Kito looked at all three of them. Long enough that it started to feel like an exam.
Joren stood up slightly without meaning to.
Silas blinked.
Zara just waited.
Kito nodded once like he'd reached a verdict, turned around, and walked.
"Come," he said.
Nobody moved.
"He said come," Silas said.
"I heard," Zara said.
They went.
Zara walked beside him and looked down at his face and immediately understood why Lady Faelyn always mentioned the cheeks because they were genuinely extraordinary cheeks and her hand moved before her brain caught up.
She pinched one.
Kito stopped.
Looked up at her.
"I'm doing guiding," he said. "Please don' do that when I'm doing guiding."

"Is okay." Walking again. "People do it a lot. My cheeks is very soft. Lady Faelyn says like small clouds." He considered this. "I never touched a cloud. But Lady Faelyn say it ev'ry time so I believe her. She is usually right."
