Chapter 10 - The Radiance of the Afterglow

Elena stood by the window, the sun warming her skin, feeling the heavy weight of her beauty in a way that no longer felt like a burden. The ashes sat in a small pile on her pillow, a silver monument to the most perfect week of her life. She realized then that he hadn't left her; he had simply changed form, his essence now woven into the very fabric of her being. Every curve of her body felt more defined, more alive, as if the starlight he had brought had permanently illuminated her from within. She walked through her apartment with a new sense of purpose, her hips swaying with a confidence that drew the light to her. She knew that she would never again settle for a man who didn't recognize the divinity in her form, or who couldn't match the depth of her soul. The ghost of his touch remained a warm hum beneath her skin, a secret rhythm that only she could hear.

She was a woman who had been loved by a star, and that knowledge made her invincible. She took the silver ashes and placed them in a small, crystal locket, wearing it between her breasts where it could rest against her heart. As she stepped out into the world that afternoon, the sun caught the locket and her skin, making her look as though she were walking in a halo of light. She was Elena, curvy and beautiful and whole, a living testament to a love that was too bright to last, but too powerful to ever truly die. She was the master of her own climax now, the architect of her own joy.
