Prologue
The annual Herera University camping trip was supposed to be a weekend of adventure and bonding for Sam Lexie Montana and her Classmates. But amidst the laughter and campfires, Sam's Life will ended at the edge of a cliff, but her story was far from over. She was reborn as Akhira Elisha Forge, she returned to Houeston City with thirst of revenge and a quest for truth.
Chapter 1: The Cliff
October 27th , 2024, Sam Lexie Montana stood at the bus stop, her backpack slung over her shoulder, as she gazed out at the misty morning. The Herera University Camping trip was finally here, and she couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension.
As she boarded the bus, the chatter of her classmates overwhelmed her. She exchanged nervous smiles with her friends and settled into her seat for two-hour ride.
The rumbled through the countryside, passing rolling hills and dense forest. Sam's thoughts drifted to the trip ahead, wondering what adventures awaited. Sam's friend Cindy Lin grasp her arm, excitement was radiating from her face. " Are you excited? It's going to be an epic weekend!"
Sam forced a smile, "Definitely. Let's enjoy the trip."
After an hour, the bus pulled up to the campsite, and the group spilled out, eager to start their adventure. The warm sunlight and crisp forest air greeted them filled with the scent of pine and wild flowers.
Cindy's eyes sparkled with mischief as she leaned in, her voice barely above whisper. "Hey Sam! You know I've got my eyes set on Ethan, right? This camping trip is my chance, I'm going to make him fall head over heels for me." She giggled.
" Have you seen those dreamy eyes? I'll have him wrapped around my finger in no time." Sam laughed, thinking Cindy was joking, but Cindy's gaze held a determine glint.
" I'm serious, Sam. Don't Laugh, Ethan's going to be mine." She said.
" Of course you are serious." Sam Giggled.
As they chatted, they simultaneously sensed Ethan's gaze. " Hey, Ethan's totally checking me out!" she whispered to Sam, her voice bubbling with excitement. But Sam followed Cindy's gaze and noticed Ethan's eyes weren't on Cindy- they were fixed on Sam herself, a soft, thoughtful expression on his face. Sam's cheeks warmed under Ethan's silent scrutiny.
Despite sensing Ethan's gaze on her, Sam played along, supporting Cindy's misconception.
"Yeah, Cindy, he's totally into you!" Sam said with a grin, nudging her friend.
Cindy beamed, her confidence boosted. " I knew it! I'm going to make him mine!" Sam chuckled, happy to see her friend so carefree.
As lunchtime approached, the campsite bustled with anticipation. Cindy was busy preparing the ingredients to be cook while Sam ventured into the nearby woods to gather some firewood. Ethan, noticing Sam's departure and he discreetly followed whilethe warm sunlight filtering through the trees.
Sam's thoughts wandered as she gathered firewood, the rustling leaves and snapping twigs filling the air. Ethan's approaching was silent, but his presence stirred a sense of awareness within her.
"Let me help you" Ethan said softly, his eyes locked on hers.
Sam's cheeks flushed, surprised by his sudden proximity. " I've got it" she replied, her voice barely above whisper.
Ethan's gentle smile persisted. " Together, we can make it easier."
Sam's hesitation dissipated, and they worked together. The scent of wood smoke and wildflowers enveloped them, the warmth of the sun casting a cozy glow.
Ethan and Sam returned to the campsite, carrying firewood together. Cindy was busy stirring the sizzling vegetables, glance over her shoulder.
"Smells amazing! Cindy, Your cooking skills are impressive."
Cindy's cheeks flushed hearing Ethan's compliments. "T-thank you , Ethan." She shuttered, her eyes sparkling. "Want to taste it?" she asked, ladling a spoonful of her dish.
Ethan's eyes lit up. "I'd Love to," he said, his voice warm.
As Cindy handed him the spoon, their fingers touched briefly. Ethan took a bite, closing his eyes to savor the flavors. "Mmm, incredible!" He exclaimed.
Cindy beamed, her heart fluttering at Ethan's praise. Sam, observing the exchange and smiled warmly.
Ethan picked up the spoon and turned to Sam. " Try this." Ethan persisted.
Sam hesitated, glancing at Cindy, who was watching them. " I'm good, thanks" Sam said soflty, avoiding Ethan's gaze.
Ethan's eyes sparkled mischievously. " Come on, just one bite. Right Cindy?" he teased, holding the spoon near Sam's lips. " Don't you want to try my dish, Sam? Just take a bite." Cindy said permitting Sam to take Ethan's offer. Sam's eyes darted to Cindy, who was looking away trying to hide her unease. Ethan's persistence made Sam resistance weaken. She reluctantly opened her mouth, and Ethan fed her a small bite. As Sam chewed, Ethan's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze playful. Sam's cheeks flushed, feeling a mix of excitement and guilt.
"Ethan! Over here, Dude!" Just as the tension was becoming unbearable, a classmate called out. "I have to go, thank you for the bite Cindy. See you later Sam!" Ethan simile and turned than walked away leaving Sam and Cindy alone.
Cindy's eyes narrowed, her voice low and even. " Sam, can I talk to you for a sec?"
Sam's heart sank, sensing the impending confrontation. " What's up, Cindy?"
"What's going on between you and Ethan?" Cindy's words spilled out, her tone was accusatory.
"Nothing, I swear! I went to get firewood for your cooking and he offered to help. Maybe he wanted to taste your food." Sam's voice rose in defense.
Cindy's expression softened slightly "Calm down, okay, I was just asking. Maybe you were right, he insisted to taste my food."
Sam exhaled, relieved "Exactly!"
Cindy's gaze lingered on Sam before nodding. " okay, I trust you."
The tension dissipated, replaced by the crackling fire and Cindy's simmering stew.
Night fell, and the group gathered around the campfire, swapping stories. Sam and Cindy sat together. Ethan's gaze drifted to Sam who was across from them, his eyes sparkling in the firelight. He felt a flutter in his chest. He stand and approach them. " Can I sit here" pointing on the space beside Sam. Cindy gaze at Sam and nodded at Ethan. "Of course you can." Cindy answered. Sam felt awkward. " hey, need some water" Sam said getting up. "I'll refill our bottles. Ethan, just take my seat. "
Cindy similed, oblivious. " okay, thank Sam."
Ethan sat beside Cindy, but his attention remained on Sam, now walking away.
"Hey, Ethan. What's on your mind?"
Ethan forced a smile. " Just enjoying the view."
Cindy followed his gaze, noticing Sam in the distance. Her eyes narrowed slightly.
" Sam's really great, isn't she?" Cindy said in a casual tone.
Ethan's heart raced. "yeah, she's amazing."
Cindy's gaze lingered on him, sensing something.
"Ethan, can I ask you something?" Cindy's voice was soft.
" Sure, what's up?" Ethan replied in a cautious manner.
" Do you have feelings for Sam?" she asked.
Ethan's heart skipped a beat. Before he could answer, Sam returned with water bottles.
"Hey guys, here's some water." Sam said, breaking the tension between them.
Cindy's gaze lingered to Ethan, her expression was unreadable.
Ethan's relief was palpable. " Thanks, Sam."
Cindy's eyes sparkled mischievously. "Hey, guys! Let's play Truth or Dare!"
Ethan's heart sank, sensing trouble.
Their classmates grinned. " Sounds fun! Where in!"
"I'm in, let's role the bottle!" Eric, one of their classmate said.
Eric rolled the bottle and it pointed at Cindy. Everyone was excited.
" okay, truth or dare?" Eric asked.
"To make it fun, it's a Dare" Cindy smirked.
" I dare you to kiss Ethan." Eric's eyes sparkled.
Cindy's gaze locked onto Ethan.
Cindy's eyes never left Ethan's, her heart racing. Ethan's face went pale, his eyes wide with unease.
"I..I can't" Ethan stammered, stepping back.
Cindy's smile faltered with confusion etched on her face.
" Why not?" Eric asked, curiosity sparking.
Ethan's gaze drifted to Sam, his heart pounding.
"I… I have feelings for someone else,"
Gasps and whispers spread through the group.
Cindy's eyes widened. " Sam?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ethan nodded, his eyes locked on Sam's.
Sam's face flushed and her eyes sparkling with surprise.
Cindy's eyes welled up with her face crumpling. She swiftly turned and walked away from the group. Sam's gaze at Ethan before concern drew her to Cindy. "Cindy, Wait!"
Sam's hurried after Cindy, leaving the group behind. As they walk , the path narrowed winding the near the cliff's edge.
Cindy's eyes blazed with anger and hurt, feeling deeply betrayed.
"You're supposed to be my best friend, Sam" Cindy's voice trembled. "but you're stilling Ethan from me?"
Sam stepped back, frightened by Cindy's intensity.
"Cindy, please understand—" Sam tried to reason.
But Cindy's pain and anger boiled over.
" How could you?!"Cindy shouted, her hands were shaking.
In a moment of blind rage, Cindy shoved Sam.
Sam's scream echoed as she tumbled off the cliff.
Cindy's face contorted in horror.
"No…what have I done?" Cindy whispered stunned.
Ethan rushed to the cliff's edge, scanning the ground below.
"Sam!" he screamed in panicked.
Ethan's eyes locked onto Cindy's, his expression a mix of shock, anger, and grief.
"Cindy, what have you done?" Ethan's voice trembled,
Cindy's face crumpled, overwhelmed by guilt and shame.
"I didn't mean to… I was so hurt,"
Cindy whispered,
Ethan's gaze never wavered.
"Hurt? You were hurt? You just killed Sam,your friend, the woman I love!"
Cindy's eyes widened, horrified by Ethan's words.
Sam's body lay motionless at the base of the cliff. Ethan's screams echoed through the valley. The paramedics rushed to Sam's side but it was too late.
"She's gone" one of them whispered.
Ethan's world shattered….
