Chapter 6 — The Structure of Power
Morning sunlight spilled across the Dev courtyard.
Aarav Dev sat quietly beneath the old spirit tree, holding a small notebook.
He flipped through several pages slowly.
The pages were filled with diagrams.
Cultivation paths.
Body structures.
Energy flow patterns.
To any normal person, they would look like complicated scribbles.
But for Aarav…
They were simply fragments of knowledge collected across nine lifetimes.
He sighed softly.
"Ten years already."
Ten years since the cultivation test.
Ten years since the crystal pillar shattered.
Ten years of watching others walk the path of cultivation while he remained stuck as an ordinary human.
But those ten years had not been wasted.
Not even slightly.
The Dev Family — Ten Years Later
The Dev residence had changed.
The courtyard was larger.
A proper training ground had been built.
Weapon racks lined the walls.
Several practice dummies stood nearby—most of them damaged beyond repair thanks to Arjun's enthusiasm.
From inside the training hall came the sound of metal striking metal.
CLANG!
CLANG!
CLANG!
Kavya Dev stepped backward after a series of rapid sword strikes.
Her breathing was steady.
Her eyes were focused.
She was now seventeen years old, and the once playful girl had grown into a sharp and confident swordswoman.
Standing opposite her was Devendra Dev.
He lowered his spear slightly and nodded.
"Good."
"You improved your speed again."
Kavya grinned.
"I'm close to breaking through."
Devendra raised an eyebrow.
"Which realm?"
Kavya lifted her sword proudly.
"Golden Core Realm!"
Inside the house, Arjun's voice exploded.
"HEY! WAIT FOR ME!"
Arjun burst into the courtyard carrying two enormous stone weights.
He dropped them dramatically.
"I'm reaching Foundation Establishment Realm today!"
Devendra stared at him.
"You said that yesterday."
"And the day before."
"And the day before that."
Arjun crossed his arms stubbornly.
"Cultivation requires patience!"
Aarav, watching from the tree, nodded.
"That is correct."
Devendra looked toward him.
"You're encouraging him again."
Aarav shrugged.
"Confidence is important."
Devendra sighed.
Raising three cultivators in the same house was exhausting.
Unlike Aarav's previous worlds, the cultivation system on Earth was relatively standardized.
Academies taught the same stages everywhere.
Most hunters followed the same path.
Aarav flipped to another page in his notebook.
Written clearly were the cultivation realms known to humanity.
Mortal Realms
These were the stages where humans strengthened their bodies and learned to control spiritual energy.
Body Tempering Realm
Strengthens muscles, bones, and internal organs.
Blood Awakening Realm
Spiritual energy begins circulating through blood.
Bone Forging Realm
Bones become extremely durable.
Meridian Opening Realm
Energy channels inside the body open.
Energy Gathering Realm
Cultivators absorb external spiritual energy.
Spirit Awakening Realm
Spiritual sense begins developing.
Foundation Establishment Realm
The cultivator stabilizes energy inside the body.
Core Formation Realm
Energy condenses into a spiritual core.
Golden Core Realm
Core becomes stable and powerful.
Nascent Soul Realm
A spiritual soul forms within the core.
These realms represented the limit of most hunters in the world.
Only the strongest tower explorers reached the next stage.
King Realms
Soul King Realm
Domain Lord Realm
Heavenly King Realm
Sky Sovereign Realm
World Lord Realm
Cultivators at these stages were extremely rare.
They often commanded entire regions.
Celestial Realms
Beyond that were legendary levels most humans had never reached.
Celestial Saint
Celestial Monarch
Celestial Emperor
Star Emperor
Galaxy Emperor
Some ancient tower records hinted these realms existed.
But no modern human had confirmed them.
Aarav closed the notebook.
He already knew that these realms were only a tiny part of the true cultivation system.
In several of his previous worlds, power extended far beyond Galaxy Emperor.
But humanity on Earth was still young.
Compared to ancient civilizations…
They were beginners.
Aarav stretched his arms slowly.
His body looked normal.
Healthy.
Strong even.
But inside…
His meridians were completely broken.
No matter how much knowledge he had, he simply could not absorb spiritual energy.
Which meant he remained stuck outside the cultivation path.
He smiled faintly.
"Well."
"At least my family is doing well."
Kavya Dev
Cultivation Realm: Peak Core Formation
Specialty: Sword cultivation
Academy rank: Top student
Arjun Dev
Cultivation Realm: Peak Spirit Awakening
Specialty: Body cultivation
Known for: breaking training equipment
Devendra Dev
Cultivation Realm: Nascent Soul
Formerly injured, but his strength had mostly returned.
Meera Dev
Cultivation Realm: Foundation Establishment
Specialty: Healing techniques and alchemy.
Aarav looked at them with calm satisfaction.
Without realizing it, the Dev family had become one of the strongest rising clans in the city.
Exactly as he intended.
But something else worried him.
The towers.
Tower Changes
Over the last two years, the tower outside the city had become unstable.
Hunters reported strange things.
Floors changing unexpectedly.
Monsters appearing that did not belong to any known portal ecosystem.
Some even spoke ancient languages.
Languages Aarav recognized.
Languages from his previous worlds.
One report described a monster wearing armor identical to soldiers from Aarav's first life battlefield.
That was impossible.
Unless…
The towers were connecting worlds again.
Aarav looked toward the sky.
Dark clouds moved slowly around the massive tower structure.
If the tower truly connected multiple worlds…
Then eventually someone powerful would come through.
Someone far beyond Earth's current strength.
And when that happened…
The world would face a catastrophe.
Later that night, the Dev family gathered for dinner.
Arjun ate like a war machine.
Kavya cleaned her sword.
Devendra studied a map.
Meera prepared medicinal herbs.
Devendra finally spoke.
"The tower alarms triggered again today."
The room became quiet.
Kavya asked,
"Another floor break?"
Devendra nodded.
"Yes."
Arjun grinned.
"Good."
"I want to fight stronger monsters."
Meera gave him a warning look.
"This is not a game."
Arjun coughed.
"Right."
"Serious monster punching."
Aarav asked calmly,
"Which floor?"
Devendra answered slowly.
"…Floor seventy."
Aarav's eyes narrowed slightly.
Floor seventy.
That level should normally contain Golden Core monsters.
If those creatures escaped the tower…
The city could be destroyed.
Devendra continued.
"The Hunter Association is preparing a large expedition."
"They might even ask for help from nearby cities."
Aarav remained silent.
Inside his mind, memories surfaced again.
Tower collapses.
Portal disasters.
World-ending wars.
He knew how these events usually began.
With small signs.
Small warnings.
Warnings most people ignored.
But Aarav Dev had seen nine worlds fall.
And he knew exactly what came next.
A tower catastrophe.
And when that disaster arrived…
He would make a choice.
A choice that would end this life.
And begin something far greater.
