Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Rise from the ashes

The forest outside Beacon Hills was silent except for the soft crunch of boots on fallen leaves.

A small group of hunters moved carefully through the dark woods, their flashlights dimmed, weapons slung across their backs. At the front walked Kate Argent, confident and calm, as if tonight was just another routine hunt.

One of the hunters spoke quietly.

"Are we sure this is the place?"

Kate smirked without turning around.

"Oh, I'm sure."

Another hunter adjusted the rifle in his hands.

"Reports say the Hale pack is big. Alpha, several betas… maybe more."

Kate finally stopped and looked back at them.

"Big packs burn the same as small ones."

A younger hunter frowned.

"But the code—"

Kate's smile vanished.

"The code protects humans."

She raised a small metal canister filled with a pale powder.

"And wolves?"

She shook it lightly.

"They get hunted."

The group continued forward through the trees toward the Hale territory.

Far away from the Hale house, the atmosphere was completely different.

Moonlight filtered through the trees as Laura Hale and Derek Hale chased through the forest in their wolf forms.

They were young, fast, reckless.

Derek leapt over a fallen log and tackled a deer with youthful enthusiasm. Laura shifted back to human form, laughing as she caught her breath.

"You're getting sloppy."

Derek wiped blood from his chin.

"I still caught it."

Laura folded her arms.

"Barely."

Derek grinned.

"Admit it. You're impressed."

Laura rolled her eyes but smiled.

For a moment they simply enjoyed the quiet of the forest—two young wolves free beneath the moon, far from the responsibilities of the pack.

Neither of them noticed the faint glow beginning to rise on the distant horizon.

Back at the Hale house, the pack was gathered.

Inside the large wooden home sat Talia Hale, the Alpha of the Hale pack, calm and composed.

Nearby stood Peter Hale, speaking quietly with a tall young man—Arthur Corvinus, one of the children the Hales had taken in over the years.

Around them, the house was full of life.

Some werewolves.

Some humans.

Orphans the pack had adopted and protected.

Children laughed softly while a few older betas kept watch.

For a moment, the Hale house felt safe.

Then the windows shattered.

A canister rolled across the wooden floor.

CLANG.

It burst open.

A thick gray smoke poured into the room.

Peter's eyes widened instantly.

"Wolfsbane."

The smell hit them like poison.

Werewolves staggered as their strength vanished.

Outside, hunters slammed heavy chains across the doors.

Another hunter spread a wide circle of mountain ash around the entire house.

No supernatural creature could cross it.

They were trapped.

Outside, Kate Argent lit a flare.

She tossed it onto the roof.

The flames spread quickly.

The Hale house began to burn.

Inside, panic spread.

Children screamed.

Smoke filled the halls.

Peter staggered, clutching the wall as his strength drained.

He looked toward his sister.

"Sister… what are we going to do?"

Through the choking smoke, Talia Hale forced herself to stand.

Her voice was weak but steady.

"I don't know."

She clenched her fists, struggling to keep her balance.

"I don't have the strength… the wolfsbane is too strong."

Her eyes burned with anger.

"Those despicable hunters have no code."

She coughed as flames spread across the ceiling.

"We are the protectors of this place."

"But they chose to hunt us down."

Her gaze shifted toward the children huddled together in fear.

"They even implicate the children."

Peter looked around helplessly.

Talia gave him one final order.

"Go protect those you can protect."

Even weakened, the Alpha forced her body to change.

Bones cracked.

Fur spread across her skin.

Before them stood a massive wolf nearly two meters tall.

Barely able to stand, she gathered the children beneath her body, shielding them from falling beams and sparks.

"Kids…"

Her voice trembled.

"This is all I can do."

"I don't have the strength to get us out of here."

The fire roared louder.

Heat pressed in from every direction.

Among the children, one boy suddenly collapsed.

Arthur Corvinus.

His eyes snapped open.

"What—"

Pain exploded in his skull.

Memories flooded his mind—memories that didn't belong to this body.

Arthur grabbed his head in panic.

"ACCCK—!"

Images flashed through his mind.

Werewolves.

Hunters.

The Hale family.

And something else.

A story.

A television series.

His eyes widened in horror.

"SHIT—SHIT—SHIT—!"

He scrambled backward in shock.

"I'm in the Teen Wolf universe?!"

His breathing became frantic.

"I just reincarnated and I'm already about to die?!"

He looked around at the burning house.

"Am I that unlucky?!"

Talia noticed him collapse.

"Arthur!"

Even weakened, the Alpha stepped closer.

"What happened to you?!"

She pushed him toward the other children.

"Come here!"

"The fire is getting out of control!"

Her voice softened despite the chaos.

"I'll protect all of you."

Outside the burning house, the hunters watched.

Kate Argent stood with arms crossed.

"Make sure no one gets out."

Gunshots echoed suddenly from the treeline.

Hunters turned in surprise.

Shapes moved through the forest.

Other supernatural creatures—werewolves from distant territories, drawn by the scent of fire and blood.

Claws clashed with blades.

Guns roared.

The quiet forest erupted into chaos.

A violent battle raged outside the burning Hale house.

Slowly, the hunters were forced back.

One by one they retreated into the darkness.

But by the time the fighting ended…

The house was already collapsing.

Flames consumed everything.

Those outside could only watch in silence.

Whether the ones inside lived or died—

No one knew.

All they could do was wait for the fire to die.

Far away in the forest, Laura suddenly stopped.

Her nose lifted into the wind.

Smoke.

Her eyes widened.

Derek noticed the same thing.

On the distant horizon, black smoke rose into the night sky.

Laura's heart dropped.

Derek pointed toward the mountain.

"Sis…"

His voice trembled.

"There's smoke."

He swallowed hard.

"It's coming from our house."

Laura's expression turned to pure terror.

Without another word—

Both wolves dashed through the forest at full speed.
