For the next two hours, Moon became a nightmare for the monsters in Zone 1.
He hunted everything. Giant rats, poisonous spiders, and angry goblins. Every kill made him faster. Every kill made him hit harder. His body felt like it was humming with endless energy.
Normal players got tired after fighting one or two monsters. They had to sit down and rest. But Moon's [Grim Reaper] talent gave him stamina every time he made a kill. He was an unstoppable machine.
As he walked deeper into the city, he felt the air get very hot.
He peeked around a broken wall. In the middle of a street, a new kind of monster was roaring. It looked like a big bear, but its fur was made of dark rocks and bright orange fire.
[Ember Bear (Level 8)]
Moon's eyes lit up. So far, he only had physical skills. He wanted magic. He wanted to see if his [Classless] talent could really steal anything.
He picked up a small rock and threw it at the bear. Ping!
The Ember Bear turned around. It roared angrily, opened its jaws, and shot a giant ball of fire right at Moon!
Most players would panic. Moon just watched the fireball carefully. He didn't blink. He used his super speed to step to the side at the very last second. The fireball missed him and blew up a car behind him.
BOOM!
The hot air washed over Moon's face. In his mind, the red System box appeared.
[Classless Activated: Comprehending magical energy flow...]
[Skill Learned: Fireball (Level 1)]
Moon smiled under his black scarf. It actually worked. He wasn't an Elementalist like Lina, but he could use their magic anyway!
"Let's try something fun," Moon whispered.
He held up his fist. He thought about his Savage Blow punch, and he thought about the new Fireball magic. What if he put them together?
[Classless Activated: Merging Skills...]
[New Skill Created: Flaming Fist (Level 1)]
Suddenly, Moon's right hand burst into bright, roaring fire! It didn't burn him; it felt warm and powerful. The Ember Bear looked confused. It roared and charged at Moon, ready to bite him.
Moon ran forward too. He pulled back his fiery fist and punched the giant bear right in the chest.
KA-BOOM!
The explosion was huge. Fire blasted everywhere. The Level 8 monster was sent flying backward, completely defeated before it even hit the ground. Red particles swarmed into Moon, making his fire burn even brighter.
[Grim Reaper Activated: Stats Increased by 5x! Gained 40 Life Points!]
Moon opened his System menu. He looked at his "Life Points" total. Normal players had 10 or 20 points right now.
[Total Life Points: 650]
He was already richer and stronger than almost everyone in Zone 1. He looked toward the center of the Sanctuary. That was where the big, fancy Guild camps were. That was where Alex and Lina were probably showing off their powers.
Moon squeezed his fiery fist, putting the fire out.
"Wait for me," Moon said to the dark sky. "The Grim Reaper is just getting started."
