Chapter 100 - Chapter 101. Sealing Spirits and Imprisoning Souls

Chapter 101. Sealing Spirits and Imprisoning Souls

  Early in the morning,

the little girl ran over to Lynn to recount her experience from the previous night.

"...They were completely fooled! If Filch had caught them, Professor McGonagall would definitely have expelled them!"

Lynn brought her a bowl of pumpkin juice to help her catch her breath.

  "Glug glug glug..."

Hermione gulped it down heartily, partly because she had indeed been talking all morning and was genuinely thirsty.

"Don't worry," Lynn reassured her, "Even if you had been caught by Filch, Professor McGonagall would at most have given you a severe Gryffindor deduction, not expulsion."

"That won't do!" Hermione exclaimed angrily.

  "They were really awful!"

  "I know, I know,"

Lynn said, as if soothing a ruffled cat.

"Then we'll just ignore them from now on. There are plenty of Gryffindor students; it doesn't matter who you befriend,"

  Hermione muttered.

"But they're so naughty, always jumping around like little monkeys, causing Gryffindor to lose points. I don't want Slytherin to win the House Cup this year while I'm in Gryffindor."

  Lynn shrugged.

"Then why did you tell me this? We're competitors now. Professor McGonagall and I get along quite well. Aren't you afraid I'll go and complain to her?"

The girl said confidently, head held high.

"Of course not! If Harry and the others were like you, I wouldn't have to worry about these things every day."

Lynn ruffled her hair and shooed her away.

"I think she's acting a little strange towards you?" Cedric suddenly said.

Lynn looked at him: "What's wrong with her?"

"Like…like how Monnie acted towards Kurot." He scratched his head.

  Lynn squinted at him.

"What are you thinking? Our relationship is just like that of siblings next door. How is it like how Monnie acted towards Kurot?"

Monnie is the current Hufflepuff prefect. She had a crush on the current Ravenclaw prefect for two years, and finally mustered the courage to confess this year, and they got together.

  Cedric didn't argue with Lynn.

So he was talking about a crush, right? You, who rejected a senior's confession so awkwardly, how could you understand a young girl's crush?

Lynn's first class today was Professor Quirrell's Defense Against the Dark Arts.

This year's Defense Against the Dark Arts class was truly terrible. The professor on the podium, who had already sided with Voldemort, acted like a clown. Every day, he just stammered through the textbook and kept explaining that the large scarf on his head was a gift from an African prince to thank him for helping him get rid of a resurrected zombie.

He was a joke, completely lacking the demeanor of an elite Ravenclaw graduate.

Fortunately, Lynn was prepared. He hadn't expected to learn anything in this year's Defense Against the Dark Arts class anyway.

So later on, he even stopped attending.

He was very busy this semester and didn't have the time to waste with Quirrell in the classroom.

At this moment, Lynn was searching the castle for a ghost—Peeves.

  "Have you seen Peeves, sir?"

he asked the murals on the castle walls. The figures in these murals could move freely between any frame in Hogwarts; they were the most intelligent beings in Hogwarts, and also Headmaster Dumbledore's spies.

The knight in the painting, hearing Lynn's question, seemed furious, brandishing his lance.

"I don't know! How could I care where that scoundrel is! Yesterday he tried to draw a turtle on my armor with his ink brush! Luckily, Bloody Barrow passed by and scared him away, otherwise a valiant knight would have been dishonored!"

Lynn had no choice but to ask the other murals one by one.

Finally, an old witch with a hooked nose told Lynn where Peeves was.

"It's in the hallway near the kitchen entrance. It stole a basket of rotten eggs from a house-elf, planning to use them to attack the students when they get out of school. If you're going to look for it, you'd better change your clothes, because it's really wicked."

"Thank you for reminding me, Grandma."

After getting Peeves' location, Lynn rushed to the hallway near the kitchen entrance. Sure enough,

Peeves was hiding behind a corner, carrying a basket of rotten eggs, preparing to attack the Hufflepuff wizards who were going back to their common room after school.

It spotted Lynn first and immediately threw a rotten egg at him excitedly.

"Look what I found! A truant Slytherin wizard! You skipped class to taste rotten eggs?"

Lynn tilted his head slightly and dodged the rotten egg. He smiled and slowly drew his wand, not forgetting to greet Peeves.

  "Hello, Peeves."

Peeves wasn't afraid at all when he took out his wand and even made a face at Lynn. It was a ghost, and the little wizard's magic couldn't harm it.

Just as Peeves reached for the next rotten egg, Lynn raised his wand.

  "Goodbye, Peeves."

  "Spellbound."

  ...

  Harry and Ron overslept today.

Last night, they had outwitted Filch in the castle and been frightened by the three-headed dog on the fourth floor, so they didn't get up until ten o'clock this morning.

Breakfast time was long past, so they went to the kitchen to find something to eat.

"Seriously, Hermione is really annoying. She cares too much about school rules and grades, and she loves to nag. She's not our mother, yet she tries to control us all the time. No wonder nobody wants to play with her,"

  Ron complained, yawning.

Harry thought for a moment and then said,

"It's not that nobody wants to listen to her nagging. I saw her with a little wizard from Hogwarts in Diagon Alley before, and they seemed to have a very good relationship."

  Ron's eyes widened in disbelief.

"He's quite the warrior! Who is he? From our house?"

  Harry shook his head.

"No, I remember he said he was a Slytherin student, a second-year student, his name was Lynn Belloc, and Hagrid said he was the best young wizard in his year."

  Ron, however, was unimpressed.

"So what if he's the best? All Slytherin wizards are bad guys like Malfoy."

As they were talking, they suddenly heard a noise coming from around the corner of the corridor.

They peeked over the wall and saw Peeves throwing rotten eggs at a young wizard.

"Hey! That's him, he's the Lynn I was talking about." Harry recognized the young wizard.

  Ron looked on expectantly.

"Let's see how Peeves will mess with this best young wizard in his year."

But what happened next left them stunned.

  "Spellcaster!"

The bad guy from Slytherin raised his wand and cast a spell they had never seen before on Peeves.

Peeves was instantly turned into a ball!

The little wizard named Lynn picked up the ball and, like kneading clay, sculpted the ball-sized Peeves into a small ball the size of a ping-pong ball.

Peeves, whimpering weakly, was stuffed into a small glass bottle!

To answer some of your questions, I didn't intend to follow the original story. Don't you guys read the book titles at the beginning of each volume? I've already made it so obvious that I was afraid you wouldn't understand and would get angry and abandon me.
