Sera's fingers slipped to the hidden ties of her gown, and with a soft pull, the fabric around her waist loosened.
Layers fell away---
And gasps echoed through the room!
Because once the layers of the magnificent, elegant ballgown fell away, it revealed that beneath it all was a woman who took her invitation to violence seriously.
The fitted combat outfit was designed for movement. Light armor woven seamlessly into the fabric, looking like it was part of the original dress. Hidden, reinforced seams were there to protect as well as give freedom of movement.
She had prepared this from the moment she stepped inside...
Sera rolled her shoulders.
Adjusted her grip on the sword.
And smiled!
Sharp.
"Shall we?"
The question was a taunt as much as a challenge.
Sera was looking forward to this duel. Ever since Keal had promised her that there would be violence and she would be tested by his people, she'd come to the very reasonable conclusion that she would have to fight someone.
