The next morning, long before the alarm was set to go off, Gardevoir opened her eyes early. A sly glint flashed in her eyes as she looked at the sleeping Ash.
Using her psychic powers to stealthily levitate Pikachu off Ash's head, she slowly leaned in toward Ash's face.
Riiiing!!!
Before Gardevoir could execute her master plan, Ash's alarm clock went off. Ash's eyes snapped open instantly, making Gardevoir want to smash the damn clock to pieces.
"Time to get up. Morning, Gardevoir. Wake up, everyone!"
"Gar..." (Damn alarm clock...)
Seeing Gardevoir looking visibly depressed, Ash wanted to comfort her for a second, but a gut feeling warned him that comforting her right now would lead to a very dangerous situation.
"Squirtle!" (Morning!)
"Arbak!" (Morning!)
"Meowth. Boss, let's go get breakfast, they have ketchup over there, you don't need to bring yours. After that, we need to go wake Lara and the girls up."
After Ash woke the girls, the whole group ate breakfast together while discussing what to do with Hunter Y with Officer Jenny.
"Officer Jenny, we'll hand this Hunter Y guy over to you to process. As for their airship, Matori, you guys can tow it away. The wreckage from Hunter X's ship is already enough for our research."
Hearing Ash's proposition, Matori nodded. "That works. We'll also start decrypting their tech on our end. If we make a breakthrough, we'll share it with you. How does this arrangement sound to you, Officer Jenny?"
Since Matori asked directly, Jenny replied, "No problem at all. We really owe it all to Ash this time, otherwise this incident would have been a massive headache."
Seeing that neither Jenny nor Matori had any objections, Ash was just about to say something when a Continental Hotel employee came running in. "Boss! A massive airship is approaching!"
"Hm? Let's go take a look!"
Outside the tent, a gigantic airship was slowly descending. A man wearing sunglasses seemed to be waiting for Ash. Upon seeing Ash's group emerge, he smiled and said, "Hello there, Mr. Ash."
Ash tilted his head at the guy. "And you are?"
"Oh, my apologies, I haven't introduced myself. You may call me 'A'. You could say I'm the leader of the Hunter Organization."
"Oh... and?"
Seeing Ash's 'what the hell do you want' expression, A felt a sudden urge to punch him. But to maintain his refined composure, Hunter A smiled and said, "I expect you to return my people. If you do, perhaps we can become friends."
Ash, Misty, and the others exchanged exhausted looks, not really knowing what to say to this guy's overwhelming arrogance. Ash just facepalmed and sighed, "May I ask where this confidence comes from? Is it your big airship, or do you just have a lot of guys?"
Stomp!
As soon as Ash finished speaking, a massive crowd of Continental Hotel employees took a unified step forward, glaring menacingly at A.
Seeing that Ash was clearly picking a fight, A gave an elegant bow. "My confidence comes from sheer power, naturally. Go! My Pokémon!"
A tossed out six Poké Balls, releasing six Elite-level Pokémon. And all six of them were Pseudo-Legendaries.
"Let's see here. Kommo-o, Hydreigon, Garchomp, Salamence, Tyranitar, and a Metagross. All Pseudo-Legendaries. And they're Elite-level too. No wonder the Hunter Organization is so hard to pin down. You actually have a top-tier powerhouse holding the fort."
A was briefly stunned when Ash casually deduced his Pokémon were Elite-level, but he quickly smirked. "Well? Now do you understand where my confidence comes from?"
Seeing A acting so cocky, Lara silently pulled out a Poké Ball, but Ash shook his head. "I'll take this guy. You guys handle the rest... Since Mr. A was kind enough to show off his Pokémon first, it'd be rude of me not to return the favor. Everyone, let's introduce ourselves to Mr. A!"
"Bark!" (Let's fight!)
"Pidge!" (Right on time!)
"Buzz!" (I'll end this quickly.)
"Gar!" (A bunch of Dragon-types... perfect!)
"Hiss!" (Let's slaughter them.)
"Arbak!" (Just butcher them!)
Arcanine, Pidgeot, Beedrill, Gardevoir, Arbok, and Rapidash released their auras—all Elite-level, some even peaking at the top of the Elite tier.
A's smug face finally crumbled.
