Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The Quiet After the Storm

[ Gang Member ]: Madam, forget our failure; in any case, this is not within our scope of work. Now, let us focus on our new work area and our renewed work. Shall we start our criminal activities directly upon arriving at your new institution? Or do we set other plans for what is to come?

[ Djintoyda ]: What you must do first is to leave me alone for now, because my brain is truly in a state of confusion and hysterical anger. My thinking now is scattered, and I can only think about the results we obtained.

Djintoyda closed her eyes while her submarine continued its rapid movement along with the rest of the submarines. At these same times, the trio Oshnirai, Chyohana, and Yoriki had reached the front of the submarine running, with inhalation and exhalation emerging in acceleration. The Yoriki clone was in the middle of the door entrance. [ Yoriki ]: Come on, enter quickly. Yoriki moved away from the middle until Oshnirai launched as the first to enter among the three, and without wasting a single second, she headed to the driver's seat. Chyohana and the Yoriki clone entered after her. Chyohana moved toward the chair near the driver's chair until she sat on it. On the other side, both Yonsharin and Gwankai were sitting quietly on the lined-up chairs; Enyojo was also sitting on one of them. At the back of the place, the number of kidnapped people crowded, sitting on the floor, carrying in their hands a plate with brown meat on it, eaten by everyone carrying it. A Yoriki clone was sitting in the front in the middle, and in front of him was a grill with types of meat showing colors. One of the clones was sitting on one of the chairs until the last clone moved to stand in one of the sides. Thus was Yoriki with his clones around him, yet at the same time away from him; the one who was sitting in the chair near Gwankai, and another standing, and another sitting in the middle, and the last near the entrance door. The submarine began emitting preparation sounds for launch until it reversed, turned, and launched rapidly, leaving behind every echoing explosion, every rising cloud of smoke, and scattering rocks. Finally, an explosion erupted that shook the area including it, covering the entire place with smoke resembling gray clouds that covered the moving waters as if preventing them from approaching. The smoke began to decrease in intensity to the point of transparency, making the waters around it turn white as if there were a number of hidden ghosts. The area became inhabited by silence, the place turning into what resembles a pit of rocks and rubble, and the three rocky mountains of the caves that were demolished—the silver and black ones among them—as a final trace that one day there were three caves whose silver rock shone. The sun's rays emerged, snaking through the sea to illuminate it, announcing the end of darkness to highlight the blueness of the water. Return to the lemon-yellow submarine that moves by diving, and inside it Yoriki, whose face looks toward where the crowd is, moving away from the exit door and heading toward them. [ Yoriki ]: Well, now that we have finally finished the work, it is time to cancel this triple cloning technique; its work has ended at this point. He reached near his clone sitting on the floor, looking at him. Suddenly, all of those—the one sitting on the floor, the one sitting on the chair, and the one standing—turned into green light and began turning into small spheres, then faded, becoming smaller until they disappeared. All this while Kinojo, sitting near his sister Hinawaka, had his eyes widened and his mouth open, watching what happened to the three clones. He placed his hand on Hinawaka's shoulder while shaking her. [ Kinojo ]: What is this that happened, my sister, tell me? That boy and his likenesses became green specters, then spheres and disappeared, and only one remained. Please tell me what I saw. Hinawaka's face turned toward him with frowning features. [ Hinawaka ]: Do not ask me, I am not your teacher. Pose the same question to whoever teaches you when you return to school. Now, remove your hand from me. He removed his hand from her while his gaze was still on Yoriki. [ Kinojo ]: Fine, I do not need you; there is someone better than you who will answer what I want and more as well. [ Kinojo ] to himself: I will inquire of him about everything. What is this that I saw? I really want to understand what the nature of these things is. He stood up from his sitting and began walking in the direction of where Yoriki was. While the latter adjusted himself, sitting on the floor near the grills, he took a long inhalation and then brought out the exhalation as bubbles from his mouth, and displayed a smile that illuminated his face. [ Yoriki ]: Finally, this night has ended. So, they had planned to blow us up with three children as bait; although, frankly, it was an excellent plan to lure us, was it not so, guys? Gwankai raised his head, which had been bowed to a modern phone between his hands. [ Gwankai ]: What are you saying? It seems you forgot all those troubles we went through. The cave we were in had multiple paths until I felt I was moving in an infinite empty loop. You should say they succeeded in annoying us, exhausting us, and depriving us of the end-of-year celebration. I will have to wait for the end of the current year now..... Literally, this was the worst night I have lived in my life. Yonsharin's face turned toward him after she had also been busy looking at a phone she carried, with a smile appearing upon her face. [ Yonsharin ]: Gwankai, I told you before that we will compensate for tonight's celebration. As soon as we arrive, I will work on organizing a new party for us. [ Gwankai ]: You cannot compensate for anything. Not only because the end of the year is only once, but also because there is an official mission waiting for us. You cannot delude me with words in light of the situation we are living. The smile vanished from Yonsharin's face, with eyes looking at the ground, then she turned her face to the window near her, watching the hills moving with them. [ Yonsharin ] to herself: He is right, and this is an inescapable fact. She sighed, then looked with disdain, directing her eyes to Enyojo, who sat in front of her. [ Yonsharin ] to herself: I will not deny that the President's children are the primary reason for depriving us of the happiness of the celebration. Yoriki's face was turned behind him, displaying a wide and light laugh appearing on his features, until Kinojo approached him, standing near him, so Yoriki returned his face looking at him. [ Kinojo ]: Aaaa, boy, I am surprised by your condition. Hours ago, you were displaying cold facial features indicating your lack of interest in what was around you, and now you are smiling happily. His smile disappeared in a second to show the frowning teeth. [ Yoriki ]: Wait a moment, what did you say? Boy..... He stood up from his sitting to match the standing Kinojo. [ Yoriki ]: Listen, I am not a child of your age, you there. He stepped over the grills that were separating him and Kinojo to pass him, advancing toward the sitting crowd. [ Yoriki ] shouting: Listen to me, all of you! Everyone stopped eating what was in their hands, their eyes widening, looking at the shouting that emerged. [ Yoriki ] shouting: Which of you called me a child.... I am not a child, I am a man, that is clear from my voice..... I might even be older than most of you, so do not respond to what your eyes see. I am Ahinkai Yoriki, one of the sailors' men, so it is strictly forbidden to call me a child. Did each one of you understand or not? Do not make me repeat my words. The skins of every person who was kidnapped trembled as if it were jelly being moved, with mouths showing their fear, until all of them decided to emit one voice. [ Everyone ]: Yes, Mr. Yoriki. We apologize for the misunderstanding and for judging your book by its cover. We offer you our sincere apology; we are sorry again. Veins appeared inside Yoriki's eyes. [ Yoriki ]: Well, since everyone understands, you can go back to what you were doing. Kinojo was turned toward him with eyes widened and mouth open to its maximum extent. And Yoriki turned back to sit in his place. [ Kinojo ] to himself: There, his face has turned again. He is truly in a state of anger; I can only ask him about one thing now. He sat down in front of him with the grill separating them, and Yoriki looked at him with a new smile formed by his mouth. [ Yoriki ]: Your face says you want something; your sitting near me is not in vain from you.... Do not fear and tell me about what you desire. Do not respond to the shout I emitted; you only reminded me that one of them called me a child with an adult voice before. Do not care about what you heard and tell me, what do you want? [ Kinojo ]: Umm, my teacher at school always taught us that fire and water do not meet, so how can these grills contain a fire while we are in the middle of the depths of the sea? [ Yoriki ]: What? Do you not have a kitchen in your house? You are supposed to know what this is. [ Kinojo ]: My mother never allows me to approach the kitchen, so I have never seen fires while being in the water before. Yoriki sighed, pointing his finger to the grills that burn what is on them with fires of triangular shapes. [ Yoriki ]: In any case, this is not fire, but hot glass intended for heating and cooking. Were it not for it, you would be eating raw food like any animal. Be thankful for this glass. [ Kinojo ]: Oh.... So that is how it is. [ Yoriki ]: Yes, that is exactly how it is. At this time, Hinawaka was looking at them until she stood up from her place. [ Hinawaka ] to herself: I must take the initiative to apologize to them all, one by one. In the end, first and last, we are the reason for depriving them of a happy night. Her feet began moving, walking forward, passing everyone in front of her until she reached the chair where Yonsharin was sitting, busy moving her fingers on her phone. Hinawaka's shadow covered her, which made her notice her. [ Hinawaka ]: I have come to specifically offer my deepest apologies, and on behalf of my brothers, for the trouble we caused you. [ Yonsharin ]: I told you before that your apology is unnecessary. You were just a pretext so that we could liberate those kidnapped before you. Please, sit near me instead of that. [ Hinawaka ]: I must begin distributing my apology to the rest of your colleagues, and I am insistent on offering my regret. Excuse me. She bowed her head to her, then continued her walk, reaching Gwankai, standing by his side. His face turned toward her with a prominent smile. [ Gwankai ]: I heard what my sister said to you, so I also ask you not to apologize... this is not the first time this has happened with us; rather, sometimes worse happens. So, your apology is unnecessary. [ Hinawaka ]: I am sorry, sir, but I apologize in any case. His eyes widened, cancelling his smile, while she moved away from him to advance to where Oshnirai was sitting while she was driving and Chyohana near her, until she stood between them in the middle and bowed her head to them. [ Hinawaka ]: I offer you both my sincere apologies. Because of not paying attention to ourselves, we caused countless troubles. I am very sorry. Oshnirai looked at her for a long time, then returned to looking forward. [ Oshnirai ]: Of course, you must apologize, and intensely as well. Your brothers should have offered their apologies with you..... To your father whom you worried, who did not see sleep because of you, until he appeared as one humiliated before us for what happened to you. You, as his children, must give him your apology in one word; this is only the least you can do. Oshnirai showed her a wide smile while her hands were busy moving the steering wheel. Hinawaka raised her head after she had been bowed, with eyes widening in astonishment, and she moved her gaze to Chyohana, upon whose face was a wide smile as well. [ Chyohana ]: Do not regret regarding us. Worse than that happens with us, and in the end, this is our work fundamentally, and our work is characterized by us performing it at any time it may be. Gwankai's head shook, looking in the direction of both Oshnirai and Chyohana. [ Gwankai ] shouting: But you must admit that this is the worst night we worked in! I know that you both were also in the middle of the celebration before the President called you. Admit it, all of us did not celebrate in the end. [ Oshnirai ]: On the contrary, we celebrated collectively. The only thing is that the party did not please us, especially those we invited to it. Also, the fireworks that rose were at least the best thing we watched..... We lived special moments. In my opinion, this night is the best. I enjoyed dancing with that turtle called Djintoyda; she and her two brothers organized everything with extreme professionalism, and in the end, you say it is a bad night. Shame on you, Gwankai, for I saw you enjoying dancing with Hintoydi. Your torn jacket is evidence of that; you should have thanked him for his entertaining you. Yonsharin looked in her direction with disdainful eye movements. [ Yonsharin ]: Tell me, Oshi, and you as well, Chyoha, why were you mocking what was happening? You both seemed like two children playing. [ Chyohana ]: That was intentional from us for reasons that will result in psychological harm to her, was it not so, Oshi? With a smile, Oshnirai looked at her. [ Oshnirai ]: Torturing her psychologically was more enjoyable for us and better as a punishment from us for depriving us of last night's pleasure. When Djintoyda thinks about the matter, she will realize that she was played with as if she were a toy and not a threat to us. This will make her enter a state of anger that might lead her to madness. As for her end, it will come one day, just as our living in the depth of the sea will end one day. The wide smile that was drawn on her face vanished, staring sharply, while Yonsharin looked at them with disdain, and Enyojo, who sat in front of her, looked at her with interlaced hands with looks carrying lack of interest. [ Enyojo ] to himself: Strange. It seemed from that old woman and the frog, from hearing their tone of voice, that they were happy or something of the sort, as if they were not the same ones who were carrying cold looks and behavior. Everyone who is here is strange in their matter, strange in their matter. Did my father not find other sailors to save us instead of these oddballs? He ended his talk with himself with a simple sigh. At Hinawaka, who was still standing between the two, she looked beneath Oshnirai's foot where the latter had placed her spear whose head had separated from its shaft, then she moved her eyes away from it to look at its owner. [ Hinawaka ]: Aaa... Madam..... [ Oshnirai ]: My name is Oshnirai; do not call me "Madam" again, for I have a name like yours. [ Hinawaka ]: Well, Oshnirai, as you wish. I wanted to say that I see your spear has become in a state of readiness for its retirement. It seems from its condition that it can no longer continue working. [ Hinawaka ] to herself: And I mean that you must retire; your health will collapse. Oshnirai looked at her. [ Oshnirai ]: Aaaa, no. It is not as you think; rather, it is in a post-battle state. A light laugh was drawn in her, and Hinawaka watched her with wonder. [ Hinawaka ]: What? [ Oshnirai ]: There is still a long way ahead for its work until it reaches its retirement. A disdainful look appeared in Hinawaka's eyes. [ Hinawaka ] to herself: This is the strangest old woman I have seen in my life. She does not retire, nor even leave this damaged spear. She can simply buy a better sword than it. Chyohana looked at her with a smile covering the skin of her entire face. [ Chyohana ]: I know very well what you are thinking. Hinawaka turned her head slowly with widened eyes. [ Chyohana ]: Leave what is in your mind. How about you go now to sit near Yonsharin? Instead of exhausting your legs by standing, it is better for you than trying to understand what you will not be able to understand. [ Hinawaka ]: W.. w... well. Excuse me. العنوا
