Chapter 101 - Ch 101- Retreat

"I heard our pet was taken care of, so I came to check it out. I didn't expect such a big harvest! The White Whale that ran rampant for four hundred years has been eliminated!"

The gluttony Archbishop gesticulated wildly, his arm, with the arm-blade strapped to it, constantly wiping away the drool that spilled from the corners of his mouth. His turbid eyes darted around unnaturally, greedily scanning the corpses on the ground.

"I thought it might be a good dish~" He suddenly prostrated himself on the ground, sniffing the bloody air like a wild beast, "Ah~ This smell! It really didn't disappoint me!"

As he spoke, his emotions grew more agitated. He spread his hands exaggeratedly, tilted his head back, and let out a manic cry to the sky.

"So good! So good! How good! How good! Still good! Also good! Very good! Really good! Too~ good~!"

Carlisle frowned deeply, completely unable to comprehend the mad ramblings. Magical radiance began to emanate from his body, and his sword tip pointed directly at the two Witch Cultists.

Seeing the Knight assume a fighting stance, the Greed Archbishop, Regulus, sighed dramatically.

"Why must there be conflict? I hate conflict the most! After all, I am a perfect existence, and such low-level violent tastes have long been irrelevant to me~"

She suddenly pointed at the corpses on the ground. "Those dead people are also at fault! Who told them to violate my right to take lives! This is their fault! I clearly did nothing and yet was attacked, it's too much!"

Hearing this, the fury in Carlisle's eyes almost solidified. His voice was terrifyingly low.

"Witch Cult... what do you take life for!"

A fierce sword aura instantly slashed out, but it shattered again before Regulus.

"I say…"

Regulus drew out her words, "Are you even listening to me? I already said I hate conflict, and men like you are just like this, relying on a handsome face to do whatever you want with other people's kindness~"

She suddenly showed an innocent smile again. "But if you stop violating my rights… I wouldn't mind having a good story with you."

"Don't joke around." Carlisle's voice was icy cold. "I have nothing to say to you."

As he spoke, the aura around him continuously rose. Magical radiance condensed in the air, and hundreds of ice cones, fireballs, whirlwinds, and amethyst arrows appeared behind him, firmly protecting the injured soldiers and Lady Crusch. The entire battlefield was enveloped by this terrifying magical fluctuation, and even the air began to distort.

"Sir Carlisle!"

Although the severed arm still throbbed, Lady Crusch still forced herself to stand up. She looked in shock at the Knight who was facing the two Archbishops of Sin alone, her voice filled with unprecedented urgency.

"Lady Crusch! Get away from the battlefield quickly!"

Carlisle shouted without looking back. This was not a foolish act of heroism, but an instinctive warning from countless battles. Every nerve in his body screamed danger; the oppressive feeling this white-haired woman gave him far exceeded the White Whale. That premonition of death, like a thorn in his back, made every hair on his body stand on end.

"Ah ah ah ah! Love! Chivalry! How noble!" The gluttony Archbishop Ley showed an exaggerated expression of emotion on his face. His turbid eyes stared fixedly at Carlisle.

"What is your name? Tell me! Let me remember the name of this delicacy that is about to become my meal!"

Carlisle turned his sword. "Royal Knights Order of Lugunica, Carlisle Eltheran!"

Every word of his voice carried bone-chilling killing intent.

"Then I… shall begin!" Ley's bloodshot eyes bulged, and his mouth stretched to his ears, revealing jagged fangs.

In an instant, dozens of magical beams erupted from around Carlisle. Blazing fireballs, sharp ice cones, and howling whirlwinds intertwined into a net of death, but Ley's body twisted and dodged at ergonomically impossible angles. He moved through the gaps in the magic like a slippery eel, narrowly avoiding fatal attacks each time.

Carlisle's eyes narrowed, and he suddenly changed tactics. His right hand drew a complex trajectory with his longsword. All the scattered magical attacks sharply turned in mid-air, assailing the two Archbishops of Sin simultaneously from all directions. The magic formed a crossfire, and whirlwinds swept up amethyst arrows to create an inescapable net—a sure-kill situation that was absolutely impossible to dodge!

However, Ley's reaction was even faster. He let out a strange cry and directly pounced behind Regulus. Just as the magic was about to hit, Regulus said impatiently.

"So noisy."

Amidst the deafening explosion, the earth trembled violently. The shockwave blew away all the debris within a hundred meters, but when the smoke cleared, a chilling scene appeared.

Regulus hadn't even a wrinkle on her clothes, and she was dismissively brushing off non-existent dust. Ley peered out from behind her, grinning like a cat that had stolen a fish.

Carlisle's pupils contracted violently. He clearly saw that at the moment of the explosion, all magical energy had eerily "stopped" before touching Regulus, as if time had frozen in mid-air, then silently dissipated.

"This is impossible…" Lady Crusch murmured from behind. She clutched her severed arm. As someone who had personally participated in the White Whale subjugation, she was well aware of the power of Carlisle's magic, a terrifying force capable of vaporizing city walls and steel.

"I say–"

Regulus drew out her words, "Do you really want to die so badly? I've been so gentle with you, and you should know that being treated so roughly would make even someone with my exceptionally good temper angry!"

"Men like you, who neither observe basic social etiquette nor understand moral norms, even if I have a slight fondness for your face, isn't this going too far? You're practically trampling on my pure maiden's heart!"

Regulus suddenly put a hand to her cheek. "As the most perfect existence in this world, facing your rude and disrespectful behavior, all I can do is uphold my most basic rights." Her voice suddenly rose, "But! But! Before that! Are you going to reject my feelings again!?"

She stamped her foot, her white long boots creating small pits in the ground.

"What is wrong with you, man! Are you really heartless? Can't you see how rare it is for a perfect woman like me to show you favor? The whole world has countless people lining up, wanting to gain my approval!"

Carlisle remained silent, raising his hand to send another fierce sword aura, but the attack still shattered and dissipated before her.

"Ah ah ah! Unreasonable! Absolutely unreasonable!" Regulus spun in place like a pouting princess, "To repeatedly reject the perfect me! Fine! Anyway, I don't want to be in a relationship with a shallow man like you, who is useless except for his face!"

She suddenly stopped, raised her chin, and put on an arrogant expression. "However~ my virtue is truly too noble, so noble that even I am moved~ So all I can do is elegantly uphold my sacred rights~" Her sweet voice suddenly turned sinister, "Let a clueless fellow like you personally experience how inferior you are compared to a saint like me~"

"First, let's start with punishing your impolite hands~ To dare point a sword at a lady, truly unforgivable~"

Regulus casually raised her slender arm and waved it gently, as if shooing away an annoying fly.

Along the path traced by her Fingers, space shattered layer by layer like fragile glass. A void rift rapidly spread in the direction of her arm's swing, and the ground in its wake was cleaved open as if by an invisible giant blade, instantly forming a chasm dozens of meters deep. It pulverized all the corpses and dragon carriage wreckage in its path!

"Yin Sealing Technique!"

Carlisle deployed his strongest defense barrier. The magic circle spun rapidly before him, but the moment that spatial rift touched the barrier

Crack!

The top-tier defensive magic, capable of withstanding any physical attack, shattered inch by inch like thin ice. The barrier couldn't even hold for a second, dissolving into a shower of light fragments amidst a piercing sound of breaking.

"What…?!"

Carlisle's body reacted before his mind could. He leaped sideways with all his might, but the attack range was simply too vast. The edge of the space-tearing slash lightly grazed his left arm.

Sizzle!

Every inch of flesh, bone, and nerve of his entire arm, from shoulder to Fingers, exploded under the terrifying force of the law! It turned into a bloody mist and completely vanished from this world.
