Beside the massive corpse of the summoned snake, Yagyu raised his head and glanced at the ninja hawk in the sky.
Boom.
After withdrawing his gaze, a violent killing intent erupted from his body.
Step by step, Yagyu walked forward, the chakra blade in his hand flowing with sharp blade energy.
That terrifying killing intent and pressure forced the Sand and Sound ninja to retreat instinctively.
"Trash."
Seeing the enemy retreat just from his aura, Yagyu sneered.
"Come, let me crush you."
The moment his words fell,
In an instant, lightning chakra enveloped his body completely.
To others, he looked like a humanoid bolt of lightning, dazzling and blinding.
As the light burst forth, almost everyone instinctively closed their eyes from the intense glare.
Only a few wearing dark glasses managed to keep them open.
Then,
Slash, slash, slash.
The sound of blades cutting through flesh rang out.
It sounded simultaneous, but in truth there was a slight sequence, only too fast to distinguish clearly.
Three seconds.
In just three seconds, everything fell silent.
The blinding lightning disappeared as well.
The Konoha ninja slowly opened their eyes and looked ahead.
Thud.
The first body fell from a rooftop.
Like a chain reaction, more and more bodies collapsed or dropped to the street over the next ten seconds.
The scene felt strangely familiar, like dumplings being dropped into boiling water.
Gulp.
Someone swallowed.
Then many others did the same.
Shock filled their eyes.
Terrifying.
It was simply terrifying.
There had been at least sixty or seventy enemies.
All of them were killed instantly.
Such a feat was comparable to the Fourth Hokage eliminating fifty elite ninja.
Yet Yagyu was only twelve, and still a genin.
Crackle.
As the crowd stood stunned, a sharp sound rang out.
Yagyu appeared atop a pole, his lightning chakra fading away.
His clothes were stained with blood, making him look like a demon from hell.
Yet that youthful figure gave everyone a sense of security.
"The battle here is over."
Turning his head, Yagyu looked at the Konoha ninja.
"Move immediately, reinforce other areas, eliminate all enemies as quickly as possible."
As he spoke, he raised his hand, issuing a commanding gesture.
By logic, a genin giving orders to chunin and above should be ignored.
But reality was different.
"Yes!"
All the Konoha ninja responded in unison.
"Yagyu-sama!"
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
They vanished instantly to support other fronts.
There was no hesitation, no doubt.
It was as if Yagyu were the commander.
No one found it strange.
In the ninja world, strength determines status.
"Ha."
Letting out a breath, Yagyu looked at the burning battlefield.
Then he turned his gaze toward the exam arena.
After a brief hesitation, he decided to head there.
Not to save the Third Hokage.
But to see him one last time.
Once the Four Violet Flames Formation was activated, even Yagyu could not enter.
Just as he was about to move,
"Wait."
A rough yet bold voice called out.
Yagyu turned toward the source.
Whoosh.
A tall man with wild white hair, a forehead protector marked with "oil," and a large scroll on his back appeared.
The familiar appearance and powerful aura made it obvious.
One of the Legendary Sannin.
Jiraiya.
"Who are you?"
Yagyu asked cautiously.
Jiraiya smiled warmly.
He had already seen Yagyu before through the Third Hokage's telescope technique.
But Yagyu had never seen him.
"Yagyu Sōsuke, the old man's final disciple, I am your senior, Jiraiya."
Yagyu's eyes lit up as he showed surprise.
"You are Jiraiya-sama, one of the Sannin?"
Jiraiya nodded.
"That is right."
He paused briefly.
"I would like to chat, but this is not the time, I will ask you directly, what are you planning to do next?"
Without hesitation, Yagyu replied,
"I am going to the exam arena, the counterattack has begun, I need to assist the old man, something is wrong with the Kazekage, I have a bad feeling."
Jiraiya's expression turned serious.
"The Third Hokage is my responsibility, your task is to eliminate the invading enemies."
Yagyu frowned slightly.
To be honest, he did not want to follow that order.
Letting the Third Hokage fall was beneficial.
But that did not mean he felt nothing.
He wanted to see his teacher one last time.
