The plateau had grown silent. The arena, once alive with energy and motion, now faded into faint light, dissolving into the vast horizon. Lui Alpha stepped forward, his body still humming with the residual power of his training. Each breath reminded him of the awakening he had achieved, of the fire now coursing through his veins.
Arthur Alpha walked beside him. "Your mastery within the forge was only the beginning," he said. "Beyond this plateau, the world will test you in ways the arena never could. Every creature, every force, every law of reality itself will challenge your resolve. Are you prepared?"
Lui Quiboloy nodded, though uncertainty still lingered. "I… I will try. I will not fail."
Arthur's gaze softened, yet remained resolute. "Try is not enough. You must endure. You must fight. And you must grow. The path of a hero is forged through struggle, not comfort."
The plateau ended abruptly. Below stretched a vast expanse, a valley of swirling mists that shifted and twisted unnaturally. Mountains floated above, forests hung inverted in midair, rivers flowed against gravity. The laws of reality were bent, distorted, yet tangible. This was the first true trial beyond the controlled environment of the arena.
A sudden tremor shook the ground. From the swirling mists, a creature emerged. It was massive, easily ten times the height of a mortal, with scales glinting like molten metal. Its eyes burned with intelligence, cunning, and feral hunger. Its claws tore through the mist as it advanced toward Lui.
Lui's hands glowed faintly with the energy he had begun to master. He could feel the pulse of the world respond to him. This was no longer an illusion. This was real. This was survival.
Arthur's voice rang out. "This is your first challenge beyond the forge. You must face it and overcome it. Use all that you have learned. Trust in your instincts, trust in your awakening, and above all, trust yourself."
The creature roared, a sound that shook the very sky. It lunged with terrifying speed. Lui leaped aside, letting the aura of his energy flare, leaving a trail of light that cut through the swirling mist. The creature's claws struck the ground, sending shards of crystal and rock flying.
Lui clenched his fists. This time, he did not simply react. He extended his power outward, forming blades of pure energy in his hands. The aura surged, responding to his intent, following his will. He struck. The energy blades collided with the creature's scales, and a wave of light and force erupted. The beast staggered back, snarling in disbelief.
Arthur watched silently, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Good. Feel it. Channel your intent through your power. Your strength is not just physical. It is a reflection of your will, your courage, and your heart. Strike with purpose, not just force."
Lui inhaled deeply. He could feel the creature circling, studying him. Every move it made was deliberate, testing his reactions, probing his weaknesses. He had faced illusions in the arena, shadows, and constructs, but this was different. This was alive. Thinking. Adapting. Challenging him at every step.
The battle raged. Lui dodged, struck, and moved, letting his aura guide his motions, letting his instincts flow in harmony with the energy around him. Each strike of the beast tested his focus, each roar challenged his resolve. And yet, with each exchange, he grew stronger, more attuned to his awakened potential.
Finally, with a surge of concentrated energy, Lui formed a sphere of blazing force around himself and launched it directly at the creature. The explosion of light and power engulfed the valley, shaking mountains and scattering mists. When the radiance faded, the beast lay defeated, vanishing into the swirling fog as if it had never been.
Lui fell to his knees, chest heaving, sweat and energy crackling over his body. His heart pounded with exhilaration. He had faced the first true threat outside the forge. He had survived. He had conquered.
Arthur approached him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "This is only the beginning, Lui Quiboloy. The world beyond the plateau is vast, and far more dangerous. Each trial will demand more of you. But today, you have proven that you are ready to face it."
Lui looked across the valley. Mist swirled endlessly, shadows shifting, mountains floating impossibly high. The world was alive, wild, unpredictable, and yet he felt… prepared. The awakening he had begun was only the first step. The journey ahead would test his body, mind, and soul.
And Lui Quiboloy would rise to meet it.
For the path of a hero was never meant to be easy, and his legend had only just begun.
