Synopsis
After dying in a tragic accident, Elena Alvarez wakes up in an impossible new reality—one that feels strangely familiar. She soon realizes she has been reborn inside the world of the TV series The Rookie, just days before graduating from the LAPD Academy. Even more shocking, she’s part of the same rookie class as John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the academy and the central figure of the show she once binge-watched. Assigned to Mid-Wilshire Division alongside rookies Lucy Chen and Jackson West, Elena begins her career under the supervision of training officer Talia Bishop—the same officer responsible for guiding Nolan. As Elena steps into the unpredictable world of real police work, she must decide whether to follow the timeline she remembers or risk changing it. With every call, every case, and every choice, the future of Mid-Wilshire—and the lives of the people she now calls partners—may begin to shift. The question is whether knowing the future will help Elena save lives… or create an entirely new and more dangerous story.

Chapter 1 - Reborn in The Rookie

This story will have Third Person and first person POVS at some points during all chapters if I like either more this message will disappear and I will have changed the chapter(s) to the wanted POV. I own nothing in this story save for my Original Character Elena Alverez. This is my first story I have written and posted to any where be constructive or be deleted from the comments.

THIRD POV

The last thing Sam remembered from when she was driving home from her dead-end job at the convenience store was a sudden blinding glare of headlights from the truck that drifted into her lane right at the last second, then just darkness, no pain, just darkness.

When Elena opened her eyes again, the world smelled of floor polish, and she heard people writing with pencils. She was sitting in a classroom, a classroom full of people wearing LAPD academy uniforms. Her heart jumped into her throat. Wait… She looked down at her own hands. Strong. Slightly calloused. A small bruise along her knuckle. Her mind flooded with memories that didn't belong to her old life starting 18 signing up for the military as a Corpsman serving over seas seeing people die Infront of her, serving her time then getting out and almost immediately applying for the LAPD academy. She was now Elena Alvarez 26 year old police officer aspirant. She remembers running laps at dawn, firearms practice, law lectures and one fact repeating in her head like a broken record: LAPD Academy – Graduation Week. Elena's breathing quickened. Because she recognized this. She recognized everything. This wasn't just any police academy. This was the academy from The Rookie. Her favorite show. The one she had binge-watched obsessively. Which meant only one thing. Her eyes darted around the room. And then she saw him. Tall. Slightly awkward posture. Nervous smile. John Nolan. Her brain short-circuited. No way. But there he was, sitting two rows ahead, listening carefully while scribbling notes. The oldest rookie in the academy. Exactly like in the show. Which meant— She wasn't just reborn in this world. She was reborn into the same rookie class.

Graduation Day. the sun beat down on the academy yard as the rookie class stood in formation. Elena tried to steady her nerves. She knew what came next. The show had started right after graduation. The rookies would be assigned to the Mid-Wilshire Division. They'd meet their training officers. And chaos would begin. The instructor walked down the line, stopping in front of each cadet. "cadets Torres… West… Chen…" Elena's heart pounded. "Alvarez." She stepped forward. "Assigned to Mid-Wilshire." Her stomach flipped. It's really happening. Mid-Wilshire Division the division that it all happens at.

First day at Mid-Wilshire

Roll Call The station was louder than Elena imagined from watching the show. Phones ringing, officers laughing, radios crackling. It felt alive. She sat in the rookie row beside Lucy Chen and across from Jackson West. And next to her— John Nolan. He gave her a friendly smile. "First day nerves?" Elena forced a small laugh. "You could say that." I know at least three life-threatening things that will happen in the next few months, she thought. Before she could say anything else, a voice cut through the room.

"Alright, listen up. We have some new blood here today and some that is pushing expiration. " Everyone straightened. At the front stood Sergeant Wade Grey. "You may have survived the academy," Grey said, "but that doesn't make you police officers." He pointed toward the door. "Out there is where the real job begins." Elena swallowed. Because she knew how dangerous that "real job" would be. "Lucy Chen the hotshot that made her first arrest before clocking in for work, Jackson West who broke all of his dads records at the academy, John Nolan who was born before disco died, and Elena Alverez who managed to break the academy marksmanship record. " Grey stated.

Gray looked down then said "Officer Bradford you get the hotshot" Lucy's face fell slightly when she turned around and saw him. Elena almost laughed. "Officer Lopez you get our legacy. Officer Bishop the 40 year old rookie, and Alverez you are with bishop while i work on getting you a Training officer for you."

Then Grey looked at the last two rookies. "Nolan." Standing beside them was a familiar officer. Talia Bishop. Grey nodded toward her. "Bishop, you're taking these two Alverez you will be floating between you, Lopez, and Bradford." Nolan blinked. "Two rookies?" Bishop sighed. "Lucky me."

"Bishop before you take your rookies i need to talk to officer Nolan."

She pointed toward the door. "Come on lets get our gear to the kit room." As Bishop and Alverez walked out of the briefing room following her to the kit room. as they were grabbing the warbags Nolan joined them at the desk each taking a bag and a shotgun as they walked out to the barking garage Bishop asked Nolan what Gray wanted with him "He wished me luck."

Bishop looked at him with a dead stare " this training relationship will get off to a bad start if you start lying to me on the first day."

"Sergeant Gray does not appear to be a fan of my presence in his department." As he correct him self Elena felt the weight was lifted causing her to stop and wonder what that was.

"Why because your old as hell I just want to know if you will be a speed bump on my path to Chief of police."

They walked out to the top of the parking garage to put their gear in the shop and to do a walk around of it for the first day walking them through the first things that are required of them. "This is your shop. Do not call it a car. It is where you work not for you to leisure drive in." As she walked around the shop. "First check exterior for damage log anything thing you see I mean anything nicks, scraps, or dents log them. Then check the back of the shop has the suspect left anything money, drugs a dookie. Why are you standing there walk check everything I just listed go."

"Now the shotgun safety check verify its empty, close the action make sure it has shells load but not in the chamber. Now go over what should be in the warbags." As her and Nolan listed stuff Elena was setting the bags and shotguns in the back as she walked back to stand by Nolan she listed out the items after she came to a stop by him. "Spike strips, police tape, road flares."

"Now the last thing before you get in the shop"

Nolan said "body cam test. Officer Nolan Yippee-ki-yay"

"What are you doing."

"Nothing Ma'am"

As they were doing that Elena stepped to the side to perform he Body cam test too. "Officer Elena Alverez Testing 123"

"Nolan front seat Alverez back seat now get into the car Log in to the computer, put in our serial number then test the lights and sirens. Finally check yourselves" confusing both Nolan and Alverez "you are going to be hitting the streets with a loaded handgun and have surprises hit you at every call and every traffic stop you will perform." as she finished the instruction they got a radio from dispatch "7-Adam-15, family dispute 1401 West Sycamore the address has history of domestic calls."

"7-Adam-15, roger."

Los Angeles passed by the windows—busy streets, traffic, sunlight reflecting off skyscrapers. It felt surreal. Her life had restarted. New body. New future. But she still had something powerful, knowledge. She was aware of the major events that would unfold in the world. Shootouts. Gang operations. Hostage situations. Moments where someone almost died or did die Jackson and the Captain.

As they rolled up to the address listed for the 911 call Nolan asked" what do you want us to do"

"Lets see what y'all can do Nolan knock and Alverez behind him I'll watch from the bottom right"

After Nolan knocked on the door a big heavy set guy answered flanked by a woman caring her dog. "You all right, ma'am?" Nolan asked only to get cut off by the guy stating she's fine and how we need to leave.

As Nolan made small talk Alverez examined the front of the house and looked around the small view she had into the house. Nolan stepped out of the house with the man to talk to him outside as Officer Bishop and Alverez stayed to talk to the woman.

As Bishop and Alverez stepped inside Bishop started to have a quick glance around the house from the living room as the wife stepped to the kitchen to grab a drink. stated saying "I have had this conversation more times then I can count and they end the same if he hits you press charges or eventually you will get it bad enough one time and it will kill you"

"You got it wrong. My husband just looks aggro, most of the time he's a block of wood, emotionally speaking. I push his buttons just to rile him up."

Bishop looked at Alverez and motion for her to go get with Nolan and compare notes. As she stepped out, she over heard the man say "She's the one that throws down. Hell, that girls got a crazy temper."

"meaning she hits you?" Nolan asked as Bishop came out of the house finished with the woman

"You good out here?"

"yeah."

"7-Adam-15 code 4, show us clear." As they walked away Nolan asked "what do you think."

"that we or other officers will be back to the address."

LATER---

Officers Bishop, Nolan and Alverez stepped out of the car watching a man smash a bat into a car windshield screaming "You think your so smart, you don't think i know what you're doing?! I went to Harvard, Yale, the Vatican!"

"Sir, I need you to put down the bat."

"you can't hide from me! I will go into the wardrobe through the looking glass!"

Nolan looked between Bishop and Alverez asking "So what do we do?"

De-escalate the situation." Bishop responded nodding to the car. Nolan walked to the man as Alverez walked to the right side of the man more behind him.

"Sir, how about you tell me what the problem is?" walking to the man as Alverez walked to the right more behind the man as Chen and Bradford pulled up behind the shop they got out of.

"The unicorn is laughing at me!"

"Okay, great, we can help you with that. We just need you to get down off the car"

"No. No you're trying to trick me. No. You don't want me to find him."

"Sir, I can handle unicorns, all right? This is what we train for." motioning between himself and Alverez. "I just need you to get off the car and give me a description so we can find him." As the man stepped down Alverez returned to Nolan's side moving to his left to be on the right of the man "Exactly. Yeah, just jump down. Put the bat down right there. Excellent. Perfect. What's you name?" as Nolan slowly approached the man, he looked into Nolan's eyes and took off running Alverez immediately shooting off behind the man with Nolan following a second later then Chen seconds after him.

As the man started to weave between cars Alverez started to close the distance when the man ran to the side walk shoving people out of the way Alverez paralleled from the street then when the man suddenly darted for the alley across the street she was able to tackle him to the ground rolling him over. When he started yelling "I have to-- I have to find him! He needs me!"

as Alverez Chen and Bradford restrained right when Bishop started to ask "who, who do you need to find"

The suspects phone started to ring "Lucas! I can't find him!" Bishop started to pat the man down for the ringing phone as the man was talking.

Bishop answering the phone "Hi, this is Officer Bishop--" getting interrupted by the mans wife on the other side of the phone asking if she is with her husband. "Yes, ma'am, I'm with your husband right now. Slow down. Who's Lucas?"

Bishop suddenly leaned down asking "Sir, where is your boy?"

"I only left him in the car for a minute. The unicorn has him."

"that cars going to be an oven. We have to find that unicorn." Alverez stated as she stood up releasing the mans feet as he stopped struggling.

After they put the suspect into the back of the Bradford and Chen's shop they got into their shop. They started driving to around. Over the radio dispatch stated. "Be advised, the suspects vehicle is a gray Corolla. License plate Two Paul Charles..." as they drove down a street. Nolan said " There his to be a better way of doing this then just driving around."

"We got an airship and six cars working a grid pattern. There's no fancy tricks in patrol." Bishop responded

"Are we sure the kid still in the car?" Alverez said leaning forward from the back seat.

"we got to find this kid" getting interrupted by Bishop " Prey we don't. Seeing a dead kid changes you." looking between the two boots.

"Gray Corolla, right there!" Nolan pointed to a car by some parking meters to the right. Alverez and Nolan got out to look. "Wrong car" Nolan said as they walked around the car, as Nolan circled the car Alverez looked around spotting a unicorn balloon whacking Nolan in the shoulder then pointing across the street to the balloon unicorn. "Nolan unicorns."

They looked both ways and then ran across the street to the balloons looking for the car, Alverez spotting the car next to the store sprinted forward to the car getting close to the car seeing the child in the backseat. When she go to the car she started to yank on the handles of the door once she got to the driver side she smashed the window with the window punch reaching in pushing the unlock button, right when she did that Nolan pulled the door open pulling the child out of the seat. talking to the kid as he started to move him and rub him on the back to get a response. When the kid final sat up looking at Nolan asking for his mom. Alverez took the boy from Nolan starting to check him over while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

Bishop looked at Nolan and Alverez. " feeling good about your selves?"

"Shouldn't we be?" Nolan asked

"You stopped thinking, when you saw the child in the car sure Alverez ran to the driver side and checked the door when finding it locked used the right tool, but you froze you got to the car and tried the same handles Alverez did then tried to smash the front passenger with the wrong tool costing you seconds sure they didn't hurt anything this time but next time when the seconds matter it could and might make you too late." nodding to Alverez then looking at Nolan.

-Later at food Trucks-

As they walked up to the food trucks Nolan asked what Bishop wanted walking away said surprise me and I will judge what you to get me. As she walked away Nolan and Alverez stopped by the food truck next to Jackson as Chen walked up to the pair "So, how was everyone's morning having fun yet?"

"I think someone could use a hug."

"Don't you dare." Chen stated before walking away walking to where Bradford was sitting.

"Whoa, what's wrong?" Alverez asked

"Uh, her T.O's utilizing time-tested practices to intimidate her."

"Oh, well, that's their job right? They've got to get inside our heads, push our buttons, see how we react. It's not personal. Just turn it around and figure out what makes your training officer tick."

"You make it sound easy."

"Piece of cake."

"Really?"

Alverez looked at Bradford then told Chen "He looks military he might be testing you because you look soft to him from his prospective you look like a fresh baby face that would jump at the smallest thing." Chen looked at her with a worried look" You think so?" Then looked back at Nolan then said "then you both know what your T.O. wants for lunch."

As Nolan, Alverez, Chen and West walked up to the table with the T.O.s Nolan, Chen, and West carrying the food while Alverez carried the hot sauce and her and Nolan's food. "Did you get the hot sauce boot?"

"I got it for you, you looked military assumed you would want it." Alverez said right before Chen walked away.

"Your right Boot" Bradford said taking it from her hand.

"Is there meat in this?" Bishop asked when Nolan set her food down.

"yes Alverez said you might want meat so we got you something with meat."

Before Nolan and Alverez could walk from the table dispatch came on the radio. "7-Adam-15 return to 1401 West Sycamore. situation has escalated."

"Told you we would be going back." "7-Adam-15 responding."

--AT THE HOUSE IN QUESTION--

As the shop stopped Nolan and Alverez got out following Bishop to the house Alverez banged on the door yelling "POLICE OPEN UP!"

When no one responded we waited for a second then heard screaming from the inside the house Bishop said" Nolan you kick the front door when you hear Alverez and I kick the back door." while Alverez and her sped walked to the side door with guns drawn. When they got to the back door she looked back at Alverez then kicked in the door yelling police and seconds later Nolan kicked in the front door. when they converged on the front room they saw the lady on the guys back as they backed into the shelving unit on the wall breaking and knocking things down. Then the lady raised her hand and started to stab the man in the neck with something. When Alverez saw that she holster her gun to put on gloves while she did that Nolan approached the couple and pulled lady off of the guy as he fell down on the table rolling her to get her in handcuffs. As Alverez knelt down next to the man she looked at Bishop "run to the shop and grab the trauma kit" applying pressure to the mans stab wound to stop try and stop the bleeding. Bishop took off to the shop when she saw Nolan handcuff the lady while calling for a RA unit to the house. By the time Bishop had gotten back from the shop with the kit the Alverez was sitting back from the man looking down at the ground as the man had stopped breathing.

Awhile later then more units and the RA arrived Nolan was looking off into the distance while Alverez was filling out her report when Bishop walked up to them asking how they were doing. "Fine not the first nor the last person i have lost or will loose I just have to be faster and better for the next time." Alverez responded while Nolan didn't respond until Bishop had called his name addressing him directly. "Officer Nolan, how are you doing."

Looking down at her. "Fine. The husband hinted at the woman possibly abusing him but I didn't push him."

"Worst thing you can do is think, not act. You have got to trust your instincts the worse thing it can be is me telling you, your wrong." As Bishop and Nolan were talking Sgt Gray walked up to them shooing Alverez and Nolan away needing to talk to Bishop.

When they got a good distance away Alverez looked at Nolan and said you couldn't save him this time and that will hurt and you will remember it and not ever forgetting it, but there is nothing to do but carry it and move with more purpose like either get there faster without endangering your self or being more prepared for next time because there will be a next time not if just when unfortunately."

--AT THE STATION--

When they got back to the station Nolan split from the two women and went to men's locker room while Bishop and Alverez went into the women's changing out of the uniform into civies. Alverez fished and waited for Nolan out in the parking lot with Chen and West to go to the bar together to celebrate their first day on the job.

--BAR--

They sat down at a corner table with a nursing a beer each with Nolan looking more blue then the other three.

"Want to talk about it?" Chen asked Nolan

"We lost a man on the first call we were dispatched out on. That call that we were redispatched to before we sat down for lunch." Alverez responding for him when he shook his head at her

"I saw him die in front of me they tell us this in the academy but nothing prepares you to see it first person before you on scene."

I was 10 when I first saw a dead body. My dad took me to the morgue and pulled a draw with this kid that looked like 17-18 that OD on oxy." West shared

"that's a bit much says some questionable parenting right there." Lucy said

"Weren't your folks putting you in therapy at the same age."

"They were trying to teach me coping skills."

"Yea so was my dad. This job is a magnifying glass revealing everything especially the parts you try to hide." West and Chen when back and forth with each other.

"Mine was the first week I was out on patrol we were on the road to the next town when the lead Humvee hit a IED granted it was reenforced to take the blast like this but the thing flipped and by the time we were able to get to the people inside 3 of them were dead and the 4th died right before the Medvac got there. It took awhile but I was able to cope and live with it." Alverez stated staring into her beer bottle.

While they sat there West and Chen went up for karaoke. After a couple of hours they parted ways and went home hoping to be ready for what the next day is going to bring.

--NEXT DAY MID-WILSHIRE STATION--

Hour before the everyone gathered in the briefing room Alverez knocked on the door to Gray's office. motioning her in asking What do you want Boot." responding Alverez asked. "Sir, requesting permission to requestion a trauma kit from the kit room to have in the shop and to wear on my belt, I am licensed as an Paramedic in the state of California and served as a corpsman in the military."

After staying at her for a minute "Yes get the request from the kit room fill it out and i will sign it then you can grab it before leaving and I will take it to the captain to have her sign it before you leave the station this morning." giving her a look continued" have more able and licensed officers as an EMT with the appropriate equipment could mean saving a life in the field giving EMS time to get to the scene."

"Thank you sir." handing in the required papers to get the kit added to list of requestable tools."

"Good Morning settle down have some stuff to go over before everyone hit the street today. I have some footage from the rookies first foot chase." Gray said while walking up to a TV in the room turning it on to Alverez's body cam footage starting right before the fleeing suspect moved to the side walk with Nolan behind him. "Here we have Officer Alverez performing a good tackle." cutting to the part where the man suddenly darted for the ally across the street when Alverez tackled him to the ground when he crossed in front of her. Looking at her Gray asked" Why did you not follow the suspect onto the sidewalk like Nolan and Chen?"

Path of least resistance the side walk the man got onto was very crowded and we would have caught him before the next alley he assumed he would be able to loose us but did not see me when as I was partially hidden by a car I was running past when he looked back for a quick look." Alverez responded. Being satisfied with her answer Gray looked back and started look though papers on the tables in the front.

"This is a BOLO for Mr. Lance Selby who violated his parole yesterday. on a scale of 1 to 10 this guy is a 12. did a nickel for attempted murder with a claw hammer, so whoever gets him off the street will get a sincere hand shake and... Super Bowl Sunday off. Officer Alverez your riding with Officer Bradford and Chen today. Thats it. Be safe out there."

As they left Alverez walked over to Bradford with Chen following them to the kit room to get the warbags and the trauma kit she is now aloud to get. When Bradford saw the medical bag get handed over he looked at Alverez and asked "what are you doing boot that is not on the list of requestion able things you should be able to get without a form and proof of ability to use."

"Sir, I talked to Sgt Gray this morning about it and turned in the forms to get the bag and he told me to get one before going out on patrol today. I am licensed in the state of California as a Paramedic and served as a corpsman while in the military." Alverez responded

Hearing her saying she completed required paper work and did serve over seas had a new light shine in his eye as he looked at her differently. looking at her eyes asking. " did you see combat while serving."

"Yes sir, trained and served as a corpsman over seas and in conflict while out on patrol with my unit the 75th Rangers Regiment." hearing this Chen looked surprised not knowing her friend served with the rangers, Bradford heard this and looked more surprised she served with the 75th saying nothing but Okay and then walking away while they grabbed there bags taking the warbag from Alverez before walking away leaving her with the trauma kit and the beanbag shotgun while Chen carried the 12 gauge and two warbags to the shop.

--IN THE SHOP-- First POV

With Bradford driving and me in the front passenger seat with Chen in the back. Bradford looked in the rear view at Chen saying "I have decided on your punishment."

Lucy looking at him "Are you going to tell me what it is?"

As all three get out of the shop. " I'm more of a "show you." kind of guy." walking up to a couple of guys on the side of a liquor store we pulled up to.

"Ghost Head" as they turned and started to speed walk away calling back out "No, no, hold up a minute." As the guy in red walked away from us the guy in a brown colored top stayed behind complaining "Yo, this is harassment."

"What? No, it's just good customer service. kind of like a frequent flyer program for dirt-bag drug dealers." Bradford said to the man in front of us "Search him, boot." He said as he turned to Lucy nodding to the man in front of us.

Lucy sighing looking at Bradford about to say something then decided not to and then ordered the man to the side of the building to be searched.

"Turn around, grab the wall."

"make me...Boot." Ghost face said back to Lucy.

As Lucy went hands on I was about to step forward to assist her when Bradford held me back shaking his head at me to stop. Lucy struggled against the guy before being twisted around hand slammed into the wall by the man as she tried to keep his hands from her gun and face.

"keep your hands up, Chen. Don't let him get on top of you!" Bradford stated to Lucy

right when I had enough of this I started to step forward when Ghost Head landed a hit to Lucy's ribs, but before I could get close she head butted him stunning him long enough to gain control and knock him down to roll him and handcuff him. I assisted with this by controlling his arm and prevented him from rolling over while Lucy pulled the cuffs and got his right arm in the cuffs.

"That was my Punishment?!" Lucy stated

"Yep. Plus I got to see if you could hand yourself, so it's really a two-fer." He shrugged and helped us get him onto his feet and started to the car trailing behind us.

"when you're telling this story in lock up, you might want to leave out the part where you got your ass kicked by a girl."

Right before we could pat him down and search him to put him in the back a lady from inside the store called out to us. When I looked over I realized it was Isabel Tim's Wife when I looked over to Bradford he was stunned to see her

Chen curious asked. "Are you all right here?"

Isabel butting in before he could respond or Bradford getting a word off to Chen.

"For real" Isobel groaned at us

"Isabel?"

"leave him alone." she cried out

Bradford stuttering "Isab- Isabel.. it-- it's me. Tim" said as he slowly approached her. I followed Lucy to the back of the patrol car to search and get Ghost Head ready for the ride to the station. missing the rest of what Bradford said to Isabel. Right before we sat Ghost Head in the back of the shop Lucy asked Bradford what he wanted done with man.

"Just let him go. Let him go" he said as he walked to the driver side of the car. So we uncuffed Ghost Head and handed back his wallet and phone having found nothing else on him and letting him walk away. I sat in the back while Lucy sat in the front by Bradford.

"what the hell just happened" Lucy asked frustrated when she sat in the car seat.

"That was my wife. I haven't seen her in almost a year." Bradford whispered out.

I won't tell anyone" Lucy fumbled out as we watched Bradford hold back tears

Before anyone else could respond to what she said Bishop and Nolan came over the radio." Requesting additional unit to meet us at 1350 Bellview Street. Possible Location of our BOLO suspect. We are in route."

Bradford pulling on the radio then responding "7-Adam-19 show us responding"

When we pulled close the address Bishop came over the radio "7-Adam-19, be advised, we are approximately 5 minutes away." Bradford did a slow roll past the house "That's the address for Selby. All right, we'll set up in the alley behind in case Selby rabbits and Bishop and Nolan come calling."

Right when we pull into the alley we see a car ahead of us with a man hunched over in the front passenger side and the rear looking at us, as we get close the man on the passenger side stands up when he realizes another car was in the alley in front of them. Seeing it was a cop car he started to slowly back up. "That's our guy, Selby." Lucy said as we slowed down to a stop a couple of yards from Selby and his car.

"Call it in. Backup and airship." Bradford stated as he and I stepped out of the car

"7-Adam-19 Show us code 6 on BOLO suspect. Need backup and airship." Lucy grabbing the radio.

when we posted up i was behind Lucy on the passenger side of the car with Bradford on the driver side I stopped Lucy before she could step around the door saying that we need to clear the suspects from their car before we step out of our cover. As I was talking to Lucy, Bradford was yelling at the 2 guys "LAPD gentlemen. Step away from the car and show us your hands?

Selby responding "There a problem, officer?"

As Bradford responded we drew our weapons. "There will be if you don't show me those hands. NOW!"

Suddenly Selby pulled a gun out from their trunk and started firing at us hitting the windshield and the hood before nailing Bradford in the gut. I start pulling Lucy back to the trunk as she is returning fire at the two in front of the squad. Yelling over the gun fire I yell at her. " Cover me I am going for Bradford keep shooting." as I ran behind the car to Bradfords side and started to drag him to the back of the car.

As I pulled Bradford back to the rear of the car Lucy called in. " 7-Adam-19 Shots fired, officer down. I repeat officer down! Please send help right away" as she was doing that had had Bradford in behind the car and had the trunk open pulling out the trauma kit and pulled on gloves starting to cut open the his uniform and under shirt and started to pac his wound with trauma gauze while Lucy started to shoot at Selby again. She looked back at me and Bradford. "Stop looking back I got this shoot back keep the cover fire up!" without looking up at her. We heard sirens coming from the opposite end of the alley head to us.

Lucy Yelled "Elena the cars on fire" looking up and confirming fire from the hood I closed the trauma bag and started to pull Bradford from the rear to the street behind us. "Lucy don't stop, cover me while I pull Tim back to better cover by the street hearing the sirens from the fire rescue coming from behind us. With her she was able to wing Selby before he took off into the alley when Nolan fired from behind.

By the time Nolan got to us the EMTs took over from me and I stood up ripping my gloves off pulling Lucy behind me as we started to purse Selby calling over the radio. " Suspect heading northbound towards residence on Clinton Street." then Me, Lucy, Nolan and his TO who looked pissed at him started following the suspect down the alley as I passed him I heard his TO telling him about needing to talk to him after this is over.

We got half way through the alley when we heard Jackson over the radio "7-Adam-07 arriving on scene." then gun fire from the other side of the alley. when we finished running through the alley we arrived to see Selby fleeing and Lopez firing him hitting him in the leg. When I caught up to Nolan in the front of us i broke off to check on Lopez and Jackson looking over the car as I got closer. "Officer Lopez anyone injured as I stepped around the cruiser seeing her still looking forward to me and I saw Jackson down against the rear wheel running over to Jackson I start checking him over looking for damage blood or rounds in his vest unable to find any and when I look up I see it. The sheer terror in his eyes as he frozen when someone started to shoot at them.

As I look over at Lopez I hear Nolan calling suspect in cuffs and scene code 4.

I was sitting in the locker room after the shift today I saw Lopez pacing back and forth and then stop look at me then march out of the locker room to only what I can assume is the men locker room.

--Next Morning In the Station--

As I sat down at the desk I heard Captain Anderson walk in talking about Bradford getting out of the ICU today. When she reached the front of the room looking straight at me. " He will not apricate it if you had time at the end of your shift to stop by and paid him a visit.
