Just as they stepped out of the refugee settlement, Erwin threw a set of Omni-Directional Mobility Gear directly in front of him.
"Prepare to head up the wall. Put this on. Since you want to bring your sister, you'll have to find your own way."
After speaking, he began to wait nearby, his gaze fixed on White Fish. Looking at the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear in his hands, White Fish couldn't help but complain internally.
This guy...
He patted Xiate's head to comfort her and began putting on the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear without any delay. He looked at Erwin and suddenly spoke up.
"Captain Erwin, can you do me a favor?"
This caused the other man to raise an eyebrow slightly; it was unexpected, but he didn't stop him from speaking.
"What kind of favor?"
White Fish turned his head, looking back at the refugee concentration area, and spoke directly.
"Don't let them be sent to participate in the war to retake Wall Maria."
Erwin was somewhat surprised.
"That news hasn't even been decided yet. How did you know?"
"Looking at the situation inside Wall Rose, one can pretty much guess."
Looking at the youth before him, Erwin became even more convinced of the boy's abilities; he absolutely could not be treated as a mere child.
He donned the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear skillfully, his movements in adjusting the device looking as if they had been practiced thousands of times. He tapped it casually, as if checking for any issues with the mechanism.
Not simple at all...
Testing the tightness of the blade handle in his hand, he looked at Erwin and spoke with a smile.
"How about it?"
Seeing the calm and composed smile before him, Erwin nodded slightly, but there was still a prerequisite.
"If you pass, then I will guarantee they won't be chosen."
"Thanks."
Behind him, Xiate pursed her lips tightly, her grip gradually tightening. He crouched down toward Xiate.
"Come, Xiao Xi, get on. Hold on tight, and don't let go, or else we're both finished."
Of course, he was just saying that; after all, Xiate was much lighter compared to Yi Shi.
He twirled the blade handle casually.
"Let's go."
Erwin only gave him a glance. The grappling hooks of his Omni-Directional Mobility Gear shot out from his waist, flying into the sky toward the nearby wall.
Watching their fluid movements with the gear, he told Xiate to hold on tighter. The gas behind him rapidly erupted, facing the aerial currents with a line of white mist that gradually dissipated into the air.
The two people beside Erwin looked back at White Fish, who was keeping up with them perfectly despite carrying a person. His movements were steady and completely natural, and they exchanged surprised glances.
Erwin, however, was thinking...
Is it as I expected?
Following a final fifty-meter sprint up the wall, they landed directly on top. Erwin held out a hand toward him, his eyes fixed intently on the youth.
"I want you to join our Survey Corps."
These words were within White Fish's expectations.
However, Xiate, who had just gotten off White Fish's back, widened her eyes slightly and quickly looked at him.
"You said you didn't want to join the Survey Corps."
But Erwin ignored Xiate's plea for White Fish not to join, simply looking at him and quietly waiting for his answer.
White Fish knew that the man was putting him in checkmate.
Though for White Fish, any corps was the same.
"Then, what about my sister..."
Erwin looked at her and was about to say something indifferently, but before he could finish, White Fish's voice suddenly lost all emotion as he murmured softly.
"If anything happens to her, I will slaughter everyone above the level of commoner—all of them."
At this moment, White Fish appeared calm, but his eyes held a faint red glow, and his silver-white pupils were issuing a silent warning.
He was telling Erwin: I am just like you; there are things for which I will disregard everything.
In an instant, the surrounding temperature seemed to drop sharply, and a cold killing intent enveloped Erwin and his two companions. For some reason, Xiate felt it too, but to her it was an immense sense of security, and she instinctively hugged White Fish gently from behind.
Suddenly, Erwin smiled as if in compromise, but looking at White Fish, he understood the other party clearly—or rather, the other party had allowed him to see through him completely.
"As long as you join the Survey Corps, not a single one of your companions will participate in the Wall Maria Reclamation Plan. As for your sister, don't worry, we can either bring her to the Survey Corps headquarters, but..."
At this point, Erwin suddenly drew a blade from its sheath, pointing it at a distant fifteen-meter Titan, a ten-meter Titan, and one that was about seven meters tall.
"Three minutes. You kill them alone, and the above promises take effect. Furthermore, the theft of the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear will be overlooked."
White Fish slowly closed his eyes, a trace of helplessness at the corner of his mouth. He pulled an earbud from his pocket and slowly inserted it into his ear, feeling the gentle music surround him. He walked from the wall toward the three Titans, bumping fists with Erwin as he passed.
"Deal."
As he walked, he used the handle to lock the blade and draw it from the sheath.
With a 'clang,' the long blades were unsheathed. White Fish's eyes slowly opened as he leaped from the wall, the dual blades in his hands and the gas ejection from his back reaching their limit.
A figure was seen descending from the sky. With a'shing,' blood erupted from the back of the fifteen-meter Titan's neck as a chunk of flesh was carved out.
The silver-white blade wasn't pulled out but was instead plunged into the Titan's body, slicing all the way down. Using the momentum to change course mid-air, the direction of the gas also shifted, tracing a magnificent arc.
A cold light flashed in a straight line, slicing the napes of the seven-meter and ten-meter Titans, which were several meters apart, in a single stroke.
The people on the wall watched blankly. As they realized what had happened, their eyes were gradually filled with shock.
The entire process took ten seconds. Relying on gravity from the wall plus gas propulsion, without even using the grappling hooks, he had essentially taken down three Titans in one breath. This...
The movements of the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear were at the pinnacle of mastery.
This thought echoed in all three of their minds. How was this possible...
But White Fish had already fired his hooks into the wall and was flying back up. Midway, he threw his slightly damaged blades one after the other with great force, accurately taking down a five-meter Titan in the distance.
With the sound of gas spraying, White Fish returned to the wall and hooked the handles back onto the sheaths. He spoke while brushing off the Titan blood from his clothes with a look of distaste.
"Done."
