Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Rain, Memory, and a Promise

The Villainess Is Change and Innocent Cute Husband

Chapter 1: Rain, Memory, and a Promise

The rain fell in sheets, cold and unforgiving, slamming against the pavement like a thousand tiny fists. Ophelia Gold Wind stood in the middle of the empty road, her expensive silk dress soaked through, clinging to her skin like a second skin. Her hair, usually styled to perfection in soft waves, was matted and messy, dripping water onto her face. She didn't care. She couldn't feel the cold, couldn't feel the rain. All she could feel was the throbbing pain in her head, and the flood of memories that came with it.

It had happened just hours ago. The grand hall of her family's mansion, filled with people she had known her whole life—family, friends, acquaintances. And then Maria, her stepsister, had stepped forward, her voice soft and trembling, holding out a stack of papers. "Ophelia... I didn't want to do this, but I can't let you hurt anyone else anymore."

The words had been like a knife to Ophelia's heart. The papers were proof—proof of the things she had done. The times she had tripped Maria in the hallway, the times she had spread rumors about her, the times she had tried to sabotage her relationships with the boys at school. And then, one by one, the boys had spoken up. Danny Viles, with his red hair and broad shoulders, his voice loud and angry: "You were always mean to her, Ophelia! I can't believe I ever thought you were cool!" Caleb Silver Wind, her ex-fiancé, his yellow hair shining under the lights, his face cold and calculating: "I should have known you were nothing but trouble. Breaking off our engagement was the best thing I ever did." Harry Baker, the smart and tsundere boy, his cheeks flushed with anger: "You never cared about anyone but yourself! Maria is way better than you!" And Zane Gatefield, the white-haired yandere, his eyes dark and intense: "I'll protect her from you, Ophelia. You'll never hurt her again."

And then her family. Her father, his face stern and disappointed: "Ophelia, you have disgraced this family. We have no choice but to exile you." Her mother, her eyes filled with tears: "I'm so sorry, Ophelia. But we can't protect you anymore."

She had run out of the mansion, not knowing where to go, just wanting to get away from all of them. She had run until she couldn't run anymore, until she had tripped and fallen, hitting her head against a rock. And that was when it happened. The memories came flooding back—memories of a different life, a life where she had been a reader, reading a book called I Have 4 Men to Choose From. A book where Ophelia Gold Wind was the villainess, Maria was the heroine, and the four boys were the love interests. A book where, in the final chapter, after being exposed and exiled, Ophelia had killed herself, overcome with depression and despair.

"No..." she whispered, her voice hoarse and broken. "It can't be true. It's just a book. It's not real."

But the memories were too clear, too vivid. She remembered reading the book, feeling sorry for the villainess, even though she had been mean and cruel. She remembered thinking that Ophelia had just been lonely, that she had acted out because she wanted attention, because she wanted to be loved. And now, she was Ophelia. She was the villainess, and she was living the same life, facing the same fate.

She looked up at the sky, the rain falling into her eyes, blurring her vision. She didn't want to die. She didn't want to end up like the Ophelia in the book. She wanted to change things. She wanted to live a different life, a life where she was happy, a life where she was loved.

And then she saw him. A boy, standing under a large umbrella, looking at her with wide, innocent eyes. He had pink hair, soft and fluffy, and bright blue eyes that looked like the sky on a clear day. He was wearing a pink hoodie and jeans, and he looked like a little angel who had stepped out of a dream.

It was Kobi Windfield. The boy who, in the book, had loved Ophelia silently, helping her with her plans even though she had never noticed him. The boy who was kind and pure and naive, so easy to manipulate, but who had a heart of gold.

Kobi walked towards her, his umbrella held over her head, shielding her from the rain. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle. "You look like you're in trouble."

Ophelia looked at him, her eyes filling with tears. She had never really noticed him before, not really. He had always been there, in the background, quiet and unassuming. But now, looking at him, she felt something stir in her heart. Something warm and soft, something she had never felt before.

"I'm fine," she said, her voice trembling. "Thank you."

Kobi smiled, a sweet and innocent smile that made her heart skip a beat. "You're welcome. My name is Kobi. Kobi Windfield. What's your name?"

"Ophelia," she said. "Ophelia Gold Wind."

Kobi's eyes widened, and he looked at her with surprise. "Ophelia Gold Wind? I know you! You go to my school, right? You're in the second year, just like me."

Ophelia nodded. She had forgotten that they were in the same year, that they went to the same school. But then, she had never paid much attention to him before.

"Come on," Kobi said, taking her hand. "My house is just around the corner. You can come in and dry off. I'll get you some clothes and something to eat."

Ophelia looked at him, hesitating. She didn't know him, not really. But there was something about him, something warm and trustworthy, that made her want to trust him. She nodded, and let him lead her through the rain.

Kobi's house was big and beautiful, a huge mansion that looked like something out of a fairy tale. But it was also warm and cozy, filled with soft furniture and bright colors. Kobi led her into the living room, and told her to sit down while he got her some clothes.

When he came back, he was holding a pile of clothes— a soft pink sweater and a pair of sweatpants. "These are my clothes," he said, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "I hope they fit you. They're a little big, but they should be comfortable."

Ophelia took the clothes from him, and went into the bathroom to change. When she came out, Kobi was sitting on the couch, waiting for her. He looked up at her, and his eyes widened. "You look really nice," he said, his voice soft. "The pink looks good on you."

Ophelia looked at herself in the mirror, and she had to admit that he was right. The pink sweater was soft and comfortable, and it made her look softer, more approachable. She had always worn dark colors, black and red and purple, colors that made her look tough and intimidating. But now, wearing pink, she felt different. She felt lighter, happier.

Kobi got up and went into the kitchen, and came back a few minutes later with a plate of cookies and a glass of milk. "Here," he said, handing her the plate and the glass. "I made these cookies myself. I hope you like them."

Ophelia took a cookie, and took a bite. It was delicious, sweet and buttery, with just the right amount of chocolate. "They're really good," she said, smiling at him. "Thank you."

Kobi smiled back, his eyes shining with happiness. "I'm glad you like them. I love baking. It's one of my favorite things to do."

They sat on the couch, talking and eating cookies, and Ophelia found herself opening up to him. She told him about her life, about her family, about the things that had happened that day. She told him about the memories, about the book, about the fate that she had been trying to escape.

Kobi listened to her, his eyes filled with sympathy and understanding. "I'm so sorry, Ophelia," he said, taking her hand. "That must have been really hard for you. But you know what? You're not the same person as the Ophelia in the book. You're different. You're kind and brave, and you have a good heart. And I know that you can change things. You can live a happy life, a life that you want to live."

Ophelia looked at him, her eyes filling with tears. No one had ever said that to her before. No one had ever believed in her, not like this. "Thank you, Kobi," she said, her voice trembling. "Thank you for believing in me."

Kobi smiled, and leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek. "I'll always believe in you, Ophelia. I'll always be here for you."

Ophelia felt her heart race, and she looked at him, her eyes wide. She had never felt this way before, not with anyone. Not with Caleb, her ex-fiancé, not with any of the boys at school. But with Kobi, she felt something different. Something real.

She leaned in, and pressed her lips to his. It was a soft and gentle kiss, full of love and tenderness. Kobi kissed her back, his arms wrapping around her waist, pulling her close.

When they pulled away, Ophelia looked at him, her eyes shining with love. "Kobi," she said, her voice soft. "I love you."

Kobi's eyes widened, and he looked at her with surprise and happiness. "You love me?" he asked, his voice trembling.

Ophelia nodded. "Yes, Kobi. I love you. I love you more than anything in the world."

Kobi smiled, a big and bright smile that made her heart melt. "I love you too, Ophelia," he said, his voice soft. "I've loved you for a long time. I just never had the courage to tell you."

Ophelia smiled, and leaned in, kissing him again. She knew that she had found the one, the person who would love her and support her, no matter what. And she knew that she would never let him go.

"Kobi," she said, pulling away from the kiss. "I have something to ask you."

Kobi looked at her, his eyes filled with curiosity. "What is it, Ophelia?"

Ophelia took a deep breath, and looked him in the eye. "Will you marry me?"

Kobi's eyes widened, and he looked at her with surprise. "Marry you?" he asked, his voice trembling.

Ophelia nodded. "Yes, Kobi. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to be your wife, and you can be my husband. We can live together, and be happy, and never be alone again."

Kobi smiled, a big and bright smile that made her heart melt. "Yes, Ophelia," he said, his voice soft. "I will marry you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you too. I love you so much."

Ophelia smiled, and threw her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. "I love you too, Kobi," she said, her voice filled with happiness.

They sat on the couch, hugging and kissing, and talking about their future. They talked about getting married, about living together in Kobi's big house, about going to school together, about all the things they wanted to do.

And as they talked, Ophelia knew that she had made the right decision. She had changed her fate, she had escaped the life that had been written for her. And now, she was going to live a happy life, a life filled with love and happiness, with the person she loved more than anything in the world.

The next day, the second year of school began. Ophelia and Kobi walked into the school together, hand in hand. Everyone looked at them, surprised. They had never seen Ophelia with anyone, let alone with Kobi Windfield, the quiet and innocent boy who had always been in the background.

But Ophelia didn't care. She held Kobi's hand tightly, and she walked with her head held high. She was no longer the villainess, no longer the mean and cruel girl who had tried to hurt everyone. She was Ophelia Gold Wind, a girl who had changed, a girl who was loved, a girl who was happy.

And as she walked into the classroom, she saw Maria and the four boys looking at her, surprised and confused. But Ophelia didn't care. She just smiled, and walked past them, holding Kobi's hand. She knew that she had nothing to prove to them. She was happy, and that was all that mattered.

Kobi looked at her, his eyes filled with love and admiration. "You look beautiful, Ophelia," he said, his voice soft.

Ophelia smiled, and leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. "Thank you, Kobi," she said. "You look beautiful too."

Kobi blushed, and smiled, his eyes shining with happiness. They walked into the classroom, and sat down together, hand in hand. And as they waited for the teacher to arrive, Ophelia knew that this was just the beginning of a new life, a life filled with love and happiness, with the person she loved more than anything in the world.
