Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: The Hem of a Garment

The last golden-red sliver of the setting sun sank below the horizon, and the forest clearing was quickly enveloped by the gentle indigo twilight.

The sound of the stream was exceptionally clear in the silence. The bonfire was relit, and the flickering flames cast warm, dancing shadows on the two young faces.

The aftertaste of dinner still lingered on the tongue. It was another delicious meal masterfully prepared by Seraphilia using the remaining ingredients from the afternoon—a rich soup made by adding fresh shellfish and wild vegetables to the leftover stew from noon, incomparably savory; thin pancakes, pan-fried golden brown on both sides, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, wrapped around stir-fried shredded vegetables, offering a complex texture; and a sweet and sour jam, simply simmered from wild island fruits, which served as the perfect condiment.

Robin ate with deep satisfaction. Her beautiful Violet eyes appeared particularly warm under the firelight, like gems washed clean by spring water.

After tidying up the simple tableware, the two sat side-by-side on the ground covered with thick blankets, leaning against a rock warmed slightly by the bonfire.

The chill of the night was dispelled by the firelight and the warmth radiating from their closeness, bringing a sense of secluded tranquility.

Little White also seemed to be 'full' after absorbing some of the heat and aroma steaming from the food. It shrank to the size of a pillow, spreading out into a soft, fluffy 'cloud cushion' beside Robin's leg, displaying a lazy and content kaomoji on its screen: ( ̄ o ̄). z Z Full~

"Are you tired?" Seraphilia turned her head to look at Robin.

A day of relaxation and emotional ups and downs—from the shock and emotion of receiving the sub-card to the current peace—could indeed make one feel weary.

Robin shook her head, her Violet eyes sparkling under the firelight, carrying a trace of barely perceptible expectation unique to a child. She didn't speak, merely glanced quietly at Seraphilia's fair and slender hands, her gaze hiding a small request she dared not voice.

Seraphilia immediately understood, and a knowing smile flashed in her ice-blue eyes. She said nothing, only raised her hand, palm facing up.

There was no earth-shattering display of power, only an extremely subtle, milky-white halo flowing around her fingertips, almost merging with the night.

Immediately, a small, fluffy, soft ball of Cloud Mist condensed and took shape above her palm.

The first to appear was a round little cloud pig with drooping ears. It even simulated a pink snout and little grunting sounds. It clumsily circled once in Seraphilia's palm, then 'poofed' down, landing on the blanket in front of Robin, wobbling with a bouncy, Q-elastic motion.

Robin's lips immediately curved up, her eyes filled with pure curiosity and joy. The feeling was novel, like seeing a toy through a shop window in childhood that she could never own, now created exclusively for her in a more dreamy, gentler way.

Next, a lithe cloud fox with a fluffy tail leaped out gracefully. It elegantly flicked its tail, trotted once around the bonfire, and finally squatted next to the little cloud pig, tilting its head and looking at Robin with eyes seemingly filled with a smile, condensed from Cloud Mist.

Then came a cloud lark fluttering its wings, looking exactly like the little skylark beside Robin. It chirped as it flew a few circles before landing on Seraphilia's shoulder; a clumsy-looking, slow-crawling cloud tortoise; a hopping cloud rabbit with long ears swinging back and forth...
