"Caelum, please... you have to shift back, you have to let Genevieve examine her, or she's going to die!" Julian begged the savage black beast. "Caelum. You're going to kill her!"
Caelum had sunk too deep into his beast—that's why their voices couldn't reach him.
"Caelum!" Cedric shouted as well. He still held his views about Lyra, believing the woman wasn't right for the king, that it would be better if she disappeared.
Still, he was rational enough to picture what would happen to Caelum if he lost Lyra now. There was a strong possibility they'd never get him back, and he had no desire to kill his own king.
"Caelum! Come back, you're not helping by holding onto her!" Cedric moved beside Julian, attempting to step forward, but the beast growled threateningly, and Julian yanked him back immediately.
"What are you doing? You're going to get yourself killed!"
