Chapter 50 - Chapter 48

night.

Osborne Estate.

The once magnificent manor now appeared unusually lifeless.

Aside from the Osborn Corporation executives who rushed in and then walked out with indifferent expressions, the vast estate was filled with such people.

All that remained were the servants, silent and trembling, walking around the manor, and the fully armed security team patrolling the manor.

"Jack, ha... how long until Harry comes back?"

In a dark room deep within the manor, two blurry figures stood and lay down.

Standing by the bed, dressed in a tailcoat, was Jack, the old butler who had worked at Osborne Estate for two generations.

The one lying in bed could only be the owner of the manor, Norman Osborne himself.

Butler Jack bowed respectfully to Norman on the bed and replied:

"Master, I have followed your instructions and notified the young master to return as soon as possible. He has agreed and should be back within this month."

"Within this month?" Norman asked, pulling off the respirator from his face. His voice turned serious.

"No, he must be back by next week. I... cough cough, I'm afraid I can't hold on for that long..."

"Without Richard, Connors is a useless piece of trash. His lizard regeneration serum failed after ten years, and with it, my last hope of healing also failed!"

"Now those vampires in Osborne's upper echelons know I'm finished, and they're all eyeing my position, hoping I'll die soon!"

"I...I must give everything to Harry, my company, and...the hope for the Osborne family to continue before I die!"

Upon hearing this, Jack trembled slightly and asked with a complicated expression, "You mean...Spider-Man?"

"That's right…" Norman slowly sat up in bed.

His face emerged from the shadows for the first time, a face completely different from that of ordinary people.

A normal person's complexion, besides yellow, white, and black, is only red when they are emotionally agitated.

But at this moment, Norman's face had an extremely abnormal grayish-green color!

It was like a zombie that had been dead for some time, with even its eyes faintly flashing with green light!

Norman's face suddenly twisted and contorted, and his voice became hoarse and crazed:

"I knew the moment I saw that so-called Spider-Man on the news, his powers were definitely given by the correct Super Spider Formula that Richard, that traitor, took away!"

"Only the super spiders bred by Richard can grant humans effects surpassing those of Dr. Erskine's super soldier serum!"

"And the Super Spider is the only way to cure the Osborn family's genetic disease, besides the lizard regeneration serum!"

"Therefore, we must capture Spider-Man at all costs!"

Even Jack, the old butler who had seen off a generation of the Osborn family, was so frightened by Norman's devilish appearance that he instinctively took two steps back.

He looked at the old man before him and felt a sense of unfamiliarity, as if Norman had become a completely different person...

Jack swallowed hard, his throat dry, and said in a trembling voice, "..."

"Sir, have you increased the dosage of that medicine again? Dr. Ophelia Sarkissian said that although she used a method of fighting poison with poison to combine the imperfect lizard regeneration serum and the venom of the super spider to create a special medicine that could slow down your condition..."

"But Dr. Ophelia Sarkissian also said that it can only prolong your life, not cure your genetic disease, and it must never be used in excess, otherwise it will have unpredictable and serious consequences..."

...

After a few seconds of silence, Norman's crazed expression suddenly returned to calm, and he said indifferently:

"I know my body better than you do. I don't know if there will be unpredictable consequences if the dosage isn't increased, but I certainly won't last until Harry comes back…"

"So go ahead, and get Harry back as soon as possible..."

"Master…yes." Jack looked at the master who had become familiar again, his eyes slightly moist, and he lowered his head, turning to leave.

He knew that he might be saying goodbye to another generation of the Osborne family who had died from a hereditary disease...

Thinking back to Norman's father, it was he who saw Norman off...

"Wait..." Just before Jack was about to leave the room, Norman called him back again.

As soon as Jack turned around, he saw Norman toss a USB drive toward him, which he quickly caught.

Norman lay back down in the shadows of the bed, his voice low and menacing:

"These are all the investment projects I left for Harry that could potentially cure the Osborn family's hereditary disease. I don't have time to verify them one by one..."

"If Harry comes back and I'm no longer here, give it to Harry and let him find his own hope..."

Listening to his master's words, which sounded like his last, Jack could no longer bear to stay and turned away from Norman's room with tears in his eyes.

He couldn't show weakness or shed tears in front of the master. He still had to prepare for the master's funeral, take care of the young master for the master, and see the young master recover and give birth to a healthy baby!

Thump——————

As Jack walked along, making resolutions in his mind, unsurprisingly, something unexpected happened.

He had only taken a few steps out of Norman's room when, as if struck by a hundred-ton king, his aged body flew out like a broken sack and crashed into the wall of Norman's room!

When Jack's twisted body, streaked with blood, slid down the wall, he was bleeding from all seven orifices and was beyond dead...

The person who caused Jack's tragic death was, of course, Lock , who had just finished clearing out the security team from the manor and arrived at the scene.

As soon as he arrived, he saw Norman's number one henchman coming out of Norman's room with something in his hand, and naturally, he couldn't let him go.

Lock casually stuffed the USB drive he had snatched from the butler when he knocked him away into his pocket and walked step by step toward Norman's room.

Lock kicked open the security door that required a password and swaggered inside.

However, Norman was not in the room; there was only an empty hospital bed and the beeping of medical equipment.

But Lock wasn't in a hurry at all; instead, he went straight to a bookshelf.

That's right, this is the location of the hidden safe house entrance in the manor layout diagram that Kingpin gave him.

Lock thrust his arms like arrows into the wooden bookshelf, forcefully prying it open to both sides!

As splinters of wood flew, the bookshelf split in two, revealing a heavy, silver metal door to Lock .
