Ever since memory began, one question has persisted: why is human life so saturated with conflict? From quarrels over nothing to street brawls, from venomous debates to wars that devour millions, the pattern repeats, endless.
Now, past forty, I begin to discern the machinery behind.
As we grow, we each forge a private lens through which we read reality. In the single mind, it hardens into bias; in religion, it becomes faith; in nations, it crystallizes into ideology. Every conflict on Earth—and beyond—stems from a fundamental disagreement about the nature of reality itself.
And yet, almost no one truly desires bloodshed. Reality simply continues to disappoint.
So how do we break the cycle?
This question drove me to write this science-fiction trilogy, Voyaging.
I offer no final answers, only to hold up a mirror—wider, colder, more honest.
If, when you close the last volume, the lens you carry has shifted even a millimeter, these books have done their work.
And perhaps, together, we will have moved the species one millimeter closer to a future where understanding arrives before the missiles.
