Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 Shut up

How should I put it?

It's like an ant at the feet of two elephants discussing how to deal with the threat of locusts.

But it's completely oblivious to the elephant legs that could crush it at any moment.

"Pfft…"

Ultimately, Thor couldn't help but let out a scoff.

The laughter was jarring in the tense atmosphere.

Tony and Fury's argument came to an abrupt halt.

Fury's body stiffened slightly.

His greatest fear had come true.

He took a deep breath, then turned his head, his single eye now directly on Leon on the balcony.

Fury's face was grim.

He could tolerate Tony's mockery, but he couldn't tolerate his authority being publicly trampled by someone of unknown origin.

However, before he could speak.

A voice that made his scalp tingle rang out.

"It seems we've interrupted the cotton machine saving the World?"

It was Leon.

He walked over slowly, holding a wine glass, a gentle smile still on his face.

He stood in front of Fury, lowering his head slightly, calmly looking into Fury's single eye.

"Nick Fury, right?"

Leon said softly.

"The Earth's traitor?"

Fury felt his hairs stand on end.

He felt an intense pressure from Leon.

It was like an indifference that transcended everything.

It was as if he, Nick Fury, was no different from an ant in the other person's eyes.

Fury forcibly suppressed the tremor in his heart, he knew he couldn't back down.

He represented Earth, he represented humanity.

"Leon Odinson." Fury deliberately emphasized his tone, as if that would increase his deterrent power.

"We know of your existence. We have no intention of being enemies with Asgard. But Earth has its rules."

"Rules?"

Leon chuckled as if he had heard something amusing.

"Who made the rules? You?"

"It's us, it's humanity!" Fury's tone was resolute.

"Is that so?" Leon shrugged noncommittally.

"But why do I feel like you can't even protect yourselves?"

His words made Fury's face even uglier.

"Please trust S.H.I.E.L.D.'s capabilities."

"No." Leon shook his head, took a sip of wine, and then leisurely said.

"I'm just stating a fact."

"You don't even know how many rats are in your own house, so what right do you have to talk about how to defend against beasts from the forest?"

Fury's pupils contracted.

"What do you mean…"

"Shut up, you bright rainbow little white horse!" Leon coldly interrupted him.

Fury:???

Everyone was stunned, not understanding what Leon was saying, but seeing his indifferent gaze, they all dared not speak.

Leon looked around, very satisfied with everyone's reaction, he smiled slightly, and continued.

"Of course, I just think your efficiency is a bit low."

"For example, a woman who can punch a starship into oblivion, you've kept her hidden as a last resort for over twenty years, but you've never thought about whether she can make it back in time?"

Motherfucker!

Fury stood frozen.

Carol Danvers!

Captain Marvel!

This was his last secret! His last hope!

No one else could possibly know about this except him and the deceased Maria Rambeau!

How did he know?!

Fury felt his back instantly soaked with cold sweat.

He frowned tightly, unable to figure out how Leon knew.

However, this was just the beginning.

"And for another…"

Leon's tone was still light and easygoing.

"There's an organization that has been parasitic within your organization since World War II, then spread like a virus. You spent seventy years, not only failing to discover it, but instead nurturing it until it was fat and healthy?"

"Hail HYDRA?"

Leon mimicked the classic slogan, a mischievous smile on his face.

This guy had already been sentenced to death by him, but before that, he didn't mind humiliating the other party first.

Perhaps death would thank him, a professional cotton machine, no worries about work.

Of course, the main reason was that this guy had arbitrarily taken in aliens from other empires within his territory.

Isn't this a betrayal of Asgard?!

Fury's body involuntarily took a step back.

His single eye was wide, filled with disbelief.

HYDRA!

Impossible!

Absolutely impossible!

They were clearly defeated by Captain America… Tony and Jane Foster were also stunned, they understood the German phrase, and people in this World were all too familiar with the name HYDRA.

HYDRA was a World War II organization, they didn't expect it to still exist? And within S.H.I.E.L.D.?

This news was too shocking, making them forget their differences for a moment.

"Oh, right, and also…"

As if he thought the shock wasn't great enough, Leon put down his wine glass and lightly pointed his finger in the air.

Suddenly, a golden light screen appeared out of thin air in front of everyone.

Some blurry figures began to appear on the light screen.

There were high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents, government officials, and even some familiar faces.

Then, those figures began to twist and deform like melting wax figures, eventually turning into green goblins with wrinkled skin and pointed ears.

"Skrulls, a very interesting race, aren't they?"

Leon's voice rang in Fury's ear.

"They can take on anyone's appearance, blend in among you, replace your family, friends, even yourselves."

"Tony." Leon turned his head, smiling as he looked at him.

"When you go home tonight, you'd best check carefully if there's a green assistant by your bed."

"After all, who can guarantee that the person you hug to sleep every night is still the original you?"

Silence.

Still silence.

Fury stood frozen.

His thoughts raced.

Captain Marvel, Skrulls… These were the secrets he believed he had hidden deepest, secrets that could overturn the entire World order.

But now, these secrets were spoken out by Leon like a joke.

He felt like a self-proclaimed clever gambler, thinking he held a royal flush, only to find four Aces, four Kings, four Queens on the other person's table… He lost.

He lost completely.

He lost utterly.

His proud intelligence network, his reliance on schemes and calculations, all became self-righteous.

All of this became a joke in front of this man.

"Who exactly… are you?"

After a long while, Fury asked in a low voice a question that sounded redundant.

"Me?"

Leon smiled.

I am your long-awaited Master… cough cough.

"I haven't left home for two thousand years, have I become that unknown?"

"Leon Odinson, do I need to introduce this name further?"

"Or, you can understand it as a tourist who just happens to know a little more than you."

Fury stared at him intently, his single eye bloodshot.

"A tourist?" He laughed self-deprecatingly.

"Then I'd like to ask, Mr. All-knowing Tourist…"

"How strong are you, exactly?"

"The strong in the Universe are endless, your self-proclaimed strength, in the face of true existence, might be no different from a firefly."

This was his last counterattack.

Using his meager cosmic knowledge to question the other party's power.
