The sun peeked through the window illuminating the whole room. Jane woke up and yawned. She looked at the room with her drowsy eyes , feeling unfamiliar with the place she jerked awake. She finally remembered that she came over to this era yesterday. She finally got up from the bed and entered her space. On getting into her space, she took her bath in the lake there. After having her bath , she suddenly felt awakened and energized for the day. The spring water opened her pores which made her feel comfortable. Not daring to soak for too long , she came out of the water and discovered her skin have become a shade lighter than before . Her face showing in the reflection of the mirror was like fresh peeled egg, not a single pore or blemish could be seen and more delicate and fairer. After changing her clothes, she put her pyjamas in the washing machine and left to the field. As she walked through her space, she found the air fresher and greenery replaced the original desolation as far as her eyes could see. She found out that medicinal herbs she planted have all grown especially the ginseng. The ginseng are aged differently. Some are 1000,800, 500,200,100,50 and 30 respectively. If anyone knew she possessed this it could cause envy and bring unwanted attention to herself. Wheat sprouts reached her calves, corn up to her waist . Everything is thriving here and the most fascinating thing about her space is that nothing withers or spoils in her space unless removed outside. As she went to the livestock section , she discovered that they have multiplied again. Which means that they have access to meat. She went to the chicken section, retrieved a basket and started gathering eggs. The eggs filled five baskets. She kept it in the storage area.
"It seems I should start making plans to gradually sell this in order to prepare for the era of capitalism ,because in two years all of this will end and the economy will open" she muttered to herself as she left her space.
Finding her self back to her room, she went downstairs and saw her parents were already up.
"Dad, Mom .... She greeted. Her father was reading the news papers while her mother was knitting a sweater. How was your night? They asked her. It was splendid she said. So what are we having for breakfast? Jane asked her parents. Let's have soybean milk and deep fried dough sticks for breakfast. Is that okay for you guys? Yes . Jane immediately went to set the table. She retrieved the breakfast she and added a couple of boiled eggs for everyone. It was a nutritious breakfast and everyone felt full. After clearing the table, the family sat down together to have a meeting.
Jane spoke , " Dad, according to my dreams this house will be raided and our assets will be seized. It is better we quietly sell of our assets and go to our village. It is better we reside in the countryside till this whole phase passes to avoid being sent down to the cowshed. We better move our household registration first, when things calm down we will return. You can take payment in gold, artifacts. Besides we have a secure space here. We should keep a low profile.My brothers in the military should be safe from all of this.
"You are right dear, we will do as you said. Seeing that her parents are in the same page with her she finally heaved a sigh of relief. Her father immediately went out to sale the house while she and her mother kept all the valuables that are home in the space.They stripped of all the decorations at home and the house laid bare expect the bed. All the rosewood furnitures, silk cloths were stored away including their clothes. Jane and her mother entered the space and brought out the fabric to make clothes for her family. She picked out dull, and dark colours. Thank God I acquired sewing machines. She and her mother got to work . They made cloth for everyone in the family. With the two of using the electric sowing machine, it was faster . When they got hungry they ate stir fry noodles with orange juice and continued with sowing. When they were done, they packed very few clothes to take to the countryside.
Their father returned in the evening and was shocked on how bare the house was looking. The family of three settled down and had dinner. Jane brought out a simple dinning table from her space. The dishes that she brought out from her space were boiled beef slices ,steamed pork, sweet and sour fish,double cooked pork and four joy meatballs paired with stir fried cabbage , cucumber salad , tomatoes with sugar, white rice and tofu mixed with green onions. After having a delicious dinner, the pit dishes in the dishwasher and cleaned the table.
" So Dad , how did it go? Jane asked her father. It went well. I sold it to my rival Henry Winifred. The handover procedures will happen tomorrow and I will go to the bank to withdraw all my money. That's good dear, said Mrs Meyers. All right ,time to head to bed .We will continue tomorrow. They switched off the light and everyone went to bed. Jane entered her room, took her shower and went to bed
