Carter landed on a roof and transformed into the System Ghost. The faceless man and observed the Invokers.
The Invokers battled with their brush. They drew them into the air. It seemed like they're writing letters. Each letter enforced a certain effect.
A letter turned into fire and burned the Terror in front of them. Another letter let out a gush of wind that pushed all the Terrors away.
'So that's how the Invokers fight.'
Then came a huge Terror. A large fat humanoid creature with the head of a pig. Carter knew right away that it was a Major Awaken. These ones were usually more powerful than the rest.
'Let's watch how they deal with it.'
"We got a dangerous one!" One shouted.
"Leave it to me! You guys hold the others off." A woman in a gothic dress said.
Carter recognized her. She was the one that he eavesdropped in the restaurant and was also present in the gathering.
She drew a letter in the air. Vines shot out from the letter and wrapped around the Major Terror.
'You're not going to stop it with that…'
The Terror broke free of the vines and charged at the Invoker. She drew a circular letter that materialized into a shield.
But that shield was feeble. It shattered the moment the Terror hit the Invoker, sending her flying away.
"Shit!" The Invoker cursed. "Retreat! We can't deal with it!"
'And that is my signal.'
Carter climbed down from the rooftop using System Ghost's Free-Running Skill. When he landed, he turned back to the Eldritch Knight.
The white-robe swordsman appeared in the alley and approached the group.
An Invoker saw him and shouted, "Run! There is a Major Terror!"
"I need no running." Carter said.
He unsheathed the Prisoner and mumbled, "Prisoner Unbound!"
The feathered armor and bird helmet materialized around him.
The Invokers widened their eyes and stared at him.
Carter placed the sword on the Holy Fire Bracer and scraped it through.
The fire enveloped the blade as he turned into a blur and slammed into the Major Terror.
"Wait!" The gothic girl shouted. But what happened in front of her eyes was more unbelievable.
The small knight shoved the huge Terror on the ground. Fire spread all over the dark creature as it screamed in pain.
"What on Hexilia…" Another Invoker said.
Carter sliced the broad sword over the Terror and decapitated it. A Terror that could kill all of the Invokers was taken care of within seconds.

He turned his head toward the gothic girl and shouted, "Careful!"
Carter bolted at the girl and pulled her over. He slashed at a Terror that was going to attack her from behind.
"Don't get distracted in battle!" Carter shouted.
The gothic girl nodded and stood up. She and the others regrouped. They started attacking the Terrors again.
But they were nothing compared to Carter. When they were struggling with the Terrors, each of his swings would end the life of one.

All the Terrors were killed. The Invokers breathed heavily. They didn't think that the Terrors would be so relentless tonight.
An Invoker seemed very desperate as he looked into the bloody scene. "It doesn't matter how many times we killed them. They will come back."
The gothic girl nodded. She squinted her fingers around her brush.
"They aren't coming back." Carter deactivated his armor and the white robe returned.
He placed his hand on the corpse of the Major Terror.

Then he went on to collect the rest of the Terrors.

"How?!" The gothic girl dropped her jaw. "It shouldn't be possible for you to exorcise a Terror unless you are a priest!"
The girl scanned Carter up and down. He didn't look like a priest. "But are you a priest?"
"I am no priest. I am an Eldritch Knight." Carter said nonchalantly.
The girl's pupils dilated slightly. She had just heard about that term earlier this afternoon.
"Do you know a man by the name Carter Caine?" She said.
"A friend of mine. Why?"
"He spoke the truth!"
"My god. There is such an existence of an Eldritch Knight."
"How can someone be this strong?"
The Invokers talked amongst themselves.
"Where is your knight? Why are you here alone?" Carter said.
The girl frowned. "What do you mean?"
"Invokers are meant to accompany an Eldritch Knight. Without one, you would be slaughtered by the Terrors."
The girl shook her head, "We don't have an Eldritch Knight. We didn't even know they existed until now."
"Really? The current society has degraded much more than I thought. I suggest you find a knight of your own if you want to survive the night."
Carter sheathed his sword and walked away, "I wish you good luck on your path."
"Wait! My name is Piper! What is your name, sir?"
Carter froze mid-step and turned his head back, "Zeneros Blackburn. Pleasure."
Then he continued on his path.
The image of the platinum card that Carter gave then flashed in Piper's mind. That was their ticket to get their own Eldritch Knight.
"Who has the business card that Carter Caine gave?" Piper said.
"I think Franklin has it."
Carter went into a secluded alley. From their short exchange, he learned that the Invokers couldn't kill the Terrors for good. That might be the reason why Terrors had invaded every corner of this land.
'They should give Carter Caine a call soon…'
Carter checked his current skin shards.
