Chapter 2 - The First Command

I still couldn't believe I had ended up in a situation like this.

My heart was pounding as I stared at him.

Kongar took a step closer, and now I could see him clearly in the moonlight.

I'd been in situations like this before.

Or at least… something like it.

I had been receiving psychological treatment for as long as I could remember. Everything had started when I was very young. I was an orphan. One day, they found me at the gate of an orphanage.

At first, everything had been normal.

Then, when I was five or six, things began to change. They said I talked to beings no one else could see. At least, that's what the staff always told the doctors.

Since then, I had been under treatment.

Schizophrenic.

That's what they called it.

Maybe, in the past, I sometimes thought they were wrong.

But now—

seeing the man standing right in front of me—

I was pretty sure they were right.

This had to be because I forgot to take my medication.

"Oh my God!" I shouted, immediately covering my eyes with my hands as my breath caught.

Because the man was completely naked.

Yes—completely naked.

Muscular.

With that strange yellowish skin.

Ah… my medication.

Kongar froze where he stood. For a brief moment, his eyes darkened as he carefully scanned the surroundings, as if searching for something.

"What happened, master?" he asked anxiously. "Are you alright?"

I hesitated, then peeked through my fingers.

Yes…

Still naked.

I shook my head, hoping the image would disappear.

It didn't.

He was still standing there in all his naked glory.

Don't look down, Kayra.

Just don't.

My eyes instinctively began to drift downward, but I stopped myself at the last second. My heart was racing. I cleared my throat and spoke without looking directly at him.

"U-umm… Kongar. Why are you naked? Can't you wear something?"

Kongar looked at me for a moment. His eyes seemed to return to their normal state, and then his gaze dropped to his own body.

"What would you like me to wear?" he asked.

What would I like him to wear?

At this point, anything would have been fine.

But since he asked…

"Well, if you're my servant," I said, allowing a small smile to form, "then dress like a senior butler. After all, I'm your master. It should match."

Kongar repeated the same gesture as before. He clenched his hand into a fist, brought it to his chest, and bowed slightly.

While he did that, I quietly shifted a little farther back.

Then the light appeared again.

It flared suddenly, sharp enough to sting my eyes. I lifted a hand to shield my face.

When I looked again, he was standing there—

wearing a black, tuxedo-like suit.

A perfect butler.

I looked him up and down.

He looked…

magnificent.

Wait.

How did he do that?

My eyes widened as I realized I had been holding my breath. I opened my mouth to speak, but no sound came out.

Finally, I managed to clear my throat.

"H-how did you do that?"

Kongar looked at me for a moment. Then his eyes suddenly lit up.

"Is that what you're asking?" he said.

And in the next instant—

he was naked again.

"Ahhh!" I shouted, spinning around.

This time, I had definitely seen everything.

"Put your clothes back on!" I yelled.

The light flashed again. I kept my back turned, waiting.

"All done, master," he said.

Slowly, I turned around.

He had returned to his butler form.

Good.

"H-how do you do… that?" I asked, quickly raising my hands as if to stop him. "Don't take your clothes off again. Just explain."

Kongar repeated that same gesture. He clenched his hand into a fist, brought it to his chest, and straightened slightly, as if proud.

I had a feeling he was going to do that every single time.

"I am Kongar. Your servant," he said, puffing out his chest.

Oh… what a great honor.

"I was created to serve. My duty is to make my master happy," he added with a wide smile.

"Alright," I said, exhaling. "Can you get us out of this pit?"

I waved my hand slightly in the air, as if I were casting a spell.

Please… say yes.

Because I really didn't want to spend the night in the same pit with a yellowish, sexy butler who came out of a box.

"Of course," he said. "I am Kongar. I can do anything my master asks."

Then he bowed slightly.

"As long as you remain by my side."

For a brief moment, his eyes darkened, and the smile on his face vanished.

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

But just as quickly, his cheerful expression returned.

He began walking toward me with slow, heavy steps. The sound of his footsteps echoed inside the pit.

As he came closer, I stepped back—until my back hit the dirt wall behind me, forcing me to stop. My breathing quickened.

But he didn't.

In one swift motion, he wrapped an arm around my waist and leapt upward, pulling me with him.

My stomach dropped for a split second.

Then—

we were already at the top.

I blinked.

This… was actually amazing.

Once we were out, he released me and stepped back.

"Your command has been fulfilled, master," he said with a bow.

Yes, all of this had been… something.

But it was time to return to reality.

Ah, Kongar…

I was going to miss you.

I stepped closer and placed a quick kiss on his cheek.

For a moment, I felt his body tremble.

I pulled back immediately.

"Are you okay?" I asked, a hint of concern slipping into my voice.

But he didn't answer.

The iris in his eyes had completely disappeared. His eyes had turned pitch black, and thin, dark veins spread from the corners.

My heart started racing again.

What's happening to him?

Fortunately, a few seconds later, he returned to normal.

He looked at me again—but this time, there was something different in his gaze.

Something… sharper.

I quickly looked away and turned my back.

"I should go back to my friends now," I said, starting to walk.

I needed to get to my tent and take those damn medications.

I quickened my pace.

I could hear Kongar following behind me, but I ignored it.

A few minutes later, the light of the campfire appeared between the trees.

So they were there.

I stopped and looked back.

Kongar was still standing there.

But this time… he wasn't looking at me.

He was staring into the darkness—

at something I couldn't see.
