Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

Freya's pov

My jaw clenched and my eyes narrowed at him.

"I don't belong to you and you can not keep here against my will!" I snarled, shoving his hands away from me and putting some distance between us.

He smirked, trudging closer to me with a predatory gaze.

I swallowed and instinctively took a few steps backward, my back hitting the cupboard.

His smirk widened, he placed both his hands on either side of my head, caging me.

My heart hammered when he leaned in closer, his breath fanning my face.

"Sweetheart, you're mine, you're stuck with me for eternity whether you like it or not. Fighting me on this is futile, you're wasting your time, just accept the fact that you're mine now!"

"Meeting you was the biggest mistake of my life. I was a damn fool to trust you!"

Hurt flashed across his eyes but he quickly regained his composure.

He chuckled, his gaze darkening. "No sweetheart, meeting me was the best thing that could ever happen to you."

"You're insane to think I could be with someone as crazy as you are!" I snarled, driving the knife into his abdomen.

Terror coursed through me. What did I just do. This isn't me, I'm not someone that would inflict pain onto another human but this isn't a human we're talking about, this is a monster and he deserved to die but still.

God why am I feeling sympathy toward him, when he doesn't even deserve it.

I staggered backward, watching him slump on the floor, his eyes shut, a groan escaped him as he easily yanked the knife out of his body and blood began sputtering everywhere, making me feel nauseous.

I should've known a knife wouldn't do any harm to a monster like him.

I need something else which can knock him out for a few seconds, giving me a chance to escape

His hardened gaze landed on me. He casually rose to his feet as if I hadn't just plunged a knife into him.

My heart pounded like a wild drum, every cell in my body screaming in terror and that I should run as fast as I can but I couldn't move my legs.

"That wasn't necessary." He growled, discarding the knife on the floor.

"There's no need for you to be afraid of me Freya." He said as he slowly moved toward me.

"I would never lay a finger on you or hurt you in any other way because you're way to precious to me."

As if I believe his meaningless words.

He's a ruthless beast that can't be trusted.

"Please, just let me go." I pleaded. Tears blurring my vision.

"I can't!" He growled, flinging the table against the wall as if it weighed nothing to him.

"I don't understand what is that you want from me?" I croaked.

He let out a long sigh, he was now standing closer to me. "Please don't cry, I promise, I'll explain everything to you once you've calmed down." He said, his voice soft and low.

Suddenly the door burst open and the guy who was at the bar with Ethan last night rushed in, looking panicked.

"Alpha, the boarders have been breached."

"Fuck!" Ethan muttered, clenching his fist.

"I'll be out in a moment." He barked.

The man nodded and quickly stepped outside shutting the door.

"Freya I know you don't trust me but right now you will have to do as I say, it's for your own safety. Do not step out of this cabin until I return."

Great. He's leaving It's the perfect opportunity for me to get away.

I nodded. "Yeah I won't." I lied.

I froze when he cupped my face.

"You have no idea how important you are to me Freya. I can't lose you when I just found you."

My heart fluttered hearing those words.

He placed a kiss on my forehead, shivers ran down my body when his lips connected with my forehead. It felt good that I wanted more.

No. What the hell am I thinking. He's inhuman, a beast. I shouldn't be fooled by this facade of his.

I pulled back, narrowing my eyes at him.

He sighed. "I know you hate me and think I'm some kind of monster....Freya I would never hurt you." He said giving me one last lingering glance before he dashed outside.

This might be my only and last opportunity to get out of here before he returns. I rushed upstairs to get my stuff.

Once I gathered up my stuff, I stepped outside, my eyes darting around the woods. Seems like everyone had left.

With hurried steps I approached my car and got inside, locking the door.

"Luna are you going somewhere?" I heard someone ask and I gasped dropping the keys as I saw Andrew walking toward my car.

My heart pounded in my chest, my hands shaking uncontrollably as I realize I'm not alone out here.

Ethan wasn't stupid to leave me here alone. He knew I'd try to runaway so he kept someone to keep an eye on me.

"Luna you can't leave, it isn't

safe for you to be out here." He said, his eyes scanning the forest.

"Do not tell me what to do!" I gritted out as I fumbled to put the keys into the ignition.

"Luna, please just listen to me and get back inside the cabin now." He pleaded.

"No I'm not. You people aren't human, you're beasts, monsters or whatever the hell you'll are!" I yelled and soon after the engine turned on and I hit the gas.

"Luna wait!" He shouted., running behind the car.
