Sandy's expression chilled. She leaped to her feet and smacked the table with her palms. "Felicia!" Felicia didn't even turn around. She simply turned to leave. Felicia took up a tiny mirror from her desk and examined the tiny scrape on her cheek. It was scarcely noticeable and shallow. She used a moist wipe to dab at it. There's no need to worry about it. One additional mark didn't really matter on a face like hers. That girl from earlier was on her mind. Something about her seemed very familiar.
Her phone rang just before the conclusion of the workday. It was Colton, her father. As he sold all he owned to pay off their debt, Colton was growing older in front of her. He hadn't forced her to go to the Hawthornes to make any demands when he learned she was expecting Max's child. After observing her father get increasingly weary and exhausted, Felicia made up her decision.
She personally visited the Hawthorne family. She had her own motivations, not only for her father but also for herself. The enormous wedding presents from the Hawthornes ultimately helped the Ross family pay off their obligations. She paid for what she received, but it was what she wanted. She inflicted all of her current suffering on herself. She was aware of that. Nobody else could be held accountable.
"He wrapped things up early," shot back Colton.Okay. I'll stop by after work. Felicia took a car to the Ross family's apartment. It was a large, used apartment in a relatively recent building on the city's west side. Colton operated a mid-sized real estate company. Although they didn't lead an ostentatious life, they were always at ease. Felicia had been surrounded by everything she required as a child.
However, the real estate market was collapsing at the moment. A poor investment had almost destroyed the business about six months earlier. Ava left the kitchen as soon as she arrived home. "Felicia, you're back." When Felicia was nine years old, her parents divorced. Felicia was left behind when her mother and her brother departed. Later, her father get to know Ava. They lived together as partners and never bothered with papers. At first, Felicia had detested Ava and refused to accept her.
She eventually noticed Ava's generosity, though, and Greg began to treat her like family. She acquired another brother after losing the first."Where are Greg and Dad? "They are en route. I should be home shortly. "Alright, thank you. She proceeded to her room. Although she was now married, her father always made sure her bedroom was ready for her, including redoing it to her exact specifications.
All of the tension and pain vanished once she was in her own area. Observing the picture album on her nightstand, she perched on the side of her bed. She grabbed it and opened it. The first image was a ripped old family portrait. She had been eight years old. Holding her close, her father appeared youthful and attractive. On one side was her brother, who was a teenager at the time. Prior to Felicia, her mother was on the other... or had been. removed her from the image. She had detested her mother for abandoning her and adopting her brother.
That intense pain was now a dim recollection that was hardly noticeable. She flipped to the following page. She was standing beside a golden ginkgo tree, dressed in a white dress and wearing a light brown woven hat. She was in her teens. Her smile was brightened by the sun. Her features were vibrant and full of life, and her small, delicate face was framed by long dark hair. Her eyes, too, shone like stars.
It was before to her illness. She gained weight as a result of the drug, and she was unable to lose it despite her best efforts to diet and exercise. She was limited to trying to avoid gaining any more. The girl from earlier in the day suddenly came to mind. Her face, particularly her eyes, bore a striking resemblance to the girl in the picture. similar to her younger self.
