Chapter 86 - Chapter 87. Hermione's Wonderful Day

  Chapter 87. Hermione's Wonderful Day

Miss Granger was a little angry.

She wandered around the neighbor's yard for a long time, but the yard was still the same yard, the furnishings were still the same, and there was no sign that anyone had been there.

"Liar!" she muttered under her breath.

It was already the second day of summer vacation, but Lynn still hadn't returned.

After leaving Lynn's house, she still felt angry and kicked a tree in front of the door again.

  "Big liar!"

As if kicking Lynn himself, she kicked the poor little tree a few more times before finally returning to her own house, satisfied.

After she left, Kira's ugly big head peeked out from the second floor of Lynn's house, with a small head with fluffy white hair beside it.

"She seems very angry with Lynn," Umaru said in confusion.

Kira turned her head and glared at her.

"I told you not to steal things from the little master's room. If she finds out, it will cause trouble for her."

Although she had been scolded many times, Umaru still held her head in grievance.

"But, but those snacks are almost expired. It would be such a waste to throw them away if we didn't eat them soon."

"You still can't eat them. It's stealing without the little master's permission!"

"Oh dear! Silly Kira! Bad Kira!"

  …

Hermione didn't know what had happened at the Lynn's house after she left. She returned home, where Mrs. Granger had just prepared lunch.

"Even though you've been accepted into St. Paul's Girls' School, you can't go out and play like crazy now. You ran off early this morning and only just came back."

"Okay." Hermione responded listlessly to Mrs. Granger's scolding.

Mr. Granger was reading the newspaper on the sofa. He could only smile helplessly at the conversation between the mother and daughter.

"Where do you want to go this summer? As a reward, you can decide our travel destination this year."

"I'm open to going anywhere, of course…" She rested her chin on the table, gazing out the window in a daze.

Suddenly, an owl flapping its wings and landing on her windowsill caught her attention.

The owl gently pecked at the glass with its sharp beak, attracting the attention of the Grangers as well.

"What's this?" Mr. Granger frowned and walked to the window.

Hermione was a little nervous; she thought it was a letter from Lynn, but she didn't know how to tell her parents.

After all, sending a letter by owl was quite unusual.

Just as she was pondering this, Mr. Granger had already opened the window and received a thick stack of envelopes from the owl.

"A letter delivered by an owl?" he exclaimed in surprise.

Hermione ran to his side, tiptoeing to peek at the envelopes.

  "Is it for me?"

The top envelope contained an acceptance letter.

"Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry," Mr. Granger read the school's name.

"Witchcraft and Wizardry?" he said, raising his voice.

Hermione's face paled as she listened to the letter he read aloud, clearly not from Lynn.

  She recalled Lynn's words:

'They are an evil organization that specifically targets people with superpowers like you and me, then coerces and entices them to work for them.'

'Hermione, I will do my best to conceal your existence within the organization, allowing you to continue living this peaceful and happy life.'

Now the time has come, Lynn hasn't returned, and this evil organization has disguised itself as a magic academy to send her an acceptance letter!

This made Hermione wonder what Lynn was going through, and what she would face next.

At this moment, Mr. Granger pulled out the next letter, which he read:

'Potentials Professor Severus Snape will be visiting at 4 PM on July 3rd.'

  "Dad!" Hermione suddenly screamed.

  "Let's go to Grandma's today!"

Mr. Granger comforted Hermione, who seemed frightened.

"Don't be afraid, he's just a conman. We'll wait for him at home and see if this self-proclaimed professor of magic dares to come this afternoon."

Hermione didn't know how to persuade her father. Magic was too bizarre, and her own superpowers were unreliable, making it impossible to prove anything to her parents.

The Granger family ate lunch listlessly and then stayed home quietly, waiting.

Mr. Granger even found a baseball bat he used in his youth in the storage room to use as a deterrent.

At four o'clock in the afternoon,

the Granger doorbell rang precisely on time. Mr. Granger told his daughter and wife,

"You two stay still, I'll go see."

He opened the living room door, revealing only a crack.

Standing outside was a middle-aged man in a black robe, pale-faced and with greasy hair.

Hmm, it was obvious he didn't have a wife.

Snape wasn't surprised to see the cautious Mr. Granger; many Muggle families had parents like that, mostly acting this way before encountering real magic.

"Hello, I'm Severus Snape, Professor of Potions at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry..."

  "Bang!"

  Snape: "..."

Okay, he was wrong. He'd never been treated so rudely before.

Snape took a deep breath and knocked on the door again, his face dark.

This time, no one opened the door; only Mr. Granger's threatening voice came from inside.

"I'm warning you! We won't believe a liar like you. If you keep bothering us, I'll call the police!"

His love for his daughter was understandable; he was just more cautious than most families.

  Snape reassured himself.

He stopped knocking, used a lock-picking charm, and pushed the door open.

The Granger family's expressions changed upon seeing him. Mr. Granger raised his baseball bat, shielding his daughter and wife.

"Who let you in! This is trespassing! I have the right to attack you!"

Snape waved his wand helplessly, turning the baseball bat in Mr. Granger's hand into a balloon.

  "Now you believe me, right?"

Mr. and Mrs. Granger stared in disbelief at the balloon that had been a baseball bat just a second ago.

Their gazes towards Snape began to shift with suspicion, after all, the facts were right before their eyes.

  Just then, Hermione suddenly shouted,

"Liar! You're not a magic school at all, but an evil organization that captures children with superpowers!"

Snape looked at Hermione in shock.

  "Who told you that?"

Hermione wiped away her tears and questioned loudly.

"What did you do to Lynn? Why didn't he come back! Did you think he was useless, so you killed him?!"

Snape's face was as black as the bottom of a pot.

He knew who was behind this.
