Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Becoming a Ninja Wolf

Half an hour later.

The trees before him gradually thinned, and the light grew brighter.

Stepping out of the final thicket of bushes, a valley came into view.

It was a depression surrounded by steep mountain walls on three sides, with a narrow mouth and stone walls on both sides as sharp as if carved by a knife, covered in dark green moss and winding vines.

The valley opened up suddenly, with a gentle slope extending inward from the entrance, covered in sparse weeds and low shrubs.

At the bottom of the slope was a small pool, with several large stones scattered by its edge.

And opposite that was a massive stone wall, beneath which lay a large natural stone cave, deep and dark.

"Awoo (I'm back!)—"

Great Remnant took a step forward and let out a loud howl toward the valley.

Within the dark stone cave, pairs of eerie green eyes lit up.

Then, one by one, lean gray wolves walked out, followed by a few cautious wolf cubs.

Seeing this, Yang Jiu's eyes lit up.

The large ones were all she-wolves, eight in total, and there were only four small ones, making twelve in total.

"Twelve wolves can grant me 600 experience and points; the future is not just a dream!"

Led by Great Remnant, he walked into the valley and came before the group of she-wolves and cubs.

Wolf Kings Pressure automatically took effect, pinning them all to the ground.

"Whimper, whimper~"

The she-wolves whimpered at Great Remnant in fear.

"This is the Patriarch, our boss, our King!"

Great Remnant hurriedly spoke to the she-wolves nervously.

Four of these she-wolves belonged to him; nothing could happen to them.

"Patriarch!!!"

Upon learning this, the she-wolves surrendered one after another and called out to Yang Jiu.

The little wolf cubs also surrendered immediately.

A smile instantly appeared on Yang Jiu's face, and system notification tones rang out continuously in his mind.

"You are all members of my Wolf Clan from now on. Stand up!"

He took the initiative to withdraw Wolf Kings Pressure.

The she-wolves stood up tremblingly, but they still kept their heads down, not daring to look him in the eye.

Yang Jiu didn't mind. With a thought, he opened the system mission interface.

[Strengthen the Wolf Clan — For every additional member of the Wolf Clan, you will receive a reward]

[mission rewards obtained: 600 experience, 600 points, 12 portions of Chakra (stored in the warehouse)]

[City of the Wolf Clan — Possess your own territory (Completed)]

[mission rewards obtained: 100 experience, 100 points, Building - wolf den, Building - life spring eye (stored in the warehouse)]

"Simple and easy, the system is giving out benefits!"

The corners of Yang Jiu's mouth curled up.

Then he opened the warehouse and looked at the three items inside.

[Chakra * 12: Each portion of Chakra is equivalent to the Chakra volume of an ordinary Genin Ninja]

[Building - wolf den: Once placed, cultivation speed and recovery speed within the wolf den will be increased]

[Building - life spring eye: Once placed, the life spring eye can continuously produce spring water. Drinking life spring water can restore physical strength and slightly improve constitution]

"Eh—one portion of Chakra is equivalent to an ordinary Genin's Chakra volume?"

Yang Jiu was stunned.

He stared at the line of text on the system panel and read it three times.

"Doesn't that make me a Chakra tycoon all of a sudden!!!"

His wolf mouth grinned from ear to ear, his eyes filled with the light of pleasant surprise.

This system is way too generous, isn't it?

Unlike those stingy systems in other novels that give a bit of Chakra and expect the host to refine it themselves. This is great; it's a one-step process, comparable to a Genin!

How wonderful.

He calmed his emotions and looked at the other two rewards—life spring eye and wolf den.

One is a resource, and the other is a base.

They are both foundations for developing the clan.

Yang Jiu licked his lips and had a thought.

Hum—

Two balls of light emerged from the void, floating quietly before him.

He first walked toward that three-meter-square small pool.

The pool water was shallow, just reaching the wolf's legs.

Yang Jiu raised his front paw and gently tapped the center of the pool.

The life spring eye turned into a streak of emerald-green light and sank into the bottom of the pool.

In an instant, the entire pool trembled slightly, and visible ripples spread outward from the center.

The originally clear pool water seemed to be infused with some kind of vitality, faintly glowing with a layer of pale translucent green light.

"If it's diluted, so be it."

Yang Jiu squinted at the pool.

When life spring water merges with ordinary pool water, the effect will definitely be diminished.

But over time, this pool water will gradually be assimilated, and one day it will completely turn into real life spring water.

No rush.

He turned and walked thirty meters to the right of the stone grotto.

There were several ancient trees there, their canopies like umbrellas, casting a patch of shade.

Between the trees was a flat clearing.

Yang Jiu raised his front paw and tapped again.

The wolf den turned into a streak of earthy-yellow light and landed on that clearing.

Boom—

The light exploded.

A twenty-meter-square stone building appeared out of thin air before his eyes.

It was a small stone mountain, yet it was shaped into the form of a giant wolf.

The giant wolf sat on the ground, howling at the sky; its wide-open maw was the entrance to the wolf den, with interlocking canine teeth forming a natural archway, the deep mouth extending inward with no end in sight.

Yang Jiu stepped inside.

The light dimmed at the entrance, and after walking a few steps, the view opened up.

The interior of the wolf den was even more spacious than it appeared from the outside.

The dome was five or six meters high, the stone walls were smooth and flat, the floor was covered with a layer of dry hay, and a few polished boulders were piled in the corners.

At the deepest part was a naturally formed stone platform.

It was shaped like a throne, leaning against the stone wall and rising high, with a thick layer of gray-and-white fur spread across it, soft and fluffy.

Yang Jiu's eyes lit up.

He leaped onto the stone platform in a few steps, circled twice on the fur, and lay down in a comfortable position.

It was soft, dry, and carried a faint fragrance of plants.

"This is the life a wolf should lead."

Yang Jiu sighed with emotion.

Although there were no cell phones, this kind of life seemed pretty good for now.

Especially getting stronger so rapidly.

This feeling can only be understood by those who have experienced it.

After lying there for a while, Yang Jiu sat up and took out the 12 portions of Chakra.

Use directly.

Buzz!

The 12 portions of Chakra entered his body.

Instantly, he felt a swelling and warmth in a certain spot, which was very comfortable.

At the same time, the traces of Chakra flowing through his meridians were making his body slowly stronger.

"Woo~"

Yang Jiu let out a comfortable low whine.

Then, he opened the Wolf Attribute Panel.

Name: Yang Jiu

Race: Ninja Beast - Gray Wolf

Strength: Genin

Talents: Wolf Kings Pressure, Wind Body

Ninjutsu: Chakra Refining Technique, Storm Blade

"The ordinary gray wolf has become a Ninja Beast gray wolf, not bad, not bad."

"And my strength has reached Genin level; I suspect it's not just an ordinary Genin."

Yang Jiu nodded with satisfaction; it made all his running around today worth it.

Gurgle gurgle~

At this moment, his stomach rumbled like thunder, and a wave of hunger surged in his heart.
