That night, sleep wouldn't come.
Asli tossed and turned before finally giving up. She stepped into the hallway, only to notice a faint light coming from downstairs.
Curiosity pulled her forward.
She found Ferhat sitting alone, a glass in his hand, staring into nothing.
For once… he looked tired.
Not physically.
Emotionally.
"You drink too?" she said softly.
He didn't look surprised to see her. "Sometimes."
She hesitated, then stepped closer. "Bad memories?"
A long pause.
Then—
"They don't go away."
Something in his tone made her sit down across from him.
"You could try talking about them."
He let out a quiet, humorless breath. "Talking doesn't change the past."
"No," she admitted. "But it can change you."
His eyes lifted to meet hers.
Sharp.
Searching.
"Do you think I want to change?"
Asli held his gaze.
"I think a part of you already has."
For a moment…
He didn't look away.
And that silence said more than words ever could.
