Chapter 9: You can bring people, but... it'll cost extra!
"We're here." Lingling pulled out the commission letter and waved it in front of the two young women.
The two young women were startled for a moment. Then, the one dressed in Han-Tang style clothing asked with some uncertainty, "Qingtian Hunter Agency?"
"That's right. There weren't any available Mages at the agency, so we found a newcomer to come along." Lingling patted Wang Feng's lower back and said in a relaxed tone.
"A newcomer?"
Upon hearing this, the two beautiful young women's expressions subtly changed, and a hint of doubt flashed in their eyes.
"What? Looking down on me?" Wang Feng raised an eyebrow, his tone carrying a hint of provocation.
"We're not looking down on your agency, otherwise we wouldn't have placed the commission. It's just that this mission is to clear out a nest of Cave Magic Slaves, and the nest is deep in the mountains. Just the two of you..."
The young woman dressed in tight-fitting clothes spoke with some hesitation, clearly doubting Wang Feng and Lingling's strength.
Wang Feng said nothing more, simply raised his hand silently, and Summoning magic was instantly released.
A crescent moon-shaped Star-Orbit slowly emerged behind him, emitting a faint, moon-white glow.
"Come out, Shana!"
As Wang Feng's words fell, a nimble silver figure leaped out from the Star-Orbit, landing steadily on the ground.
It was a gigantic silver wolf, the size of a small truck, its fur shining like silver threads, its eyes sharp as blades, and a powerful aura emanating from its entire body.
"A Battle General Level-level Magic Wolf!" The young woman in tight-fitting clothes exclaimed in shock upon seeing Shana, her eyes wide with astonishment.
She immediately realized her earlier rudeness and quickly bowed slightly to Wang Feng and Lingling, saying sincerely, "My apologies, I shouldn't have doubted your agency's decision."
"It's fine. We take money to solve problems. Where is the monster nest?" Lingling waved her hand, her tone calm, clearly accustomed to such situations.
In her younger years, when she accompanied her father on missions, she was often underestimated due to her young age.
Now, facing similar doubts, she remained unperturbed.
"My name is Mu Ningjiao, and this is my younger sister, Mu Nuxin. Thank you both for accepting the commission," Mu Ningjiao said.
Upon hearing Mu Ningjiao's self-introduction, Wang Feng suddenly realized, thinking to himself:
"I thought all the aristocratic young ladies in the Full-Magic World were this beautiful. So it's the Mu Family's twin beauties!"
As a major female character with a significant role in the early parts of the original novel, Wang Feng naturally couldn't forget Mu Ningjiao.
Not only was she exceptionally beautiful, but her strength was also not to be underestimated; she was an outstanding talent among the younger generation of the Mu Family.
As for Mu Nuxin, although she didn't have many appearances in the original novel, Wang Feng had heard her name before.
"I have a small request, I wonder if..." Before Mu Ningjiao could finish speaking, Wang Feng interjected, "You want to come along to hunt the demons?"
Mu Ningjiao was startled for a moment, then nodded, "That's right."
Wang Feng glanced at Lingling, his eyes conveying the meaning of "You were right."
Lingling, on the other hand, let out a proud huff, her eyes full of the triumphant expression of "What else did you expect? Learn from me, rookie!"
Mu Nuxin, standing nearby, explained, "My sister, Mu Ningjiao, is an Intermediate Level Plant System Mage; she won't hold you back. As for me, I'll wait for you here."
Upon hearing this, Wang Feng didn't rush to reply but turned to look at Lingling.
Lingling immediately understood, her face taking on a serious expression:
"This isn't easy to manage, after all, the commission didn't specify that the client also needed to accompany. If we need to change the commission content, then it will have to be re-evaluated."
As Lingling spoke, she rubbed her index finger and thumb together, a very clear hint.
Mu Nuxin, seeing this, immediately understood her meaning—they could come along, but it would cost extra!
She immediately said, "Re-evaluating is too much trouble. How about this: we can add an extra one million to the commission fee, and also add a very 'rare' item as compensation, how does that sound?"
"A rare item? What is it?" Wang Feng asked curiously.
"Well, that's a secret. You'll know once you and your sister complete this commission. I can guarantee with the Mu Family's reputation that it will definitely be a 'rare item'."
Mu Nuxin revealed a mischievous smile, her tone carrying a hint of mystery.
Wang Feng and Lingling exchanged glances, then nodded, "Alright, we'll take the additional commission!"
Wang Feng patted Shana's leg, and Shana crouched down, signaling for everyone to get on.
"Get in the car, ah no, get on the wolf!" Wang Feng picked up Lingling, pushed off with his feet, and easily jumped onto Shana's back.
Mu Ningjiao hesitated for a moment, then used Plant System magic to leap onto Shana's back.
"Shana, let's go!" Wang Feng stroked Shana's silver-white fur and said softly.
"Awoo~!" Shana let out a howl, then took swift strides, rushing deep into the mountains.
...
This is the border of the demon capital's safe zone. Most of the demons here are timid and low-level creatures like Giant-Eyed Rats.
Under the Battle General Level-level aura emanating from Shana, these demons were all frightened and scattered.
Before long, the group arrived at the location indicated by Mu Ningjiao.
Only then did Wang Feng allow Shana to retract her aura.
This was a small magic ore vein under the Mu Family's name, originally one of their many properties.
However, about a week ago, a group of Cave Magic Slaves suddenly invaded, forcing the mine to be abandoned.
After the Mu Family's own trained demon-hunting team surveyed it and found only about one nest of Cave Magic Slaves,
this matter was treated as a test and given to the two sisters, Mu Ningjiao and Mu Nuxin, to handle.
"This is it." Mu Ningjiao pointed to the entrance of a mine tunnel ahead, covered in vines and weeds, her tone carrying a hint of solemnity.
Lingling jumped directly off Shana's back and quickly walked to the mine entrance, examining it carefully.
A moment later, she turned and asked, "Are there any other entrances to this mine?"
Mu Ningjiao shook her head upon hearing this, "No, just this one. Why?"
Lingling frowned slightly and murmured, "I hope I'm overthinking this."
After speaking, she took out something resembling a fire starter from her red backpack, lit it, and threw it forcefully into the mine tunnel.
Within a few seconds, thick smoke billowed out from inside the tunnel.
"Quick, have your summoned beast blow into the tunnel!" Lingling shouted.
"Shana!" Wang Feng immediately commanded.
Shana, hearing this, took a deep breath, then powerfully blew into the mine tunnel.
The thick smoke was instantly blown entirely into the tunnel by Shana's airflow, and the smoke rapidly spread.
Lingling clapped her hands and explained:
"This is smoke I specially use to drive out humanoid demons like Cave Magic Slaves and Mountain Man. If there's only one exit here, they're bound to escape from here!"
Sure enough, a moment later, a series of "thump-thump" footsteps came from inside the mine, the sound growing closer, appearing urgent and chaotic.
Immediately following, a hunched, goblin-like demon rushed out of the mine entrance.
However, before Wang Feng could even give an order, Shana had already moved.
With a swing of her sharp claws, the demon was decapitated and fell to the ground.
Following that, the second and third Cave Magic Slaves rushed out of the mine one after another, each appearing panicked and agitated.
But before they could react, Shana had already dealt with them one by one.
Giving the Cave Magic Slaves no chance to resist at all.
