Chapter 82 - The Golden Parachute

[The Astral Tribunal - Cosmic High Court]

The massive, glowing candlestick charts projecting above the Astral Tribunal were flashing a terrifying, sickly yellow.

The three colossal Arbiters were in a state of absolute, divine panic. Below them stood Agent Vane, his gray suit glitching with static as he reviewed the cosmic economy.

"The Pantheon Token is hyper-inflating!" the center Arbiter roared, the galaxies around the court shaking. "Because the Tycoon franchised all four billion dimensions, the velocity of money has skyrocketed! The token is becoming worthless fiat!"

"It's a massive economic bubble," Vane reported grimly. "And because we legally recognized the Token as our universal reserve currency, when this bubble bursts, the entire multiverse will collapse into the dark ages."

A sleek, obsidian portal opened on the marble floor.

Victor Thorne stepped out, flanked by his entire C-Suite: Seraphina, Ignis, Elara, and CTO Valerius. Victor looked entirely relaxed, adjusting his midnight-blue cuffs.

"You did this!" the Arbiter pointed a massive finger of starlight at Victor. "You over-leveraged the cosmos! Fix the economy, Tycoon!"

"I am afraid I can't," Victor said smoothly, pulling a golden contract from the Tycoon's Ledger. "I am stepping down as CEO of the Pantheon Group."

Silence slammed into the cosmic court.

"Stepping down?" Vane echoed in disbelief. "You own the multiverse!"

"I own a highly volatile fiat bubble that is about to burst," Victor smiled a ruthless, predatory smile. "A smart investor knows exactly when to exit the market. Therefore, I am exercising my executive severance package. The Golden Parachute."

Victor slashed his gold-nibbed pen across the Ledger, projecting the terms of his exit strategy into the stars.

"I am selling my ninety-seven percent controlling stake in the Pantheon Group directly to the Astral Tribunal," Victor announced. "You will inherit the company, the toll booths, the franchises, and the collapsing fiat currency. You will hold the bag."

"And what do you demand in return for this toxic asset?!" the Arbiter bellowed.

"A promotion," Victor's Tycoon Aura flared, shattering the very fabric of the localized dimension. "I want the Omni-Key. The artifact that grants access to the Higher Dimensional Corporate Sector. I am leaving this local multiverse to find an emerging, unregulated omniverse."

The Arbiters stared at the human. He had built a monopoly, extracted all the real wealth, rigged it to explode, and was now selling them the ticking time bomb in exchange for the keys to a higher reality. It was the most despicable, flawless corporate maneuver ever executed.

But if they didn't buy the company, the economy would crash anyway.

Defeated by pure macroeconomic gravity, the Arbiter summoned a small, glowing key forged from pure chronos-energy and handed it to the human.

"Pleasure doing business with you," Victor caught the key. He turned to his executive team. "Seraphina. Ignis. Elara. Valerius. Pack the servers. We are expanding to the Upper Management dimensions."

Victor Thorne stepped through the portal, leaving the bankrupt Gods holding his empty corporate shell. The hostile takeover of the local multiverse was complete.
