Chapter 60 - Chapter 60 : The First Attempt at Control

Morning came quietly.

Not with urgency.

Not with weight.

For once, Aditya woke before the world demanded anything from him.

He sat at the edge of the training grounds.

Not moving.

Not preparing.

Just feeling.

The air.

The ground.

The space around him.

"…you're doing nothing."

Mira's voice came from behind him.

"…I'm trying to understand."

She walked up beside him.

"That doesn't look like understanding."

"…it's where it starts."

She crossed her arms.

"…by sitting?"

"…by not forcing it."

A small pause.

"…that's new."

He didn't respond.

Because it was.

Before, everything had been force.

Instinct.

Reaction.

Now, there was space to think.

To choose.

"…show me," Mira said.

Aditya stood slowly.

"…what exactly?"

"…what you can do."

A pause.

"…but without breaking anything."

He almost smiled.

"…that might be harder."

She smirked.

"Good."

He stepped forward.

Raised his hand slightly.

No surge.

No explosion.

Just focus.

The air in front of him shifted.

Not violently.

Gently.

Like something aligning.

Mira watched carefully.

"…that's it?"

"…no."

The space tightened.

Not collapsing.

Responding.

Then it stopped.

Aditya's hand lowered slightly.

The air returned to normal.

"…you stopped."

"…because I lost control."

She frowned.

"That didn't look out of control."

"…that's the problem."

He looked at his hand.

"…I don't feel where the limit is."

A pause.

"…it's either nothing…"

"…or too much."

Mira stepped closer.

"…then find the middle."

He exhaled.

"…that's what I'm trying to do."

She didn't move away.

"…then try again."

This time, he closed his eyes.

Not to block the world, but to feel it more clearly.

The ground beneath him.

The air around him.

Everything.

And then, he moved.

A small motion.

Barely noticeable.

The space in front of him bent again.

But this time, it held.

Didn't collapse.

Didn't disappear.

It stayed.

Mira's eyes narrowed slightly.

"…that's different."

"…yeah."

Aditya's voice was quieter now.

Focused.

"…this is control."

The space shifted again, slightly, responding to him.

Not resisting.

Not overwhelming.

Just listening.

Then a flicker.

A crack.

And suddenly, the world changed.

The training ground vanished.

The sky turned bright, too bright.

The heat returned.

Dust rose into the air.

The battlefield.

Clear.

Louder than before.

And this time, he stood in it.

Not watching.

Inside it.

His breath caught.

The weight returned.

The presence stronger.

Closer.

And then, her again.

Standing in front of him.

Not a blur.

Not distant.

Clear.

Eyes filled with something he couldn't escape.

"…you came back."

Her voice was real.

Not an echo.

Not a memory.

Real.

Aditya's hand moved slightly.

"…who are you…"

The words barely formed.

But something inside him already knew.

Then, the world shattered again.

The training ground returned.

The air snapped back into place.

Aditya staggered slightly.

Mira caught his arm immediately.

"…hey."

Her voice grounded him.

"…you disappeared for a second."

He steadied himself.

Breathing uneven.

"…I saw her again."

Mira didn't let go.

"…clear?"

He nodded slowly.

"…clearer."

A pause.

"…she spoke."

Mira's grip tightened slightly.

"…what did she say?"

Aditya looked ahead.

"…you came back."

Silence.

The words lingered.

Not just as memory.

As something deeper.

Mira looked at him carefully.

"…then she's not just a memory."

He didn't respond.

Because he felt it too.

That connection.

That pull.

Stronger now.

Not distant anymore.

Close.

Too close.

Mira slowly let go of his arm.

"…this is what I meant."

Her voice was quieter now.

"…you're starting to go somewhere else."

Aditya didn't deny it.

"…but I'm still here."

She met his gaze.

"…then stay."

A pause.

"…even when that happens."

He nodded once.

"…I will."

This time, he meant it.

Because now, he understood something.

This wasn't just about control.

It wasn't just about power.

It was about balance.

Between what he was becoming and what he still was.
