The blade of the Prisoner cracked. Dark clouds leaked out from inside the sword.
The sword enlarged and transformed. From an ordinary small blade, it transformed into a huge broad blade with black wings as its guard.
Large black feathers appeared on the handle of the blade then spread onto Carter. Soon, he was completely covered in black feathers.
The noses of the Terrors twitched. All of them snapped their head toward Carter's direction. They became aggravated and rushed at him like they just smelled the best meal they could ever eat.
Carter twisted the handle. The black feathers on him erupted. The feathers shot out and sliced all the Terrors near him.

The more Terrors Carter killed, the less Synchronization it gave. In the end, each Terror only gave Carter 0.5% of Synchronization.
Nina's eyes fluttered as she observed the impossible in front of her.
Carter walked out from the cloud of feathers. His white robe disappeared. There was only a black armor of hell. The surface was rough and jagged. The helmet was sleek with a sharp beak in the front. On his back were the engravings of two large wings.
In the middle of his chest was a red circle.
Carter swung the Prisoner, now twice as big as before. The Prisoner shot out a wave of dark beams.
All the Terrors were immediately broken into pieces.

Nina fell down to the ground and fainted because of the shockwave.
The Eldritch Knight slowly walked forward. He tilted his head toward the direction Alan had disappeared to.
In the darkness, the large body of Alan lurking. Carter could see Alan. The panic on his face and the sweat on his skin. He was terrified.
"What the hell is that?! And they said that this is a lower dimension?" Alan didn't look back. He ran as quickly as he could.
Carter raised his sword then threw it at Alan.
The Prisoner transformed into a hawk and pierced through the air.
Alan's ears twitched as he heard the shrieking sound of the hawk. He turned back only to witness it splitting his back.
Carter raised his hand. The hawk transformed back into a blade and flew back to Carter. It brought Alan with it.
The Eldritch Knight grabbed Alan's throat.
"Please! Mercy!" Alan groaned in pain.
Carter grabbed his throat and lifted his feet off the ground. The gagging noise came out of Alan's mouth.
"Not so tough now, Primer."
"I... I don't know you... Why do this?" Alan tried his best to speak out.
"Did you already forget this rat?" Carter smirked under the mask.
Alan widened his eyes. The last thought of him was denial. He couldn't believe that the weak newbie he bullied was a monster of a character.
"You! Can't be!"
"Goodbye." Carter crushed his throat and his neck.
Alan's head titled to the side as life left him.
"Hmmm... I wonder..."
Carter plunged his hand into Alan. A pulsing hammer icon appeared on Alan's head and a progress bar slowly filled up.
Soon, Alan's body disintegrated into nothingness. Not even ash was left behind.

Carter's eyes darted to the woman on the ground, Nina. She was dying.
'There is a more important thing to do at hand.'
Carter looked at the red circle on his chest. Half of it had almost disappeared. That was the countdown for how long he could stay in this form.
Eldritch Knight could only use the Unbound form for 99 seconds. After that, there would be grave consequences.
Carter tapped the circle and deactivated the form. The feathered armor disappeared and the white robe returned. He had returned to his human form.
Carter picked Nina up and walked away.
'This woman is a Cyber Slave but she's useful.'
Carter found a small garage nearby. He used the Prisoner to break the lock and lifted the garage door open. Eldritch Knight was surprisingly strong. Superhuman strength. It made the garage door feel like paper in Carter's hand.
But Carter felt extremely familiar with this body. He could control the strength of the Eldritch Knight like he had been the skin for many years.
The higher the Synchronization, the better he was at controlling. Synchronization wasn't simply a goal. It also helped him use the skin more efficiently.
'So this is the true power behind Synchronization.'
Carter left Nina on the table. There was no one in the garage at all. This entire town seemed like it was deserted. But every piece of electronics still worked.
That puzzled Carter a little.
He found a piece of cloth inside the garage and wrapped it around Nina's eyes. Then he began to do what he brought her here for.
Carter's fingers plunged into the Cyber Core in her right arm. Electricity blasted out immediately.
It didn't hurt Carter but it made Nina convulse immediately. She would die quicker if Carter continued. So he stopped.
'A failsafe… I should have known.'
The Cyber Core would kill the Cyber Slave if it was removed. Carter would have died if he tried to remove the Cyber Core the ordinary way.
