Chapter 32 - Say It Clearly

The classroom fell silent. The moment Liam stepped inside. Everything changed. Mandy stood in front of him.

Mark just a few steps away. No one moved. No one spoke. Until. "…You really stayed," Liam said quietly.

"…I told you I would." Her voice didn't shake this time. Not like before. Liam let out a small breath.

"…You're serious about this."

"…I am." The air felt heavier than ever. Because this time. There was no running away. No avoiding.

Just truth. "…What do you want to say?" Liam asked. Mandy clenched her hand slightly.

Then stepped closer. "…I want to understand my feelings." Liam frowned slightly. "…You already said that."

"…But I wasn't clear." Her eyes met his directly. "…So I'll say it properly this time." Mark watched from the side.

His expression tight. Unmoving. Mandy took a deep breath. "…When you stopped talking to me…"

Her voice softened. "…It felt wrong." "…And I didn't know why." Liam stayed silent. Listening. "…But now I think I understand a little." She placed her hand lightly over her chest.

"…I miss you." The words were simple. But real. And heavy. Liam's eyes widened slightly.

"…Mandy—" "…Not just as a classmate," she continued. "…Not just as someone who helps me."

Her voice trembled. But she didn't stop. "…I miss you." Silence filled the room.

The kind of silence that made everything feel louder. "…That's still not clear," Liam said quietly.

Mandy froze slightly. "…What?" "…What do you mean by that?"

His voice wasn't harsh. But it was firm. "…Are you saying you like me?" The question hung heavily in the air.

Mark's expression tightened instantly. Mandy's heart pounded.

"…I…" For a moment. She hesitated. Because this was the line. The point where everything would change.

"…I don't know yet." The answer came out softly. Honest. Painfully honest.

Liam looked away slightly. "…Then why are you here?" The question wasn't angry.

Just… tired. "…Because I want to find out," Mandy replied. "…And I don't want to lose the chance to."

Silence. "…That's selfish," Liam said. "…I know."

"…You want me to stay while you figure it out?" "…No." Mandy shook her head. "…I just don't want you to disappear from my life while I do."

Those words. Hit deeper than anything else. Liam's hand tightened slightly. "…You didn't say anything before," he said quietly.

"…I didn't understand it before," Mandy replied. "…That doesn't change what happened."

"…I know." Her voice softened again. "…And I'm not asking you to go back."

Liam paused. "…Then what are you asking for?" Mandy looked at him directly.

"…A chance." Silence. "…Just a chance to understand what this is."

Her hand pressed lightly against her chest again. "…Because it's not something small." "…And I don't want to pretend it is."

Mark clenched his hand at his side. But he didn't interrupt. Didn't step in. Because he knew.

This moment didn't belong to him. Liam closed his eyes for a second. Then opened them again. "…You're asking for something I don't know how to give."

Mandy's chest tightened. "…I'm not asking you to give anything." "…Then what?"

"…Just don't shut me out completely." The words were quiet. But desperate.

Honest. Silence stretched again. Long. Heavy. Uncertain.

Finally. Liam let out a slow breath. "…I can't promise anything." Mandy nodded.

"…I'm not asking for a promise." "…And I won't go back to how things were."

"…I understand." "…And I'm not going to wait for you." That one.

Hurt. But Mandy still nodded. "…That's okay." Liam looked at her for a few seconds.

Then. "…But I won't ignore you." Silence. Mandy's eyes widened slightly.

"…What?" "…That's all I can do." His voice was calm.

Honest. "…If you want to understand your feelings. Then do it."

He paused. "…But don't expect me to stay the same." Mandy nodded slowly. "…I won't."

For the first time. The tension between them shifted. Not gone.

Not resolved. But… different. More real. "…That's enough for now," Liam said quietly.

Then turned slightly.

"…Let's go." He walked past her. This time.

Not avoiding. Not cold. Just… moving forward. Mandy stood still.

Her chest still tight. But lighter than before. "…That's enough…" She whispered softly.

Because for the first time. She didn't feel like she was chasing something invisible anymore.

Mark stepped forward slightly. "…So that's your answer," he said quietly. Mandy looked at him.

"…It's my start." Mark didn't respond. But his eyes said everything. Because now.

Things weren't just uncertain. They were changing. For all of them.
