After dinner, Rong Ci had just returned home when Yu Moxun's call came through.
Upon learning why Nan Zhizhi had been looking for her, he said, "Ren Yi'an and Ji Huanying? I already know them."
He then added, "By the way, that Ren Jifeng is actually Ren Yi'an's son. Tsk, the father is so impressive; I have no idea why the son's judgment is so blind at such a young age."
Rong Ci really hadn't expected Ren Jifeng to be Ren Yi'an's son. However, it had nothing to do with her.
On Tuesday, during the initial test of Xundu's self-driving car, Rong Ci and Yu Moxun went to Xundu early in the morning. When they arrived, Ren Jifeng, Yao Xinbo, and their group were already there.
Seeing them, Ren Jifeng only spared them a glance before withdrawing his gaze. Yu Moxun didn't care to pay him any mind either, pulling Rong Ci along to begin the testing preparations.
Seeing that the preliminary work was finished but the staff showed no sign of starting the test, Yu Moxun asked, "Why haven't we started yet?"
General Manager Quan replied, "CEO Feng is coming to personally oversee the test. We will officially begin once he arrives."
Yu Moxun said, "...Oh." Remembering something, he asked, "By the way, why haven't I seen Miss Lin today?"
Didn't Lin Wu say before that she wanted to come to Xundu to improve herself? How could she stop showing up after only a few days?
General Manager Quan smiled and said, "Oh, didn't Miss Lin say she wanted to refine her skills? CEO Feng said the fastest and best way to improve is to lead a project team oneself. So, last week, CEO Feng had an abandoned project reintegrated. These past two days, Miss Linno, I should call her Director Lin nowhas formed a team and is currently upstairs in a meeting."
Yu Moxun was speechless. He turned his head to glance at Rong Ci. He saw her looking down at a notebook, recording previous test data, showing no reaction to General Manager Quan's mention of Feng Tingshen forming a team for Lin Wu.
He sighed and patted her head.
Rong Ci slapped his hand away. "Don't fidget."
Yu Moxun thought to himself that her tone was decent; it sounded like she truly didn't care anymore. He felt relieved.
At that moment, Feng Tingshen arrived. Coming along with him were He Changbai and Qi Yuming. He Changbai and Qi Yuming were clearly surprised to see Rong Ci there as well. Their faces showed looks of astonishment.
Rong Ci, however, remained expressionless, giving them a brief look before looking away.
Feng Tingshen approached them politely and said, "Thank you for your hard work, everyone."
General Manager Quan asked, "CEO Feng, can we begin now..."
"Wait a moment, we're waiting for one more person." Feng Tingshen raised his arm to check his watch. "I'll go upstairs to check on them. Please wait a moment."
After saying that, he left.
Rong Ci wasn't trying to overthink it, but she knew that the "one more person" Feng Tingshen mentioned was Lin Wu. In other words, they couldn't officially start the test until Lin Wu finished her meeting.
Yu Moxun obviously realized this too, gritting his teeth so hard he almost cursed out loud.
Feng Tingshen and Lin Wu soon came downstairs. Together with them was Sun Liyao. Sun Liyao wasn't surprised to see Rong Ci, as Lin Wu had told her in advance. Seeing that Rong Ci was clearly Feng Tingshen's wife yet was relegated to waiting like a subordinate for her sister to finish a meeting, Sun Liyao's eyes filled with irony and triumph.
Rong Ci didn't bother wondering why Sun Liyao was also appearing at Xundu in a professional suit. She looked away with indifference.
Lin Wu apologized politely, "I'm sorry to have kept you all waiting."
Her apology was sincere, but as she spoke, she only looked toward Ren Jifeng's group and Yu Moxun. She didn't even spare a glance for Rong Ci. Clearly, her apology didn't include her.
Ren Jifeng's attention wasn't on Rong Ci either, so he naturally didn't care about such details. He said, "It was only a few minutes, no matter."
"CEO Ren is truly magnanimous," Yu Moxun said as he stood up, his tone cold. "Since you're down, let's stop wasting our time and get started."
Feng Tingshen said courteously, "It was our mistake. CEO Yu, please."
Yu Moxun gave a cold snort and pulled Rong Ci along, leading the way out of the conference room. Seeing Yu Moxun holding Rong Ci so familiarly, Feng Tingshen saw it but immediately looked away, clearly unconcerned. He Changbai, however, looked at the two of them a few more times.
Among the group, Feng Tingshen and Lin Wu were the center of attention. When they reached the testing ground, the staff reported respectfully, "CEO Feng, Miss Lin, we are ready."
The staff's posture made it clear they already considered Lin Wu the "boss's wife."
Feng Tingshen said, "Begin."
"Yes, sir."
They could clearly see the driving conditions on the monitors. After the test driver successfully completed one round, the staff asked if Feng Tingshen and Lin Wu wanted to go up and experience it for themselves. Feng Tingshen agreed.
He and Lin Wu got into the same car. On the monitor, the two of them could be seen talking happily. When they looked at each other, their gazes seemed almost inseparable.
Rong Ci watched the monitor without looking away, her expression calm. Yu Moxun, however, was full of disdain.
Qi Yuming also wanted to try. He was about to speak to He Changbai when Sun Liyao walked over to He Changbai. "CEO He, shall we"
He Changbai cut her off directly. "You guys go ahead, I'm not very interested."
Sun Liyao was choked for words.
Nearby, General Manager Quan said to Yu Moxun and Rong Ci, "CEO Yu, Miss Rong, would you like to try it?"
The two of them understood the car's condition better than many of Xundu's staff. They had originally intended to try it, but now, they were so full of annoyance that they had no desire left.
Yu Moxun snorted, "No."
Rong Ci smiled slightly and whispered in his ear about the car's engine specs, adding, "Are you sure you don't want to try?"
Yu Moxun glared at her, then asked, "How did you know that?"
Rong Ci rubbed her nose. "I accidentally caught a glimpse of the data they brought over earlier."
Having a good memory had its advantages.
Yu Moxun's mood finally improved. "Show me the replication when we get back."
"Alright." Saying that, she pulled him toward the car.
The test finished half an hour later. Feng Tingshen said, "Thank you for your hard work today. Shall we grab a meal together later?"
Ren Jifeng replied, "Sure."
Yu Moxun curled his lip and said flatly, "Sorry, we're not free. Enjoy your meal. we have other things to do, so we'll take our leave."
Seeing this, Feng Tingshen said, "In that case, another time then." He then turned to General Manager Quan. "See CEO Yu and Miss Rong out."
General Manager Quan hurriedly replied, "Yes, sir."

Yao Xinbo lowered his voice and said to Ren Jifeng, "Why do I feel like Yu Moxun particularly dislikes CEO Feng and his people?"
Ren Jifeng had already noticed this the last time they met. Before, he thought he was overthinking things, assuming that was just Yu Moxun's personality. Now, it seemed he hadn't been overthinking it at all.
