Nora couldn't move.
The rain poured down around them, the cold drops hitting the pavement like thousands of tiny drums.
Her heart was racing.
Daniel's eyes were glowing.
Golden.
That wasn't possible.
Humans didn't have eyes like that.
For a moment, Nora wondered if she was dreaming.
Maybe the shock had broken her mind.
Maybe she was still sitting in the hospital hallway from three years ago.
But the man in front of her was real.
Too real.
"Nora…"
His voice sounded deeper now.
Different.
More dangerous.
"You need to leave."
Nora shook her head.
"No."
Her voice was weak, but determined.
"I'm not leaving you again."
Lightning flashed across the sky.
For a brief moment, the world turned white.
And Nora saw something that made her blood freeze.
Daniel's teeth.
They had become longer.
Sharper.
Almost like fangs.
Her breath stopped.
"What… what are you?"
The man suddenly looked angry.
Not at her.
At himself.
His hands trembled.
His breathing became heavier.
"You shouldn't see this," he said.
His voice was strained.
Like he was fighting something inside him.
But Nora didn't move.
She couldn't.
Her mind was spinning.
Three years ago, Daniel had died in a car accident.
She had seen his body.
She had gone to his funeral.
She had cried for weeks.
So how could he be standing here now?
And why did he look like a monster?
The man grabbed his head again.
Memories crashed into his mind like violent waves.
Dark forests.
The smell of blood.
Running under the moon.
Hunting.
A pack of wolves surrounding him.
And a tall man with silver eyes standing in front of him.
"You survived death," the man had said.
"Which means you belong to us now."
The memory disappeared.
Daniel gasped for air.
Nora ran toward him.
"Daniel!"
He stepped back quickly.
"Don't call me that!"
His voice echoed through the empty street.
For a moment, both of them froze.
Then Nora whispered softly.
"You said my name."
Silence.
Daniel didn't answer.
But his eyes flickered.
"You remember me," she continued.
"And you know it."
The rain became stronger.
The streetlights flickered.
Daniel's chest rose and fell rapidly.
"Things changed," he said quietly.
"You wouldn't understand."
"Then explain it to me!" Nora shouted.
Her voice broke.
"I buried you!"
The words cut through the night like a blade.
Daniel's face darkened.
"I know."
Nora's heart skipped a beat.
"You… know?"
He nodded slowly.
"I remember the accident."
Nora felt dizzy.
"I remember the pain."
Her hands trembled.
"I remember dying."
The wind blew harder around them.
"And I remember waking up again."
Nora's eyes widened.
"Where?"
Daniel looked up at the sky.
At the hidden moon behind the clouds.
"In the forest."
His voice dropped to a whisper.
"Surrounded by wolves."
