Chapter 8 - Maid

Once everyone was done eating, the maids quietly cleared the plates.

Saki looked at Yamada.

"What now?"

Yamada looked at her.

"She will take care of you."

Saki blinked. "She?"

A maid walked into the dining room.

Silver hair tied in elegant semi-drills with a small red ribbon. Sharp purple eyes. She wore a refined black-and-white maid outfit that hugged her figure — shorter skirt than the other maids, with garter straps visible. She moved with graceful confidence.

Anri Shijou.

Anri gave a small, perfect bow.

"Pleasure to meet you, Miss Saki."

Saki stared. "Hello…?"

Yamada gestured toward her casually.

"This is Anri Shijou. My personal maid."

Saki looked between them, still processing.

"Personal maid?"

Yamada nodded.

"I have multiple maids and butlers who handle the mansion. But I have one personal butler and one personal maid."

Anri stepped forward. Her voice was smooth, polite, with just a hint of teasing underneath.

"I mostly take care of Master Yamada's day-to-day needs. I clean his room, prepare his three meals, maintain a certain private room… and take care of his nightly needs."

Saki's face turned bright red.

"Nightly… needs?"

Anri smiled sweetly, tilting her head.

"Yes. Whatever Master requires before bed."

Saki's brain visibly short-circuited. She looked at Anri's outfit again, then at Yamada, then back at Anri.

Yamada didn't look embarrassed at all. He simply stood up.

"Anri will help you settle in. Get you new clothes, toiletries, anything you need. You're staying here for now."

Saki stood up too, still flustered.

"Yamada-kun… this is really too much. I can't impose like this—"

"You're not imposing," he said firmly. "You're staying. End of discussion."

Anri gently took Saki's arm.

"Come with me, Miss Saki. I'll draw you a bath and prepare some clothes. We can talk more privately if you'd like."

Saki let herself be guided out of the dining room. She looked back at Yamada one last time.

He gave her a small nod.

"You're safe here."

As they disappeared down the hallway, Miyuri leaned toward her brother with a big grin.

"Onii-chan… your personal maid is super pretty. And a little scary."

Yamada flicked her forehead lightly.

"Finish your juice."

Miyuri giggled and rubbed the spot.

But her eyes were sparkling with curiosity.

Yamada looked toward the hallway where Anri and Saki had gone.

Anri had been with the family for years. Loyal. Sharp-tongued when they were alone. Extremely competent. And very good at reading what he needed — sometimes before he said it.

Adding her to the growing list of girls around him felt… natural.

He shook his head slightly.

One thing at a time.

Anri led Saki down the hallway and into a large, luxurious bathroom attached to the guest room.

Marble floors. A deep soaking tub already filling with hot water. Soft lighting. Towels neatly folded. Expensive-looking bath products lined up on a shelf.

Saki stood there awkwardly, still wearing the oversized t-shirt.

Anri closed the door behind them and smiled gently.

"Let's get you cleaned up. You'll feel better after a bath."

She stepped closer and started helping Saki out of the shirt. Saki blushed but didn't resist.

As the shirt came off, Anri's purple eyes scanned her body for a moment. Professional, but with a hint of amusement.

Saki covered her chest with her arms, feeling self-conscious.

Anri noticed.

She let out a soft, teasing laugh.

"I think Master prefers girls with a bigger chest," she said lightly, as if commenting on the weather. "But don't worry. He seems to have a soft spot for cute, shy types too."

Saki's face turned bright red.

"W-what?! That's not— I mean—!"

Anri giggled. A surprisingly cute sound from someone who looked so elegant.

"I'm teasing you, Miss Saki. Forgive me. It's part of my job to know Master's tastes."

She turned off the faucet. The tub was full. Steam rose gently.

"Come. The water is perfect."

Saki stepped into the tub slowly. The hot water felt amazing on her skin. She sank in with a small sigh.

Anri knelt beside the tub, rolled up her sleeves, and began gently washing Saki's back with a soft sponge.

"You've been through a lot, haven't you?" Anri said quietly. "Master brought you here because he was worried. He doesn't usually bring girls home like this."

Saki hugged her knees in the water.

"I feel like such an idiot… I thought I could handle things on my own. But Hayato… he kept pushing me. Making me drink things. Taking me places I didn't want to go…"

Her voice cracked.

Anri continued washing her back in slow, soothing circles.

"Master will take care of it. You don't have to worry about that person anymore."

Saki looked over her shoulder.

"You… you know what he does?"

Anri smiled faintly.

"I know enough. I've been with the Yamada family for years. Master has changed since the hospital. He protects what he cares about now. Sometimes very… thoroughly."

Saki stayed quiet for a moment. Then asked softly,

"Do you… sleep with him?"

Anri didn't even flinch.

"Sometimes," she answered honestly. "When he wants me to. When he needs release. Or comfort. Or just someone who understands him without asking too many questions."

She leaned in a little, voice dropping to a playful whisper.

"He's quite demanding in bed, you know. But very generous afterward."

Saki's face burned again.

Anri laughed softly.

"You'll get used to it. This house has many rules… but very few limits."

She rinsed Saki's back and stood up.

"I'll prepare some clothes for you. Something comfortable. Stay in the bath as long as you like."

Anri headed for the door, then paused.

"By the way," she added with a mischievous smile, "if you ever want advice on how to please Master… you can ask me anytime."

She winked.

Then left the bathroom, closing the door gently behind her.

Saki sank deeper into the water until only her eyes were above the surface.

Her heart was pounding.

And her mind was spinning with way too many new thoughts.

Anri closed the bathroom door with a soft click.

Saki stayed sunk in the hot water, only her eyes and nose above the surface. Steam curled around her face.

Her mind was spinning.

'Personal maid… nightly needs…'

She slowly sat up, water sloshing around her chest.

'She sleeps with him. She basically just admitted it. And she said he's demanding…'

Saki's face burned hotter than the bathwater.

She hugged her knees again.

'Yamada-kun… the same boy who used to share his umbrella with me when it rained… now has a personal maid who takes care of his "nightly needs." And money. So much money.'

She rested her forehead on her knees.

'I feel so small here. Everyone around him is so… confident. Anri is beautiful and elegant. Even his little sister is cute and energetic.'

A quiet, bitter thought slipped in.

'And here I am. The girl who got tricked by Hayato. The girl who changed herself just to be liked. The girl who lied to Yamada's face.'

She submerged herself again until the water covered her head for a few seconds.

When she came back up, she wiped her face.

'But he still came for me. Even after I lied. Even after I changed. He still came.'

That thought made her chest feel warm.

'Maybe… I don't have to figure everything out right now. Maybe I can just… stay here for a while. Let him protect me. Like he used to.'

She stayed in the bath for a long time. Washing her hair. Scrubbing the feeling of last night off her skin. Trying to wash away the shame.

---

Some time later.

Saki stepped out of the bathroom, freshly showered. She wore a simple but expensive white lounge outfit Anri had prepared for her — soft pants and a loose top. Her hair was still slightly damp.

She felt cleaner. Calmer.

There was a soft knock on the bedroom door.

"Come in," she said.

Yamada opened the door. He was still in his casual clothes, hoodie half-zipped.

He looked at her.

"You okay?" he asked.

Saki nodded slowly.

"Yeah… I feel better after the bath. Thank you."

She sat on the edge of the bed. Yamada walked over and leaned against the wall across from her.

They stayed quiet for a moment.

Then Saki spoke.

"Anri… she told me she takes care of your nightly needs."

Yamada didn't look embarrassed.

"She does."

Saki looked down at her hands.

"So… you and her… you sleep together."

"Sometimes," he answered honestly. "She's been with the family a long time. She knows what I need."

Saki let out a shaky breath.

"You've changed a lot since the hospital…"

"I have," he admitted. "But not everything. I'm still the same guy who used to walk you home."

He pushed off the wall and sat down next to her on the bed. Not too close.

"You don't have to worry about any of that right now. Just focus on resting. Healing. Getting your head straight."

Saki looked at him. Her eyes were watery again.

"Yamada-kun… why are you doing all this for me?"

He looked at her. Red eyes steady.

"Because you're important to me. You've always been."

He reached out and gently ruffled her hair, the same way he used to when they were younger.

"You're safe here. That's all that matters right now."

Saki leaned into his touch slightly. Then she nodded.

"Okay…"

Yamada stood up.

"I'll be downstairs if you need me. Anri will check on you too. Rest as much as you want."

He walked to the door, then paused.

"Oh, and Saki?"

She looked up.

"Don't force yourself to smile if you don't feel like it. Not here."

Saki's lips trembled. She gave him a small, genuine smile anyway.

"Thank you."

Yamada nodded once.

Then he left, closing the door softly behind him.

Saki lay back on the bed. Stared at the ceiling.

Her heart felt heavy… but lighter at the same time.

She closed her eyes.

For the first time in weeks, she fell asleep without fear.

Yamada returned to his room and sat down in the large chair behind his desk.

His personal butler, Kuro, entered silently and placed a tablet in front of him. Anri followed shortly after, carrying a tray with fresh tea. She set it down and stood beside Kuro.

Both of them looked at their master.

Yamada picked up the tablet. Turned it on. Started scrolling.

The report was detailed. Names. Dates. Amounts paid. Messages. Everything Hayato and his circle had done to Saki.

Most of them were simple. Scum who paid for pleasure. Boys and men who used her when she was too high or too scared to say no.

Yamada's expression grew darker with every name.

Then he reached one entry.

He stopped scrolling.

His eyes turned ice cold.

He reached up and removed the brown contact lenses from his eyes. They fell onto the desk with two soft clicks.

Crimson red eyes stared at the screen. Sharp. Burning.

Anri's breath caught slightly. She already knew what this meant.

Yamada looked at his butler.

"Kuro. Call my father."

Kuro bowed. "Yes, Master."

He made the call and handed the phone to Yamada.

After two rings, a calm, deep voice answered.

"Son."

Yamada stared at the name on the tablet.

"Father."

A short pause on the other end.

"You sound serious. What happened?"

Yamada's voice was low. Cold.

"Saki. Yoshida Saki. My childhood friend."

He continued.

"Her father… used her. Took photos. Videos. Sold them. Blackmailed her. While she was broken. While she was spiraling."

Silence on the line.

Then his father spoke again. Voice still calm, but colder now.

"I see."

Yamada's grip on the phone tightened.

"I want him gone. Not just disappeared. I want him to suffer first. Slowly. I want him to understand exactly what he did to her."

His father didn't hesitate.

"Consider it done. I'll handle it personally."

Yamada closed his eyes for a second.

"Thank you."

He ended the call.

The room was silent.

Anri stepped forward. Her voice soft but steady.

"Master… will you tell Miss Saki?"

Yamada stared at the tablet for a long moment.

Then he shook his head.

"Not yet. She's already broken enough. I won't add more weight to her right now."

He stood up. Walked to the window. Looked out at the garden.

His crimson eyes reflected in the glass.

"She deserves peace. I'll give her that."

Anri and Kuro bowed slightly.

"Understood."

Yamada stayed at the window.

The quiet laugh that usually came in moments like this didn't appear.

Only cold, heavy silence.

Outside, the sun continued to rise.

But in Yamada's heart, something dark and protective had settled firmly into place.

Saki would never have to face her father again.

Never.

On the other side of the call.

The line went dead.

A man sat behind a large wooden desk in a dimly lit study. He slowly placed the phone down. Fixed his glasses with one finger.

Then he laughed.

A quiet, low chuckle. Almost fond.

"Oh my…"

A beautiful woman walked into the room. Long dark hair. Sharp purple eyes. Elegant dress. She tilted her head at him.

"Why are you laughing?"

Ryouta Asou looked up at his wife, Akari. A small, dangerous smile played on his lips.

"Just our son."

Akari raised an elegant eyebrow.

"What's so funny?"

Ryouta leaned back in his chair. His eyes gleamed with amusement and something much colder.

"He asked me to handle someone. Personally."

He stood up slowly. Walked over to a hidden panel in the wall. Pressed his hand against it. The panel slid open, revealing a locked case.

He ran his fingers across the case.

"No need to bring out the heavy tools this time," he said softly. "But I do have reason to dust some of them off."

Akari walked over and leaned against his side. She looked at the case, then at her husband.

"Saki?" she asked.

Ryouta nodded.

"Her father. Among others. The boy sounded… protective."

Akari's lips curved into a smile that matched her husband's.

"Our son has grown up."

Ryouta opened the case. Inside were various documents, keys, and a few carefully maintained "tools" — things normal people should never see.

He picked up a black folder.

"Tell the clean-up team to prepare. I'll handle the father myself."

Akari kissed his cheek lightly.

"Don't stay up too late, dear."

She turned and left the study, hips swaying elegantly.

Ryouta opened the folder. His smile faded into something colder. Professional.

He began reading.

For a long time, the only sound in the room was the quiet turning of pages.

Outside the window, the city lights glittered.

Somewhere in that city, a man who once called himself Saki's father had no idea what was coming.

And Ryouta Asou intended to make sure he suffered properly.

Just like his son asked.
