CHAPTER 1
In the heavy rain storm,Lucy been the senior daughter of her family was standing under the rain,her thought drifting to her break up with her boyfriend,their breakup was not even serious but the guy had taken it serious,more like he was tired of being with her,she could still remember his bored expression that day---
"Did you just hug her?"Lucy asked
"Yeah what about it?"he answered
His eyes where showing nothing but boredom ,his lips were thick dark red in colour,his eyebrows were straight and a little curve at the bottom, he has a sharp chiseled jaw ,more like one gotten from an anime character ,his eyes was dark in colour to the extent that if he was looking at you with those eyes of his, it was like he was staring at your biggest secret.
"Are you serious ?,you want to break up with me?"
" What do you even think of me,a coward?"
"If that's how you describe it , pretty sure it was quite an explanation to describe someone like you"he said.
His eyes narrowing to look at her expression from the corner of his eyes .
Tears almost dropped down from her eyes , but she was not going to crumble that easily ,talkless to cry for someone who bearly has heart,she wasn't going to bring down her pride that easily ,as you can see she loves her pride.She sniffled ,
"Ah!,I knew you were nothing but a loser , hopping on girls and changing them like clothes, making them cry and they all feel like they were not worth you, but you see ,I am not one of them,I did rather die than cry for breaking up with someone like you"as she continued bragging ,she stretched one of her hand in tiredness and looked up at his face and said "you are nothing but a burden", after saying that,she dashed off not waiting for the guy to even speak .
Her words felt like daggers piercing right through his very heart,he was stunned and surprised but known of his feelings really matter now because all that was important now was her safety.He just turned and walked away not even sparring her departing figure a second glance,the woman standing beside him who had caused the whole situation , just smiled.

Still in a dase of what had happened, although she had Insulted him that she will not waste her tears on someone like him, but when she got home that day ,she had done nothing but cry,even at the moment ,as she was standing under the rain,tears was still slipping down her cheeks, thank goodness for the rain ,if not , every one would have known that she was crying, well it didn't matter any longer,love has been swept out from her dictionary ,she knew nothing about the meaning of love since the moment her boyfriend broke her heart.Still under the rain, she saw her friends approaching her with a confused expression.
It was totally weird for someone to just stand under the rain doing nothing,the students passing by were all using umbrella to shield themselves,some giving her a weird glance, obviously ,she had no idea why they were staring at her like that, thought Lucy to herself.
When her friends approached her ,they gave her a warm smile.
Laurel been quite observant caught a red stain on Lucy skirt,no wonder every student passing by were giving Lucy a weird glare, Laurel pulled her sweater and tied it around Lucy's waist
"Are you a kid?,you don't even know the time for your flow"Laurel said glancing at her
"What do you mean by that?"Lucy asked when something clicked in her brain
TODAY WAS HER FLOW DAY!!!!!!
Aaaaa!!!!!
"I am so stupid"Lucy murmured turning around to see the blood stain showing broadly like she was advertising her day for her period to everyone.
Advertising?
What a gruesome way to put it "Am thanking the heavens that you finally know how stupid you are"Kate said
After they helped her to tie the sweater around her slender waist, Lucy started sweating out of total embarrassment.
Lucy has three friends, the two twin , Kate and kately ,then Laurel ,as they continued their walk Kate asked
"Are you not talking to Adam any longer?"
What a weird question to ask at a weird time

Ooh- - - she forgot to tell her friends that she had ended her relationship with Adam "we broke up- - -,and don't bring this topic up again ,I won't be happy"
It was finally vacation period for that semester so everyone was expected to go home a week ago,and now with their rolling bag rolling after them which was making an annoying sound,the girls walked home, their compound facing each other, they were nothing but compound neighbors who ended up been friends.
"Finally we are done with this semester"said kately are voice trailing with complete tiredness
"Gosh, like men, am been serious right now , everyday reading ,even skipping a day for reading feels like there are mountains of textbooks waiting for you"said Kate ,the girls were really tired,every semester holiday in their parents house felt like heaven,like they were escaping from hell itself.
Lucy paid no attention to what they were even talking about,she had lost her voice from embarrassment and now every body in the university are going to know how nut are brain really was.
Because of Adam---
That jerk, if she hated him because of the breakup they had,then what kind of hatred will anyone call this?
An upgraded hatred?
After they had said their good bye to each other,they all walked to their respective compound.
At least ,finally, she would have peace of mind , from annoying course mate,room mate and even lecturers but the good part is that she has some free space from reading.
When she pressed the bell button ,it took a while before she saw her mother from the screen. Her mother was looking all sweaty , like there was a time bomb in the house that was about to blow any moment from now

But truly, if only the woman could tell Lucy to run then she would
Lucy heard her mother say "I ---will open the gate in a minute so wait a second" with that , the screen was left blank.
The gate automatically opened and Lucy stepped in, something in her soul is telling her to turn and run but maybe she was the one feeling that way.
Besides,her mother wouldn't act so childish as to prank her,just like that, with that thought in mind she went straight to the main door and knocked .
When the door was opened, what she saw only made her knees weak in terror _ _ _
"A pistle gun--a gun--!"Lucy murmured the thought of shouting for help crossed her mind "someon--Mm"one of the man among the three muscular men who had entered their house covered her mouth with an handkerchief , the man's movement was fast that even Lucy did not know how he had covered such distance to meet her .
Her vision started to blur gradually to be precise she was drugged ,the noise from the room started to fade like distant echoes all she could hear was her father 's voice begging to be spared.
"Please leave I and my family alone , I thought you wanted her, take her and leave , even if you take her we won't utter a single word about what happened , everything will be buried deep in our mind " Mr Josephine,Lucy foster dad began to beg, his cries for a chance of survival for his family sounds pitiful but beneath that pitiful expression lay a heart has strong has stone , those shabby eyes , thick white eyebrows and hair look like a kind old man but instead he cares about his own survival .
Assuming he wasn't the father of his two children lying beside him on the floor ,he would have used them as sacrificial lamb to save himself .
His cries to be spared only irritates the three men
Kevin , who came along with Lucas and Marcus to claim the girl and to carryout the order presented by the higher up not to touch family member could not hold it in any longer
,he was known for his hot temper when dealing with orders so he immediately kicked Mr Josephine chest with rage boiling deep within him
How can this man call himself a father when he was willing to sacrifice his foster daughter for his survival
Assuming Kevin was given the order to touch the family member and torture them,he could have cut this old man's tongue . Kevin's eyes started to budge out with fury.
"You old rag!!!"he skillfully drawed out a dagger from his pant pocket
Marcus seeing this stopped him immediately before anything could happen. If they were to go against order, no one knows what the punishment will be but everyone knew the punishment will be severe.
