Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 :The Library Disaster

Adrian ran faster.

Students stared as he pushed through the crowded hallway.

"Hey!"

"Watch it!"

But Adrian ignored them.

Inside his mind, time stretched again.

Every step he took felt like seconds outside but minutes inside his thoughts.

His brain continued calculating.

Ventilation airflow.

Chemical density.

Distance from the science lab.

All the numbers connected like pieces of a giant puzzle.

The result was clear.

The poison would reach the library in under ninety seconds.

Adrian turned the corner.

The library doors were ahead.

Large glass panels revealed dozens of students sitting quietly.

Some reading.

Some studying.

Some whispering.

Completely unaware of what was about to happen.

Adrian's mind simulated the future again.

Future Scenario A

The gas reaches the room.

Students inhale it.

Within minutes, dizziness begins.

Then collapse.

Panic spreads.

Ambulances arrive too late.

Adrian rejected the scenario.

His brain searched for alternatives.

There had to be a way to stop it.

His eyes moved to the ceiling.

The ventilation system.

A metal air vent quietly releasing air into the room.

That was the source.

The poison would enter through that vent.

Adrian burst into the library.

The librarian immediately shouted.

"Hey! No running!"

But Adrian was already moving toward the center of the room.

His mind calculated something quickly.

If the air vent released the poison…

Then blocking the airflow could delay the spread.

Even a few seconds would matter.

Adrian grabbed a chair.

Students looked at him like he was insane.

"What is he doing?"

"Is he crazy?"

Adrian ignored them.

He climbed onto the table.

Then onto the chair.

Inside his mind, the countdown continued.

35 seconds.

Adrian jumped.

His hands grabbed the metal vent cover.

The metal rattled loudly.

Students gasped.

"Dude what are you doing?!"

28 seconds.

Adrian pulled harder.

The screws snapped loose.

The vent cover fell.

He quickly shoved his jacket inside the vent opening.

17 seconds.

Airflow slowed.

But that wasn't enough.

His brain immediately calculated the remaining danger.

The poison would still leak through the system slowly.

They needed fresh air.

Immediately.

Adrian turned toward the windows.

Large glass windows sealed shut.

Emergency locks.

But his mind already saw the solution.

He grabbed another chair.

Students shouted.

"HEY!"

"What are you doing?!"

Adrian threw the chair.

CRASH.

Glass shattered everywhere.

Cold air rushed into the room.

Students screamed.

The librarian looked horrified.

"ARE YOU INSANE?!"

But Adrian stood perfectly still.

Watching.

Calculating.

Waiting.

Seconds passed.

No one collapsed.

No dizziness.

No panic.

The fresh air had diluted the poison.

The disaster had been stopped.

The room slowly filled with confused whispers.

"What was that about?"

"Why did he break the window?"

"Is he crazy?"

Adrian climbed down from the chair.

His heart was beating fast.

But not from fear.

From realization.

Everything he predicted…

had happened exactly.

The poison.

The collapse.

The ventilation spread.

The library danger.

His mind was not just fast.

It was predicting the future.

Sirens suddenly echoed outside.

Ambulances.

Police.

Teachers rushed into the library.

"What happened here?!"

The librarian pointed directly at Adrian.

"That boy just destroyed the window!"

But another voice interrupted.

"Wait."

A tall man stepped forward.

A detective.

His sharp eyes examined the broken vent.

The shattered window.

Then Adrian.

The detective spoke calmly.

"You broke the window to stop the airflow."

Adrian didn't answer.

The detective continued.

"You predicted the poison would reach this room."

Silence filled the library.

Then the detective smiled slightly.

"That's interesting."

He stepped closer to Adrian.

"Because the poison report from the science lab…"

"…was confirmed only twenty seconds ago."

Adrian's eyes widened slightly.

The detective extended his hand.

"My name is Marcus Hale."

He looked directly at Adrian.

"And I think your brain is hiding something very unusual."

Across the city…

Inside the dark room filled with monitors…

The mysterious man watched the entire scene.

He smiled slowly.

"Remarkable."

One of the screens showed Adrian's brain activity from hidden sensors.

The numbers were rising rapidly.

The man whispered to himself.

"The awakening has begun."

Back in the library…

Adrian suddenly felt something strange again.

A thought appeared in his mind.

A prediction.

Not seconds.

Not minutes.

But something much bigger.

Something terrifying.

His brain calculated one final possibility.

If someone poisoned the school ventilation system…

Then today's attack was only a test.

And the real plan…

had not even started yet.
