

"It's a pity Merchant Lords haven't appeared yet, but it should be soon. At the latest, by the third day of the novice period, the first batch of Merchant Lords will appear. It'll be much simpler then," Su Ye couldn't help but think.

Merchant Lords appear in every generation of novice Lords. These individuals usually have talents leaning towards commerce or trading, or they might be people from large chambers of commerce.

Their existence is a good thing for both powerful Lords and ordinary Lords.

Powerful Lords only need to find them to buy resources, and can even have them set aside specific items, provided they have enough money.

Ordinary Lords can also trade their resources to Merchant Lords and let the Merchant Lords sell them.

It's a good thing for all Lords. Of course, some call them profiteers, but that's a matter of opinion. For Su Ye, the benefit of finding a Merchant Lord was efficiency; he wouldn't have to waste his own time.

Whatever he needed, as long as he had the resources, he could just ask a Merchant Lord to keep an eye out for him. Spending a bit more resources was not a problem at all for Su Ye.

Similarly, for powerful Lords, things that can be settled with money are never an issue. What they want is efficiency, not spending a large amount of time searching.
