Caleb's POV
The therapist steps into the waiting room and gestures for us to follow her. I quickly mind-link Mason to stay close to Riley. She has been alone too long already, and every minute away from her feels like torture.
My parents and I file into the small consultation room. The sterile white walls seem to close in around us as we take our seats. Dr. Bennett settles behind her desk, her expression grave. The silence stretches between us until she finally speaks.
"She told me it was her father who did this." The words hit like a physical blow. My mother gasps softly while my father's jaw clenches tight. I feel my world tilt sideways. Her father? Riley never mentioned having a father. In all our time together, she only ever talked about her mother.
