Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:The Girl Who Never Showed Her Face

Delhi's old market streets had a strange rhythm of their own.

From morning until late evening, the narrow lanes stayed alive with noise—shopkeepers calling out discounts, customers bargaining loudly, the smell of street food floating through the air, and crowds constantly moving from one shop to another.

Among the largest clothing stores in that market stood Rahul Textiles.

It was a three-floor showroom filled with expensive fabrics, designer suits, sarees, and imported materials. Bright white lights reflected off the glass shelves, making the colorful fabrics shine beautifully. Mannequins near the entrance displayed the newest fashion styles.

Most of the shop's operations were handled by the owner's son, Rahul.

At twenty-four years old, Rahul had already taken responsibility for much of the business. He was tall, confident, and well dressed. Customers trusted him easily, suppliers respected him, and employees followed his instructions without hesitation.

But Rahul had developed a strange habit.

Every evening around 5 PM, he would unconsciously glance toward the entrance of the showroom.

Almost as if he was waiting for someone.

And most days…

She came.

A girl.

No one in the shop had ever seen her face.

She always entered the showroom with her mother.

The girl wore a long black abaya, and her face was completely covered with a veil. Only her eyes were visible.

And those eyes were unforgettable.

The First time

Rahul still remembered the first day he noticed her.

It had been about six months ago.

That afternoon, the shop was extremely busy. Wedding season had started, and customers filled every section of the showroom.

Rahul was standing near the billing counter, checking inventory details on his phone when the glass door opened.

A middle-aged woman walked inside with a girl beside her.

At first, Rahul didn't pay attention.

But then something made him look up.

The girl stood quietly beside her mother while her eyes slowly scanned the shelves full of colorful fabrics.

For some reason, Rahul kept looking at her.

It wasn't just because her face was covered.

There was something calm and different about her presence.

The woman spoke to one of the salesmen.

"Excuse me, could you please show me some new cotton suit designs?"

The salesman quickly started bringing different fabrics.

The girl remained silent.

She simply stood beside her mother, watching the fabrics carefully.

Rahul found himself glancing at her again.

He couldn't even see her face… yet something about her presence caught his attention.

Her eyes moved slowly from one dress to another.

Then suddenly—

She looked directly at Rahul.

Their eyes met.

Just for a moment.

Then she quickly looked away.

Rahul blinked in confusion.

"Why did that feel strange?" he wondered.

He shook his head and returned to his work.

But strangely, for the rest of the evening… he kept noticing her again and again.

Not intentionally.

But his eyes kept finding her in the crowd.

A Pattern Begins

After that day, the woman and her daughter started visiting the shop regularly.

Sometimes once a week.

Sometimes twice.

The mother talked a lot.

The daughter hardly spoke.

During one of their visits, Rahul eventually learned their names.

The woman's name was Shabana.

And the girl's name was Noor.

Noor.

The name suited her perfectly.

Even though her face was hidden, there was something calm and graceful about her presence.

Rahul started noticing small details.

Noor always stood slightly behind her mother.

She never removed her veil.

She never spoke loudly.

Whenever someone tried to speak to her directly, she answered very briefly.

Almost like she wanted to avoid attention.

But the most mysterious thing about her… were her eyes.

They were expressive.

Very expressive.

Even though she spoke very little, her eyes revealed emotions easily.

Curiosity.

Shyness.

Sometimes even nervousness.

Rahul slowly realized something.

Every time Noor entered the shop, the noisy showroom suddenly felt quieter to him.

Even though nothing had actually changed.

The Number

One evening, Shabana came to the shop alone.

Rahul noticed immediately.

"Where is Noor today?" he wondered without realizing it.

Shabana walked directly to the counter.

"The suit I bought last time turned out to be slightly darker than expected."

Rahul smiled politely.

"That's not a problem. You can exchange it."

They spoke for a few minutes about fabrics and designs.

Before leaving, Shabana said casually,

"Could you give me your phone number? Sometimes it's difficult for me to come to the market. If I need something, I can contact you."

Rahul nodded and wrote his number on a small piece of paper.

"Of course."

She thanked him and left the store.

Rahul didn't think much about it.

At least… not at that moment.

But later that night, around 8:30 PM, his phone vibrated.

An unknown number.

Rahul opened the message.

"Hello, this is Shabana. I took your number from the shop today."

Rahul replied politely.

"Hello, how can I help you?"

The conversation was simple.

She asked about some fabrics.

Rahul sent a few photos from the shop.

And that was it.

But after that day… something unusual started happening.

The Curiosity

Sometimes the same number would send messages asking about fabrics.

Sometimes about new arrivals.

But Rahul slowly noticed something strange.

The messages felt different.

Some messages sounded like they were written by a middle-aged woman.

But sometimes…

The typing style completely changed.

Short replies.

Simple sentences.

And once… a message appeared.

"Thank you."

Just two words.

Rahul stared at the screen.

Something about that message felt different.

He replied.

"Did your mother like the fabric?"

A few seconds passed.

Then another message appeared.

"Yes."

Rahul frowned slightly.

That didn't feel like Shabana's style of texting.

Then a thought crossed his mind.

"Could it be… Noor?"

His heart beat slightly faster.

He typed slowly.

"Noor… is that you?"

The typing indicator appeared.

Then disappeared.

Then appeared again.

Finally a reply came.

"I should not be talking."

Rahul leaned back in his chair.

So it really was her.

A small smile appeared on his face.

Noor's World

At the same moment, Noor sat quietly on the edge of her bed in her small room.

Her phone was in her hands.

Her heart was beating faster than usual.

"Why did I reply?" she whispered softly to herself.

She quickly locked her phone.

Noor had never spoken to a boy like this before.

Her family was very strict.

Her father worked abroad.

Her mother managed the house.

And Noor had only one goal in life.

Her career.

She wanted to study hard, succeed, and build a life where she could stand on her own.

Relationships… distractions… love stories…

Those things had never been part of her plans.

But Rahul was different.

He had never said anything inappropriate.

He had never crossed any boundaries.

And yet… something about him made her nervous.

Because deep inside…

She knew he liked her.

Even though he had never seen her face.

The Beginning of Something

Back in his room, Rahul stared at the last message again.

"I should not be talking."

It sounded like fear.

Or maybe a warning.

But Rahul wasn't the type of person who gave up easily.

He typed another message.

"Alright. Then I will only talk about clothes."

For a moment there was no reply.

Then suddenly—

A new message appeared.

"That is fine."

Rahul smiled slightly.

He didn't know why.

But he had a feeling.

Something had just begun tonight.

Something small.

Something fragile.

Something that might change both their lives.

And somewhere else in the city…

Noor looked at the same message and whispered quietly,

"This should stop… before it becomes something else."

But deep inside…

She already knew.

It was too late.

Because sometimes…

A story begins long before people realize they are part of it.

And neither Rahul nor Noor had any idea that this simple conversation…Was about to change both of their lives.

To be continued…
